Emmanuel Steward is a very old black man and works with quite a number of successful white boxers. Wladimir Klitschko, Andy Lee, are his foremost 2 fighters at the moment and they are both white.
Personally, I don't think Steward has any racial bias. Steward has in fact made comments in the past, where he has implied that European boxing system (white) is better than the American boxing system (black).
Steward's commentary as an HBO analyst has also been largely pro-white, or atleast, race-neutral. For example, in the Pirog-Jacobs fight, Steward was very appreciative of Pirog and seemed to imply Pirog was winning the fight which was a view largely unsupported by DWF's.
Steward, in my opinion, is not a proponent of caste system in boxing or "superior" black athletes. He is aware that many white boxers are in fact better than black boxers.
Wladimir's amazing wins over Chris Byrd and Calvin Brock have also come under Steward, and both of those fights, Wladimir deserves most of the credit, but Steward played a great role as trainer.
If you want to talk about racist trainers:
- Floyd Mayweather Sr (absolute retard who has made anti-white comments and derailed Hatton)
- Roger Mayweather (absolute retard who has made anti-white comments)
- Teddy Atlas (Jew who only supports blacks)
- Virgil Hunter (Trainer of Andre Ward, I was disgusted with the way he talked about Kessler and Abraham)
Emanuel Steward, in my opinion, is a fair and race-neutral coach.
