Cincy really hasn't been "hostile" to white RBs. They gave Goebel a chance and he got a fair ammount of carries and work. I am positive that McDaniel is more athletic than Goebel and a more complete back with some speed. We'll just have to see how this pans out.

When Brian Kelly was there, celtic. Their new coach, Jones, has castified the team up and has given Goebel nothing but a few scraps this year. Cincy might not be the best team for him to land at anymore.

Iowa has also offered him. Brandon Wegher would be playing a lot this year, but he had to get himself in a deep hole. I read an article where the Fighting Irish have interest in him- as a slot WR.

6'2 190 pound JR runningbackJoe Schobert tore it up in the D1 Wisconsin playoffs this year!! He is the biggest reason Waukesha West came home with the state title! In the state game he broke currentWisconsin RB John Clay's state single game rushing record. Schobert ran the ball 38 times for 296 yards and two scores. That averages out to a 7.7 yard average!

On the season Schobert had 308 attempts for 2442 yards and 28 tds. He also had 8 receptions for 200 yards and 3tds! This guy is a stud,will the badgers ignore him as a RB prospect??

Probably. The Badgers don't seem to like white guys carrying the rock, since they must not have any "burst" or "wiggle" or "room brighting smiles". Logan Lauters(see a few posts up in this thread) is also another stud white Wisconsin HS back that barely measures a blip on the Badgers interest list, while they fawn overcomparably inferior black RB's and WR's.

FootballDad believe me i know. 3 years ago the Badgers offered a track guy by the name of T.J. Williams from Kenosha Bradford. The guy had 4.3 speed but was NOT a football player. That same year another WR from my town by the name of Tyler Hujik was tearing it up! He was a little undersized at 5'11 160 but had 4.6 speed, great agility, hands, and was a threat returning punts. Fast Forward to 2010 and Hujik is playing at Dayton and is in the top ten for avg. punt retuns in the FCS. Williams isn't even on the Badgers roster.

The next year Tremper had a CB\WR by the name of Kyle Sebetic who was a phenomenal athlete. 4.5 speed, 4.2 SS, and a 30 inch vertical.He was 6'0 170lbs as a Sr. and played both ways for Tremper. The Badgers didn't find him worthy of a scholarship despite his skill set and he toois at Dayton starting at Corner as RS. Freshman!

Last year a white RB from my town by the name of Andrew Gray 5'10 175had 1500 yards rushing in the largest division of Wisconsin High School football and he garnered zero interest besides D3 schools Oshkosh and Steven Point. That same year, the Badgers offereda back from across town by the name of Vonte Jackson. Hereceived an offer from the Badgers after racking up a whopping 20 carries for 130 yards as a Sophomore. He must have had what they were looking for. The Badgers also offered back Melvin Gordon whom you are familiar with.

I see the caste system taking its toll in my Wisconsin town and I do not like it. Despite displaying athleticism and worthy stats, white players are being ignored. This is happening all over the country.

Unfortunately, it's all true. My son is a 2 time all scholastic RB here in Mass. and i've seen Div.1 coaches come to the school to see him and say "OH sorry, forget it" when they see he's white. Racism is alive and well in recruiting. It's all about recruiting. D1 coaches feel they'll lose black recruits if they show up on campus and see they're behind a white kid at RB or CB.They'll walk away rather than compete so the coaches will sacrifice the one white player to get more black players. This was explained to me by other D1 football parents already. I wonder if the college presidents are aware of this practice.

First, welcome to the discussion forum, Lambert. Second--and please don't take any kind of offense to what I'm about to say--I don't understand why someone like you doesn't get together with those parents and file a discrimination lawsuit. What happened to your son is complete BS and no one should have to go through it. Have you ever thought about suing?

Hi,
Thanks for the advice but i would not sue over it right now. My son will overcome this and show he's better than other players no matter what the circumstances. He has 4.5 speed, squats 400 lbs., and has great hands. Many schools are interested in him and he'll find a good home. He's only 17 and still developing. The winner is the one who keeps getting up is my philosophy.

