I totally agree -- at least when Max Baer failed to defeat Jim Braddock, Baer could excuse himself with the fact that Braddock was a former contender and a well-known, dangerous adversary. That "fairytale" ending was at least plausible because Braddock wasn't some nobody from nowhere. Which is why Baer and Braddock got respect.

Ali should have destroyed Wepner -- a brave man, but obviously one who should NOT have been able to go fifteen with the heavyweight champion of the world. The Wepner bout (along with the Cooper bout, the Bugner bout, and so on) should have called into question Ali's credentials as being the greatest ever, but you know how the media is. Once they set their mouths to blowing someone...

Lewis should have been forever discredited by his loss to Hasim Rahman, but of course excuses are made for Lennox where as in the case of Klitchsko completely demolishing Rahman, excuses are made for Hassim. The media and dickless wonders of the caucasian emasculated variety never seem to remember that Lewis ducked Vitali like a chump, got all he could handle when they finally did get in the ring, then proceeded to deny Vitali his rightful rematch because of the questionable ending to their first and only bout. Fans and Vitali most of all clamored for a rematch. The only ones who didn't want it were Lewis' camp, and the champ himself -- he knew he was tailor made for Vitali, and would have his ass handed to him if they ever touched gloves again.

True champions fight everyone who contends. Marciano is a true champion despite the fact that people say he never fought anyone worthy. What to people want him to do? Teleport through time to knock Mike Tyson or Joe Frazier out? He fought everyone and didn't duck anyone. He retired because there was no one left to fight.

The Klitschkoes are smacking around the best that the world can put in front of them, and are winning. What more do people want? At least they're not hiding from anyone or denying anyone their shot -- even unworthy mooks like David Haye.

Lewis on the other hand forever had both Wlad and Vitali on the "lose my number" list.Edited by: GiovaniMarcon

what do ross purrity, lamon brewster, and corrie sanders all have in common (other than the fact that they're all bums)?

If you're trying to point out that Wladimir should be considered a fraud because he has had some questionable losses, I don't know what to tell you -- you'll believe what you want to believe.

Having said that, Mike Tyson -- the holy grail of the disciples of the "only blacks can box" school of thought -- has lost to fighters who might be called bums -- Buster Douglas, Kevin McBride, etc.

Lennox Lewis of course lost to Oliver McCall, an average fighter at best, when Lewis was hitting his professional peak. He also lost that match to Rahman, which was a humiliation on par with Klitschko's 2nd round KO loss. The difference is, most in the media have forgotten Lewis' loss or have written it off. Klitschko on the other hand has never been on the good side of the press, and will never shake off the stigma of his two major losses because the media seems to WANT him to fail.

Ali has been taken to task by bums.

Even Joe Louis has lost to what might be called bums.

The point the Klischko supporters want to make is that good boxers are forgiven for their missteps and remembered for their victories and for their general greatness. Or rather, BLACK boxers are forgiven their missteps.

The Klitschkos have not and will not duck anyone, where as a case can be made that Lewis ducked Vitali and Wladimir.

All good heavyweights have suffered their losses (other than Marciano as a pro, whom I consider the best of all time) -- the difference is the caste media fixates on the negatives of white fighters, where as it obsesses only with the positives of colored ones.

A good example is Gerry Cooney -- an excellent fighter who gave a prime Larry Holmes all he could handle in their championship bout. Even Holmes himself -- who was knocked out by Tyson in the mid 1980s -- named the Cooney bout as the single most difficult one of his career. Read his biography.

Nevertheless, Cooney is remembered for his loss to Holmes and his loss to Foreman in 1990, after he was already shot as a fighter. Nobody in the media cares about his demolition of Ken Norton. Excuses are made for Norton, as per the usual modus operandi of the news services in our country.

I won't get into Foreman's greatness, because he's great -- but let's not forget his humbling at the hands of Ali, who himself had been humbled at various points.

Again, don't confuse the general sporting media with what you see on this website. You might get a false impression about what the great majority of whites think.

The whites on this website, in my opinion, are more aware of the racism -- anti white -- in sports, and thus fixate on the positive attributes and accomplishments of white athletes.

This is a stark contrast to the generally negative light in which white athletes are observed in the sporting press.

So if people here go on ad nauseum about Klitschko this, Klitschko that, it's because we don't hear about them anywhere else, except if it's in a hateful manner.

Don't think for one second that we believe that they're perfect, unbeatable, or not subject to the same scrutiny as black boxers.

In fact, I think castefootball is one of the rare places where black and white athletes are assessed fairly.

wlad avenged his fight with brewster i believe, corrie sanders was no bum unless you're thinking of corey t-rex sanders, and i bet if got to rematch purity he would win.
Corrie Sanders was a very good puncher, quite a shame he had to cross paths with Dr. Vitali, who on a mission to avenge his brother's defeat. Also the fact that he was a late bloomer, he was 39 in his fight with Vitali. If he's still fighting, then good luck to him. I'd rather he stopped.

