In an awesome boxing display Briggs stops Mireles in only 27 seconds! Clearly Briggs deserves a championship fight after that awesome display!

What he actually does deserve is a thorough drug test and test for brain damage - and also some arrests for trespassing and assault when he goes barging into Wladimir's venues doped up to his gills and high as a kite.

Video of the awesome fight:

I’ve never seen a heavyweight fighter go down, and stay down, from such a lame punch. Briggs’ gay little “celebratory dance routine†following such an epic “victory†served as the proverbial rotten cherry atop the mold-ensconced cake. This roid-addict fights a slovenly Mexican in a tiny casino in front of several hundred people in Minnesota and he thinks he deserves a title shot?

Briggs is 42 years old, has asthma, grey facial hair, and looks terrible for his age…aside from his juiced-to-the-gills upper body. He’s always had putrid conditioning and was never very quick or creative in the ring due to his bulk and lack of athleticism. After a 4 year layoff, this guy could really injure himself against Wlad or any other ranked heavyweight.

As for his recent behavior, I tend to believe that his bizarre stunts over the past weeks are planned/scripted to create hype, which is why he’s never arrested and/or disciplined afterwards. He’s always had a sound mind and was normally very gracious and polite when speaking in public, particularly after the infamous “beating of a lifetime†he absorbed against Vitali...

As far as I know, he’s never committed a single crime (despite hailing from a Negro-infested, crime-ridden trash heap like Brooklyn) and he’s always dated black women…

But yeah, he may have also lost his mind.

Apparently loser Sherman tank Williams is going around saying wladimir is easy to beat with body shots.

Yea, after he got fired from Wlad's training camps lol. Apparently he showed up grossly overweight and had nothing to offer in sparring so he was sent home.

That being said there is some truth in his comments. If youre trying to beat Wlad, youre best bet is to brawl and try to rough him up with punches everywhere in an attempt to remove him from his comfort zone.

That being said, the likelihood of Leapai doing that, or anyone else at heavyweight, is almost zero. Wlad hits very hard so getting caught is what deters a lot of guys from rushing Wlad. Earlier in his career Wlad had pace issues and would tire, but he's largely corrected that and is consistently in amazing shape.

Btw, havent posted a prediction yet, I'll go with Wladimir Tko 6. Leapai fights aggressive and makes it interesting. Wlad catches him coming in and breaks him down. I think Wlad's left hook scores the Ko, and we may see Leapai dropped numerous times.

Traditionally guys built like Wlad haven't been able to take body shots well, but in the past heavyweights were more like cruiserweights and had better stamina ie a prime Marciano or Frazier. These days guys that would be built like that are too bulked up ie Lepai. Lepai will hit the scales at 230+, he should weigh under 220 to fight this style but he won't and that will cost him any chance of winning beyond a hail mary bomb or flukey cut or injury.

Yep, like a lot of things, much easier said than done. After one of his pile driver jabs the brawling and punching the body game plan suddenly loses a lot of its appeal, and then if you try to pursue the matter you just get ko'd for all your trouble. Has Wlad ever been hurt by a body punch? I don't think so.

I don't know how this guy Leapai is being given any respect whatsoever. He's lost to Kevin Johnson for pete sakes. The Kevin Johnson that is in defensive mode all fight and he didn't lose to him by points but TKO. He's probably Wlads weakest opponent in a while, maybe even weaker than Mormeck.

I dont think WLad has ever been hurt by a body punch. Sam Peter, and Corrie Sanders hurt him with head punches, but never to the body. Really the only time Wlad was ever in real "trouble" was because of fatigue issues. Hes made sure to fix that issue, so hes pretty much good to go at all times.

Corrie Sanders did. Corrie Sanders - murdered by blacks! - could have been the best of them all. He had that much amazing natural ability.

Sam Peter hurt him with blatant rabbit punches, as money launderer for the boxing capos, Randy Neuman, all dressed up in a referee suit, looked on smiling.

I don't think Peter knew how to throw a proper punch. Beyond Jeremy Williams all of his big shots landed look like something a Saturday night bar fighter would throw at the local pub bouncers......:biggrin1: Ps the Samoan out weighed Wlad by a pound, so much for his coming into a championship fight in the best shape of his life. How many wild boars did he eat before he hit training camp....

Did you look at my other link in that post - Carl Capes?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxRuQouI6qc

I think that Capes would make a good next opponent for "comebacking" Briggs...or Wilder, tho he's been temporarily suspended.

He'd be good for Briggs but Wilder can no longer fight guys like this. He's somehow ranked in the top 10 now and fights on those high profile Showtime cards, so they have to round up name opponents that were once respectable but are now well past their prime. The opponents also have to be willing to take a dive, like Malik Scott did in Wilder's last fight. Wlad said this week that he plans to fight for another 10 years so Team Wilder's strategy of waiting it out until he retires may not work.

As much of a fraud as this Briggs campaign is. This will get him some high profile fight. I suspect the WBC champion after the dust settles will fight a voluntary defense against Briggs, or maybe he fights Leapai in Oz...

It starts at 5PM ET. ESPN doesn't even advertise it on their front page. They've got it hidden away - not that I watch espn or tv...but it's always kind of hard to find out what time these fights start. And then Murphy's Law kicks in besides. If I turn the thing on one minute after it started they will have been sure to have started it right on the dot, and there would have been a sensational knockout at 15 seconds into the first round that I missed...but if I start watching right on time, then I will have to wait for about four full length ten round bouts of tiny ******** bouncing around, plus 20 minute ring walks, and something that looks like Michelle(Michael) Obama screeching out a rap version of the star spangled banned, plus endless inane banter from the idiot talking heads.

You gotta be prepared for the fight to start before 5pm just in case. Missed a couple of fights thinking they would start later than they actually did.

I'm always down to watch Vlad ply his trade. Two o'clock start is good timing for me here on the Left Coast. Just watched the Boytsev fight. The Islander is big and he can hit so he has a chance.

No buzz? Well I'm buzzed any time a Klitchko fights. Screw the lemmings. Those currently steering mass interests no longer steer mine. I'm a recovered DWF (emphasis on the D).

I look at ESPN's treatment of this fight as a treat, a throwback to the old days. Watch the old newsreels of a Marciano or Fullmer or Basilio fight. Short ringwalk, some intros, and then to the fight. The guy calling it was never on camera. Just the old school basics. This is as close to that as you can get nowadays.

Last I saw Vlad was only 11-1. I would think it would be higher, but his age, his chin, and a puncher across the ring keep the odds down I suppose.

Here's hoping for a highlight reel Ko for Vlad.
