Brazil is said to be the future of the United States and much of Europe and it's hosting the 2014 World Cup. Earlier this week three construction workers were killed working on a stadium in Sao Paulo and now the World Cup draw pre-show has begun - with the microphones not working initially. Now there is a moment's silence to mourn the passing of the leftist God known as Nelson Mandela. So we are off to a great start.

Klinsmann's USA will be in the same group as the team that put the US out of the last WC, Ghana, and Germany!

Rebajlo's Australia are in the same group as Spain and the Netherlands. This could be embarrassing for the Socceroos.

I am Bosnian, so I am happy to see BiH in this World Cup, our first ever and I will be fully supporting the BiH team. Although I don't post in the soccer section, I am a football fan. Boxing is my #1 sport, but football is #2.

I'm also supporting Spain, Iran, Argentina, Germany, and Netherlands as well as any other team that plays with exclusively or predominantly white teams (at least 9 of the 11)! I'm also a big fan of C Ronaldo so will be supporting Portugal (aside from Nani, they are a decent side).

I can't stand England or France. If they actually played Englishmen or Frenchmen I would support them, but as it stands they play way too many Negroes (sometimes 5, even 6 or 7 of the starting 11... disgusting) and may as well be African teams for all I care.

I agree with Freethinker, I think they want at least a couple of the African teams to have an easy path to advance, with Nigeria and Cameroon actually having decent chances to get out of their groups as well. Brazil will win Group A, but Cameroon does have a chance behind them, as Croatia and Mexico have not looked good at all at times this year. Same with Nigeria; Argentina will win it, but hopefully Bosnia will be able to advance behind them. Another African team, France, has an easy group as well. :dodgy: At least Ghana got put into a hard group.
Definitely an interesting Draw though. It seems like the Top South American Teams are set up to advance easily. Brazil's group is a total joke, and Argentina's group is no Group of Death either.


I think Portugal has about three non-whites in their starting lineup: Pepe, Bruno Alves, and Nani, with several black subs off the bench. I'd easily cheer for the US too if "we" start 8 whites, which like you said, we are very capable of doing.

As for England, I think they will start around 8-9 whites in the WC. Something like: Hart, Baines, Cahill, Jagielka, Gerrard, Wilshire, Lampard, and Rooney, with maybe Lallana as a winger. If they start only 7 whites, I'm cheering for them over Italy all the way, even if Italy only starts Ballotelli. Because England's stars are Hart, Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, and Cole (if he starts), while all they will talk about with the Italians is Ballotelli.

Going down the groups:

Group A: I'll go Croatia first and foremost, and than it doesn't matter, but probably Mexico.
Group B: Spain for sure. After that, I'm not sure.. how white is Chile, and how black will the Netherlands be? It would be Australia, but they probably have no chance of advancing in this group.
Group C: Greece, and probably Japan, but the 2nd team doesn't matter. As long as the Ivory Coast does not get through.
Group D: England and Uruguay (Ballotelli annoys me way too much, and is too important to the PC crowd to root for Italy at all.)
Group E: I suppose the "Swiss" but really no preference here.
Group F: Argentina and Bosnia
Group G: Germany for sure in this group (Khedira might not make the WC) and either the USA or Portugal, whomever is in the best position to take Ghana out.
Group H: Russia for sure, and Belgium if they don't start 4-5 non-whites.

The qualifications themselves were very disappointing. No Denmark, who despite fielding ½ black-looking Simon Paulson was the whitest overall squad in 2010 in my opinion. No New Zealand, Slovenia, Slovakia, or Serbia, either.

In the loss of those 5 “white-friendly†teams, Croatia, Bosnia, and Russia qualified.

Certain “white†nations field a vile club (Netherlands, England, France, USA), some field 2-3-4 non-whites (Switzerland, Belgium), some field 1-2 non-whites (Germany, Italy, Greece), and some are entirely white (Russia, Croatia, Bosnia).

After Denmark, my favorite national side is “Die Nationalmannschaft,†who thankfully just lost the criminally-hideous midfielder, Sami Khedira, to an ACL tear a few weeks ago. If he can’t play in the World Cup Finals, and I hope he can’t, any number of exciting German-born players (Reus, Gotze, Gotze, Draxler, Kroos) could take his place.

