I figured I'd go ahead and start this thread for the upcoming season, since some games have already taken place in Division 2. The performance that really sticks out to me so far is that of Dixie State College WR Kyser Christensen. He was second team all conference last year. The Junior from Boise had a super performance against Adams State last night, snagging 9 balls for an incredible 215 yards and 2 TDs!

Some other performances of note in Division 2.
Chadron State-Brandon Harrington-game high 8 catches for 98 yards and 2 TDs plus a 56 yard KR

Wayne State-Logan Masters-game high 7 catches for 83 yards

Grand Valley State-Mike Koster-team high 7 catches for 68 yards and a TD
Grand Valley State-Blake Smolen-3 catches for 64 yards and a TD plus 1 run for 4 yards and 2 KR for 20 yards

Blair White 9 rec 162 yds for 2 TD's

Andrew Brewer 6 rec 145 yds 1 td

I would love to see Eric Decker lead the nation in receiving. They play in a very tough conference but he will have a shot. He was double and triple covered alot today but still had almost 200 yards receiving.

I don't know what the hell Nevada is thinking. They moved Luke Lippincott to receiver. This kid is a stud running back. The other guy had a good game today but Notre Dame is killing them. I'm just pissed off that they are ruining Lukes chances of making the nfl. What a joke! He had ability close to Jake Sharp.

I am happy with the opening days Decker, White and Brewer had. That really sucks about Luke Lippincott.

Unreal about the Luke position change. You can expect anything these days though. I'm glad Decker had such a great game!

Texas WR Jordan Shipley: game high 8 catches for 180 (!) yards and 1 TD

Blair White, ho-hum, just another walk-on white receiver.

Tough, thanks for pointing out the typo. It was 115 yards for Kerry, a great day for many White WRs today!

What a spectacular way to open the college football season! Absolutely dominating performances by White, Cooper, Decker, Shipley, Meier, Gerhart, and Sharp with some good stuff by Burkhead mixed in. Combined with the BYU victory, I'm very excited about this season.

U @ Buffalo WR Brett Hamlin had 3 receptions for 16 yards against UTEP on Saturday.

Sophomore Zach "Mystery Meat" Maynard had a victory in his first start.

Air Force WR Kevin Fogler had just one catch but it was a game high 57 yard TD reception.

So to summarize week 1 in the year of the white receiver (as TJR calls it):

Eric Decker - 9 for 183 (3rd in the nation)
Jordan Shipley - 8 for 180 & 1 TD (T4th in the nation)
Greg Salas - 7 for 180 & 1 TD (T4th) (looks white enough to me, probably part Hispanic)
Blair White - 9 for 162 & 2 TDs (7th in the nation)
Andrew Brewer - 6 for 145 & 1 TD (11th in the nation)
Derek Moye - 6 for 138 & 1 TD (mixed race)
Kerry Meier - 5 for 115
Cody Slate (TE) - 9 for 114 & 2 TDs
Riley Cooper - 5 for 105
Jared Karstetter - 3 for 91 & 1 TD
Dennis Pitta (TE) - 7 for 90
David Leonard - 7 for 87
Rocky Ross - 5 for 85
Garrett Graham (TE) - 6 for 82

There were also solid efforts from McKay Jacobson, Ryan Wolfe, Kevin Jurovich, Ryan Whalen, Graham Zug, Dane Sanzenbacher, Chris McGaha, as well as others. I know this is only the first week but I am very encouraged by these great athletes. I expect many of these guys to get drafted because they are simply to good to be ignored.

These WRs plus Toby Gerhart, Jake Sharp, Rex Burkhead, Joe Martinek, etc helped ease the pain of the NFL's recent white purge.

Yes very encouraging first week--like a lot of guys on this list White, Shipley, Cooper etc..

Andrew Luck and Ryan Whalen hook up on a beautiful fade route to put Stanford up against Wake Forrest!!

Blair White made a sweet catch as he got hit, and then Gantt gets the TD reception!

Andrew Luck looks good today. I have a good feeling about Stanford this year. It's going to be a great year for our guys and teams!

- UNC TE Zach Pianalto had 7 catches for 87 yards & 1 TD.
smiley32.gif

- Sanford WR Ryan Whalen 9 catches for 123 yards & 2 TDs!
smiley106.gif

- UF WR Riley Cooper led the "Gaytuhz" with 5 catches for 82 "yodz" & 1 TD.

The two best receivers in Michigan both had 100-yard days in Spartan stadium -- Blair White and CMU's Brian Anderson.

Eric Decker had another 100 yard day, but still no TDs for him yet this year.

I can't believe Stanford let Wake come back to win today...bummer.

Graham Zug the junior WR out of Penn Stateled the teamwith 6 receptions for 79 yards, last week he had 5 for 62.