Good luck to your son Lambert, he should try getting into one of the few White friendly schools in division 1. Schools like Boise State, Utah, BYU and Nebraska. There's a list somewhere on this site that lists the division 1 teams with the most to least White players.

Riddlewire, that's kinda of what I was looking for on the "The All-Time snubbed by D-1 RB Club" thread.
I got a few responses and I think you mentioned Zach Barket and a couple others. I mentioned Eric Breitenstein because he was a more memorable player in my area.

You always do alot research and I was trying to get others to find the guys in their area. So the answer for me is yes, it would be interesting to see where some of these guys are. For me, it could also be guys like Brandon Bourbon who I believe is at Kansas. Although he's there, I'm wondering if he had to walk-on.

My research time and abilities aren't as good as yours and mattgianone, so I really enjoy the high school football stars thread, howevever when I do find someone I will post them.

For instance, Patrick Blaylock now at Appalachain St., led North Carolina High School 4AA largest classification in tackles, 6'0, 190, was an All-State selection, was in the 4.4-4.5, 40 range and had to walk-on, but has EARNED his scholarship now and is a projected starter at Safety!

....And the leading rusher for the great state of Texas for 2011 is, of course, one of those stiff, slow, unathletic white guys, Joseph Sadler from Class 3A Devine, TX. I guess there are no black RB's in Texas Class 3A, as every record would have been shattered with the terrible defenses that allowed this guy to get this many yards.....

Senior Joseph Sadler rushed 50 times for a school-record 466 yards Friday night as Devine (Texas) rolled past Hondo (Texas), 47-27 to complete a 10-0 regular season.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back also scored five touchdowns before a standing-room crowd of 6,000 at Barry Field. Sadler, who also had a key fumble recovery, ran 31 times in the second half for 311 yards as the Warhorses overcame a 21-12 halftime deficit.
The San Antonio Express-News reported that the talented - but virtually unknown - Sadler now has rushed for a state-leading 2,884 yards to go with 46 touchdowns. These impressive statistics have been achieved even though he has played in the fourth quarter just four times and sat out the entire second half on five other occasions.
If the Warhorses go far in the state playoffs, Sadler - who has lettered in six sports at the Class 3A school - has a shot at single-season state records for touchdowns (59) and rushing yards (4,045 by legendary Ken Hall 58 years ago).

Needless to say, I can't even find him mentioned on ANY scouting site. I'm sure that if he was a tad darker, every D1 scout in the nation would be in Devine, TX.

while MaxPreps certainly does not provide comprehensive stats for every state's top performers (including, unfortunately, my own state of Arkansas), it does include a lot of the top performers of many states around the country. as incomplete as their data is, i find it "weird" that half of the top rushers in the nation are "stiff-hipped, blue collar, over-achieving, gym rat types" who will be offered exactly zero Division I scholarship offers to play tailback. additionally, this data provides further confirmation of Riddlewire's original research.

the notion that White athletes are somehow inferior to their black peers has no legitimate basis whatsoever.

FootballDad, I didn't see Gray on the 2012 RB page on Rivals and where I'm looking it starts the ratings with 4 stars, where did you find J. Gray on Rivals?

Also, the article where he verbally committed was wriitten in April of 2011, saying he celebrated his 18th b'day of his junior year. Nice to see he got that extra year in by either failing a grade or being held back a year.

It's bad enough that many black kids do this, but I'm seeing alot of white kids doing this now!!!!

I agree 100%, but who's doing it for them, the coaches, the media has to cover some of it because of the kids with the stats and combine scores and if they have a team go to the state finals.

I'm working on as I speak, how to get to the 2,3,4,5 star rating for the white kids who have the combine scores and who have the stats, but may not get as much media attention because their team fails to go as deep in the playoffs.