One never knows if the supernaturally slow-footed, tattoo-encrusted Negro, Jerome Boateng, will retain his position as a defender. Several German players (M. Jansen, Howedes, Schmelzer) clearly have more burst, but it never seems to matter.

Mesut Ozil, the undeniably-talented Turk midfielder (who does pass the “eye test†by the slightest of margins) appears to be the only entrenched non-white starter.

With Ozil as their lone non-white, I would pull for this squad to win the Cup, as there are just too many exciting offensive players (Klose, Reus, Schurrle, Muller) with dynamic goal-scoring ability. Also, to see Miroslav Klose tie (or best) Ronaldo de Lima’s record would be quite satisfying as well.

Mesut Ozil clearly looks like a semite,to these eyes atleast.He is also the most talented non-white in the whole of world football.However even that shouldn't be enough for him to get into the German team.The attacking midfielder should be either Gotze,Reus or Kroos.Gotze has an amazing dribble,Reus has that corker of a shot...Kroos,well,he is simply too good.

No need for filthy turks like Gundogan,Serdar Tasci,Khedira or even Mesut Ozil(overall he's been average for Arsenal so far).Qisling is the battering-ram(I know he's better than that) when we need to go gung-ho with two strikers.Sven Bender in Midfield when we need a degree of control.

And the above team doesn't even include Roman Wiedenfeller,Lars Bender,Sebastian Kehl(yeah,he can still do a job),Patrick Hermann,Benedikt Howedes.......and I could go on all day.

Aslo,it may seem that the above team doesn't have the right balance as far as the double-pivot is concerned.However Hummels is the ultra-deep playmaker here.Don't underestimate his passing range and ability,folks.Remember only last year they were struggling against Malaga in the CL,when Klopp brought on the black defender Santana.Hummels then moved into midfield and then launched two great balls into the box,to set up the equalizer and the winning goal as well.Xabi Alonso would've been proud of them.

Unfortunately, it's quite safe to say that Australia would fail to get past the first round regardless of which group they were drawn in. The Socceroos might have had a slight chance had they landed in:

Group A (Brazil, Croatia, Cameroon) in place of Mexico;

Group C (Greece, Colombia, Ivory Coast) in place of Japan;

Group E (France, Switzerland, Ecuador) in place of Honduras;

Group F (Argentina, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Nigeria) in place of Iran;

Group H (Russia, Belgium, Algeria) in place of South Korea

All of those groups contain two teams which - if they play badly (and the Socceroos play to their full "potential"...) - are within Australia's limited reach or who often fail to deliver the goods at finals tournaments.

The Socceroos (and the A League) are rubbish. It's too bad that the FFA (Football Federation Australia) refuses to acknowledge this and everyone involved in the sport is in head-in-the-sand (or arse) denial.

In the abovementioned context, this draw is completely unproductive because not only is failure virtually guaranteed but in the aftermath it shall be palliated by a huge summer salad of convenient, delusion-maintaining excuses. For example, if Australia was belted by all-comers in either Group A, C, E, F, or H the media would be more than entitled to pose some serious questions (but probably wouldn't anyway...) which could possibly precipitate some sort of eye-opening reforms (but probably wouldn't anyway...). But when the Socceroos are humiliated by reigning world and European champions Spain and 2010 runners up the Netherlands, everyone shall content themselves with saying "well, there's no shame in losing to teams of such outstanding pedigree, et cetera, et cetera..." and everything definitely stays the same.

Interestingly enough, if things "go to plan" Brazil shall meet either Spain or the Netherlands in the second round...

The English press are already panicking after England's first match, against Italy, has been moved forward to suit TV companies. It was to be played at 9pm in Manaus - 2am in the UK, 3am in Italy - to 6pm local time. Manaus is in the Amazon region and is known for its exceptionally high humidity. That probably will hurt England.

It reminds me of Mexico 1986 when the matches were played in mid-summer at noon local time to suit European broadcasters and usually at very high elevation. Although Mexico '86 is well remembered today for a few classics there were a lot of horrible matches with exhausted players passing the ball about going nowhere and moving at a snail's pace.

That group is designed to ensure France's qualification.
