If anyone can please name me a more dominant heavyweight than Klitschko. I don't just mean recently. I am talking about ever. Yes that is how good he really is. I know Rahman is a bum but he's still a top 10 heavyweight according to rankings. He landed only a handful of punches through 7 rounds. Has Tyson or Holyfield ever been that dominant? Ali? No, not at all. As good as Wlad is his brother is even better!!!! I am loving every minute of this.
I really cannot think of a heavyweight that has ever been this dominant either. Little guys got to Ali in his prime and while they did not win they at least got to him and beat him. The same thing happened to Holmes. Tyson was one dimensional and punished sluggers but history proved a good boxer would usually beat him. Holyfield -even with PEDs- was a great cruiserweight but never a great heavyweight as he was too small. The same would have to be said about Dempsey, Louis, and Marciano: too small to fight the Klitschkos. So there really is only one other fighter we can compare to the Klitschkos and that is Lewis. A look at Lewis's record and I do not see anything more impressive than Wladimir's. Lewis does have an excellent resume, but I cannot honestly say it is better than Wladimir's. But time is marching on and Wladimir is not just winning he is winning against the best the world has to offer and he beats these guys without getting touched. The only knock against Vitali's record is the lower number of fights. But, his resume is just as impressive because of two things: one, he beat Lewis on the scorecards while having to fight with an extremely bad This fight discouraged Lewis and forced him to retire. Two, he recently walked out of a four year layoff and obliterated the world's number one contender (Peter). If he gets a chance to fight Haye he will most certainly send Haye back into dreamland, where he is now, and lay down the gauntlet for anyone to argue he is not the best or second best of all time. Either way, Klitschko or Klitschko, history is being written here and it is getting more and more difficult to say these two men are not the best heavyweights of all time.