Good for him. I like Michael Buffer's post fight announcement about him then:

Corrie Sanders down fall can be attributed to laziness and an obession with dreams of becoming a professional golfer. Too bad he didn't have the wisdom to put all of his efforts into boxing.

I saw that fight btwn Vitali and Sanders at the Staple Center in Los Angeles. I remember looking at Sanders and his body appeared soft. Not like the ripped physic he had when he KO'd Wlad. I guess he incorrectly thought his brother also had a glass chin and did not train properly.

Vitali just wore him down and got the TKO. Another thing I remember was when Vitali walked toward the ring, he played a great song, "Hotel California". It appears that he has great taste in music as well as being the Heavyweight Champion of the World.

I really wish Haye was fighting Vitali. He has absolutely zero chance winning with Vitali. Against Wladimir he maybe has a 1 percent chance. He is too small and will not be able to land anything.

Anyone who watched the Barrett fight could see that Monty was old and used up. He had all the symptoms. No reflexes or timing, slow to pull the trigger, etc. All involved should be embarrassed. But the two Brit announcers had no shame and kept on about how Haye was bursting upon the heavyweight scene with the fight. They had to be on more than one payroll.

It also made me wonder. Does British TV have the same ethnic imbalance that American TV does?

I have been examining Wladimir Klitschko's record. He has 52 wins which is extremely impressive. His 83 percent KO percentage is very high as well. He does have 3 loses however. He was way ahead in the Puritty fight but got really tired. This was also the case in the Brewster fight. He was ahead on the cards. I think this stamina issue is behind him now in days. The only fight in which he dissapointed is with Corrie Sanders. He was down twice in the first and twice in the second. I can't see David Haye having the firepower to take Wladimir out. Haye's chin will be exposed in this fight.

I would like to see Atlas name one heavyweight other than Vitali in history who has never been down and was never behind on the scorecards. He would have alot of fun finding one

Stamina used to be an issue for him, might still be though. I think the difference for him between then and now is, he fights smarter and more cautious now, rarely letting loose. If Haye lunches a wild assault, Wlad just needs to hold a steady ground, and counter smartly, 'cause I don't see Haye beating Wald at all. Wald just needs to jab smartly, because an opening will eventually appear and he can just land the killer 1-2, 1-2 combination. That will knock Haye right of his horse.

This was not the case in the Brewster fight. Wlad was drugged by shady ass ****** Don King. If the truth ever came out that fight would be declared a no contest.

I can't explain what was wrong with Wladimir in the Corrie Sanders fight. Sanders was a pretty good fighter himself at that time but to drop Klitschko 4 times in 2 rounds is crazy.

I think it was simply the amazing power that Sanders had in his prime. I think it was equal to the power Mike Tyson hadat his peak. I think any heavyweight hit by Sanders at this time would have had trouble recovering quickly.

I am really looking forward to this Haye fight and can't wait to see Wladmir win. I live in the UK and there seems to be a body of opinion that Haye will win - mostly people who have not been following boxing or the Klitschko's too closely over the past few years. When Wlad wins it will also raise his profile in the UK, where many people probably don't even know who he is, and don't realise how white dominated boxing is nowadays.

Having said that a lot of the posters here don't seem to be giving Haye a chance. Although he is small, he is fit, aggressive, about the age he should be at his peak, and if he gets lucky could pull off an upset. I think he has a slim chance of a win - because that's boxing. I believe however that Wlad will be too good a boxer for him and will physically dominate from round three onwards (if not from the start) and finish it in rounds 5 to 8. I wish it was on tomorrow!

David Haye is actually not small - he's a medium-sized heavyweight, with similar proportions to Muhammed Ali.

David Haye

Compare his height and reach to heavyweights like Boytsov, Chambers, Ibragimov, Frazier, Marciano and Tua.

During the past few years, Haye kept struggling to get his weight down to 200, because he knew he couldn't take a punch from men his own size at heavyweight. By his own admission, he moved up to heavyweight because he couldn't make cruiserweight anymore.

Haye won't fight a heavyweight contender like Dimitrenko or Arreola because he knows he'd be knocked out. So he's going for the one big payday against a Klitschko.

I still think the Klitschko's shouldn't have gave him this fight. Let the idiot Haye go through Arreola, Chagaev, or any other top fighters. Haye got what he wanted because he whined like a spoiled brat. If a white fighter who was champion at cruiserweight had gone up to heavyweight he wouldn't receive a title shot against the champ. I just hope Klitschko shuts Haye's mouth in the ring. Haye makes me sick to my stomach.
