UGA FB/Wingback Shaun Chapas had 10 yards rushing & 3 catches for 67 yards (including a 37 yard reception). Like Southerland, Chapas is a hardnose runner with lots of power!

6 white boy's running for over 100 yds in the BCS divison is unheard of. Last time that happened was atleast in the mid 70's and am not sure if it happened then.

I seriously doubt it was that long ago, tippycat. There were stillat least a dozenstarting white RBs in FBS schoolsduring most ofthe 80s. It probably happened just a few years before the CF website started. Its just hard to document it.

Colonel,

i may have overlooked him on the list, but just in case he isn't there...

Hofstra's true freshman Brock Jackolski ran for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 9 carries against Bucknell.

he also added 2 catches for 18 yards, and 3 kick returns for 107 yards. he had a BIG day.

Brock Jackolski headed for the endzone again.

The Pride rebounded from an embarrassing defeat last week with a 45-31 victory at Bucknell yesterday.

Hofstra (3-3), which took a 31-14 lead, rushed for a season-high 319 yards against a defense that had been allowing an average of 133 rushing yards per game.

Freshman running back Brock Jackolski led the way, galloping for a career-high 170 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries and finishing with 295 all-purpose yards. Doing his best Usain Bolt impersonation, he broke touchdown runs of 78 and 31 yards on his first two touches.

This after being held to 9 yards last week against James Madison and spending much of that game watching from the sideline as the Dukes racked up 279 yards on the ground in Hofstra's 56-0 loss.

"It definitely felt like redemption," said Jackolski, who starred at Floyd. "We were getting off the ball a lot faster than they were and we had more power."

I hope a guy like Brock Jackloski who had a phenomenal H.S career in NY and runs a legit 4.4 40 yard dash would think of transfering to a white friendly Div. IA team if he keeps up his performances for Hofstra.

Guys like Stan Zwiggi, Cory McCaffrey, Adam Urbano or Billy Bair should think to do this too. It is already too late for David Sinisi. Hopefully Sinisi will get a shot as an UDFA in the NFL. WR is looking up a bit in the NFL for us, but RB has not changed one bit...zero whites allowed to carry the ball.

Will some of these changes in college football allow a few whites through the cracks; even as second teamers who get 10 touches a game or so?

Toby Gerhart may well be the best pure running back in college football. If he reamains healthy, he will be chosen in the 1st round of the NFL draft. You heard it here first.

Jake Sharp is dicing up the #4 ranked Sooners. No love from the announcers, but it is what it is. KU is still trailing, but Sharp's performance is impressive.

Gerhart had a monster game but the Cardinals still lost in the closing seconds. It was too bad because he carried the team on his back all day long.

I'm disgusted with Rich Rodriguez! How do you bench McGuffie? He has been their leading rusher and receiver all year. He does everything and this is the respect he gets. Wow a few kickoff returns and some token garbage time with a minute left in another blow out loss. This sucks. I wonder what Sam has to say. Maybe he should have stayed in Texas or gone to California. What a joke!

Gerhart is John Riggins all over again. Barring injury, this is the guy.

McGuffie will get another shot; he could even be helped with the DWF considering the results this afternoon

yeah he got 3 carries late in the game and got like 40 yards or so... so all's not lost yet!

i love Toby, too bad they will have his injury to hold against him...

PS Oklahoma had a white fullback carry 3 times and also score a TD, Clapp,if i recal correctlyEdited by: backrow

Coach Steve Roberts has a 'no info' policy when it comes to players injuries, but the assumption is that Derek Lawson suffered an injury in tonight's ASU game against UL-Lafayette. He got one carry early in the game and then didn't get back on the field. I hope it's nothing major and he's back soon. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing.

I haven't been able to find the article in the newspaper yet, however, Sam MUST have raped the coaches daughter, or robbed a coffee shop near campus. What else could explain not playing him at running back. I'm of course being factitious, but damn this is disgusting making the most athletic player stand on the sidelines while they let Minor run the ball. If I were McGuffie I would think about transferring to a school that will play me. He got lied to by the recruiters. We all know Sam will not get ball time in the NFL (if he even makes a team) and this is his last big shot at the next level. It's B.S. that he is not getting the valuable experience and grooming to be the number one back at Michigan.

David McCarty of UAlbany rushed for more than 200 yards yesterday ,had a long rushing attempt of 45 yards against previously undefeated FCS Sacred Heart. He is both a power runner and obviously can "take it to the house".Last week after receiving a dump off pass he broke a 72 yard pass reception/run in a very close game. If he works on his speed, even though he appears to have close to breakaway speed, he might make an NFL practice squad (sarcasm). McGuffie who has played exceptionally well is being thrown under the bus because the caste slave Rodriquez was beginning to get grief from the drunken white fans. This is a reflex among the idiots who pretend to be coaches. When the fans are restless bench any white you can.Edited by: weisbard96

Big props to McCarty and you are right about Rodriguez as I posted in another thread.

We had 2 white running backs over 100 yds, Gebhart and Sharp. Trying to find out why Derek Lawson of Ark. St. had only 1 carry last week, cant find any info. Hope he is not injured.

It's an ankle injury. Like I said above, though, Roberts doesn't speak about player injuries so we have no way of knowing if it's just a mild sprain or one of those dreaded "high ankle sprains". The good news is that ASU has a bye week before playing Alabama. So, if it's just a mild sprain, Derek should be back in time to put a scare into the Tide.

Actually, we had 5 white RBs who went over 100 yards this week in the FBS. Besides Toby Gerhart and Jake Sharp, there were Corbin Louks (listed as a QB but plays RB mostly), Collin Mooney, and Todd Newell. In the FCS, we had David McCarty and Mike Kielt who went over 100 yards rushing.

Thanks for those stats, Colonel.

Tyler Roehl may have a hurt ankle. He missed much of the Northern Iowa game and was fairly ineffective after ripping off a nice long run early in the game.
