RR, Furr can still redshirt another season if needed. I know people in various sports that competed freshman year, then redshirted later. In D1 the clock starts ticking the second you start fulltime at any college. You have 5 years to compete in 4 seasons in any given sport, which is why Greg Paulus is allowed to play football at Syracuse, since any of the 4 years he played basketball and not football could be considered a redshirt.

Either way, if this was the last game of the year I would be upset at burning the redshirt. But it's the middle of the season, I'm sure he was excited to get on the field.

The goal is to use up his eligibility as quickly as possible. He will get another garbage carry next season in a cupcake game.

Riddlewire is right. if they were going to use Furr as a true frosh, UNC should've been at least using him on special teams as a returner and cover guy. he is literally THE FASTEST ATHLETE ON CAMPUS. he's faster than UNC's best track sprinter.

in other news, Michigan is loading the box against Iowa and daring the Hawkeye quarterback Stanzi to beat them by throwing it. so far the strategy has produced mixed results, but the Wolverines have shut down Iowa's running game thus far.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. â€" Joe Martinek scored on runs of 9 and 15 yards and Rutgers won its 600th game with a 42-0 victory over Texas Southern on Saturday.



A short punt, a personal foul and an 18-yard pass from Savage (14 of 21 for 150 yards) to Brown set up Martinek's 9-yard TD run late in the first quarter.


A 28-yard scramble by Savage was the big play in the 67-yard drive that Martinek capped with his 15-yard run.


Martinek played only in the first half and finished with 51 yards on eight carries.

Army is starting a freshman quarterback, Trent Steelman, who is an excellent option quarterback. meaning he is a smart running back who takes the snaps.

he ran for 97 yards and 1 touchdown on 25 carries against Vanderbilt. he is currently the second-leading rusher for the Black Knights.

Navy FB Vince Murray ran for ran for 62 yards and a TD on 9 carries.

Backup QB Kriss Proctor ran for 82 yards and 3 TDs.

Bo Snelson got 1 carry for 9 yards.

Here's a little good news. Kevin Harris saw zero carries supposedly because he has a groin injury. I suspected something was up b/c I doubted Harris could go from the starter- who was playing well- to a complete NSA guy so quickly. Josh Adams was not impressive, with his sub 4 YPC, until this last game and around half of Pendergrass' yards- before this last game- came from one 76 yard run inflating his YPC. Let's hope Kevin can get back on the field and at least get half of the carries for Wake.

Burkhead has loads of talent, but he's behind a quality upperclassmen tailback. Same goes for Blankenship. Let's give credit where it's due. Also of note: Arby Fields hasn't been very efficient for NW, so let's hope Trumpy or Daniel can get in the mix. Trumpy and Daniel's high school tapes look superior to Fields.

Wegher struggled this last game, but had ZERO holes at all. Still, I was hoping to see him break a couple tackles or reverse his field to make something out of nothing. Idiot Rodriguez yanked Forcier and put in Robinson who put together a drive all with his legs except one pass. Then he puts the Afrolete (who prefers not to tie his shoes...lol. I kid you not.) back in again which resulted in an INT. It is clear who the better player is here by watching these guys and looking at their passing stats, but Rich Rod prefers Afroletes who are a little faster. Rich Rod prefers "SOLO THREAT QBs" to DUAL THREAT QBs. Maybe I'm judging Robinson a little fast here based on one game, but I just can't take a guy who is too good "to tie his shoes" seriously.

A Michigan fan was talking to me about what he saw with the Tate situation, that RR was yelling at him constantly on the sidelines and when he ran back on the field in the 4th quarter the coach pulled him back (hes had 3 4th quarter comebacks this year) The afflete qb threw a pick and RR wasn't mean to him at all, just mean to Tate. If I were Tate I would transfer.

Yeah Forcier is the true "DUAL" Threat QB (usually only reserved by media pundits for black QBs) and Robinson looked like a SOLO Threat QB (for running not passing).

McGuffie was probably smart to get out of Michigan, with all the new black RBs coming in this year- and with how much of a caste clown Rodriguez is. Shaw and one of the true freshman would have been the future after Minor and Brown are gone. Rich Rod is afraid to even so much as give constructive criticism to an Afrolete, but would probably bench Tim Tebow or Colt McCoy for one bad game before they ever became the stars they were, if under his control.

You can't get any better than Forcier's high school stats (over a 70% completion rate) and film. And Forcier was playing amazing for a true frosh until today (including three brilliant 4th quarter comeback efforts), yet RR goes with a completely unproven passer. And Forcier can run the ball almost as well as Robinson to boot. It's clear the culture Rich Rod wants to build at Michigan and it's an Afro-centric one.

a minor correction, Tough ... the black black quarterback that rich rodriguez went with isn't an "unproven" passer. he is a "dis-proven" passer. thatafflete has proven he can barely hit the ground with the ball.

negro "phenom" Duhnard Robinsonhas thrown 15 passes this fall, and 3 of them have been interceptions. he has completed less than half of his attempts (unless you count the picks! ha!) for a meager 87 yards, which translates into a woeful 5.8 yards-per-attempt. i think he has proven plenty.

and it doesn't get much worse than that.

Well, Uncle Butch noticed that he had a white player getting the benefit of a redshirt season his freshman year. Can't have that. So he burned Hunter Furr's redshirt today in a meaningless game against Georgia Southern. Hunter got three carries at the end of the game for 6 yards. The clock is now ticking on Hunter. I have no doubt that he won't see the field again this season.

What a bunch of BS. Butch you're a total idiot of a coach. Burn a player's redshirt that you have no intention of giving meaningful playing time to and waste a year of his collegiate career. Wow way to go Butch you are truly the used car salesman of the NCAA.

I can't believe I forgot about him.
I remember seeing him run the ball some last season. He has astounding moves for someone of his size. 6'1" guys normally can't shift momentum as quickly as he does.
