The big green event is underway. Go Maria.

Henin-Hardenne was upset in the first round. Not pretty.

Serena is toast and Venus soon will be. The black supremacists must be scratching their heads.Just as with Tiger Woods in golf, the Williams girls were supposed to herald a black takeover of tennis.

It was tough to see Justine go down like that, but we still have Maria and all the other Russian girls.

Serena gets whupped and digs into the Williams sisters bag of excuses. They lose because of injuries, cramps, the flu, dehydration, jet lag, fatigue, bad calls, hostile crowdsor becausealack of practice.God forbid they ever admit a white girl kicked their backsides!

`I definitely think it's important for me to practice harder than what I have been,'' Williams said Saturday night, a pink visor pulled low above her reddened eyes. ``I've never been big on practicing. I've kind of just been all about playing.''

Yeah, you better start practicing, if you ever hope to make it past the 3'rd round of Wimbledon again. All your excuses add up to so much BS, and people will soon see that.

That's pathetic stuff about not practicing. I like this additional quote from Miss Big Booty: "I definitely feel by the U.S. Open I'll be in hopefully a lot better shape. Obviously I'll be practicing until then. I definitely think I'll be ready for that."

Definitely, hopefully, obviously. Too lazy to practice a sport that has madeher tens of millions of dollars byher early 20s (in large part because of the endorsement dollars andworshipful media hype of the Caste System). Glad to hear she'll be practicing between Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. What a sacrifice!

The headline in our local paper was Serena's loss, not Wimbledon in general or the wins of any of the other competitors. So, even in losing, she garners more attention than Sharapova or any other tennis player?

They are both on the decline. They are not focused enough
to deal with the likes of Sharapova and others. They
practice very hard and are not as much into always being
in the spotlight. There are just too many great european
tennis players who are hungrier than they are. They made
their money and they will dissapear within the next
two years. It's time for the Russian invasion.

Whitelightning wrote "its time for the Russian invasion" There was a time, not too long ago, when I would have been startled at that statement, of course it wouldn't have anything to do with tennis, or women. As long as the Russian women play and look as good as Maria, I say let the invasion begin! Yeehaa!

Venus has made it to the semis, so I'm eating a little crow. Venus-mania has replaced coverage of the tournament in the local rags here. She plays Maria next, should be a great match to watch. Go Maria!

Here's an observation. The knock against white athletes are that they are stiff and lack hip flexibility. Yet watching Venus play tennis, she looks awkward and stiff, not fluid. I'm not knocking her tennis ability because she is getting the job done, but no one in the media ever points out that she is stiff.

I am so ticked off about Maria losing I can't even post.

I was going to try to post and analyze what happen in that match. I think I'll spare everybody that. It was no where near as bad as the score looked, IMHO.

What you worry about most is if the press will go bananas or not. For instance, they actually found this newsworthy:

Dad: Fans, media grew tired of daughters' success:

They've struggled, he says, because of criticism from fans and the media, who grew tired of watching them play in Grand Slam finals -- and think they've made tennis ``boring.''

``When it was Steffi Graf or Chris Evert that won, orMonica Seles-- but when those two black girls came and beat up everyone, tennis was 'not exciting,''' he told The Associated Press on Thursday after watching Venus beatMaria Sharapova, in the Wimbledon semifinals.

Old man Williams ought to view life from a broader perspective. To many sports fans, women playing tennis is not that big an attraction unless the women look like... women, and the more attractive the better. I never cared for King, Navratilova or Seles but enjoyed Kournikova, Sharapova and Chrisie Evert. the Williams sisters look sorta like Michael Irvin in drag, not a pretty sight. And has anyone been authorized to check under their... logo's... to verify they are in fact females?

Lame it seems that every time a Williams Sister wins somebody has to either claim that they are on steroids or they look like men . Venus was the superior player yesterday end of discussion. And Shaparova is not that beautiful reasonable body averga face.

Venus did win but I was commenting on the remarks made by poppa. You can argue whether or not Maria is the most attractive but she definitely looks like a woman, that's more than I can say for the Beastie Sisters. Let's face it, looks are important in this day and age. Who would draw more male viewers at center court, Lydsay Davenport or Kournikova?

Take another look at Venus in that photo, her most muscular pose is almost up there with Arnold's.

Bart.... c'mon man.. are those pics REAL???

I knew they were ugly.. but migosh!

and for 'fistfighter', who writes:

Thats not true.. Winning or losing has nothing to do with looks; just ask Anna Kournakova. I say the Williams sisters are ugly whether they win or lose.
smiley36.gif

I don't care whether they play tennis, hustle carts at the local Wal-Mart, or pose for National Geographic; these women are butt-ugly.

You bring a whole knew meaning to the term "animal lover," defending the way the Williams sisters look while disparaging those of Maria Sharapova. But then again, you've had your head up your ass so long you're starting to get comfortable with the view; maybe the Williams girls just look more familiar to you.

White Shogun, those are all 100% legit pictures found at Yahoo. Admittedly with lots of make up, wigs and lipstick they are not quite as frightening. Even Flip Wilson had an easier time passing as a female.

It also goes both ways. I was talking to one of my friends who's non-white and she calls Shaparova manish or manly. But I happen to think you're all crazy!

That's good to hear!I only wish non-white males would share the same opinion. It would be nice to see black athletes or entertainers make a bee line for the Williams sisters for a change, instead of salivating over white girls.

That was one of the best womens final matches of all time ! in the end Venus wanted it more then Lindsey. Both played well but there can be only one winner.
