Bayer jumped the 2nd farthest ever after only Carl Lewis indoors. Wow!

8.79 is the indoors WR ...Carl Lewis. Bayer is now number 2 all time

BTW, (unfortunately paling into insignificance after Bayer's jump) two
young Aussies jumped over 8 metres (8.18 and 8.11) at the recent
Melbourne grand prix.

Mitchell Watts is only 20 so his 8.11 makes him a good prospect. We'll
see what nationals brings.

Watch out for Lapierre and Nils Witer too. The Greek guy and Tomlinson should also be healthy for Berlin.

Justin Sutter, from Granite Bay, California, won the long jump at the Arcadia Invitational track meet this wkend. His winning jump was an outstanding, 24ft 4 inches!

Also just found out that Zach Wheeler of Washington, who came in 3rd this wkend behind Sutter, had won the LJ at the Nike Indoor National Championships, earlier this year - 23ft 11 inches!

I see a lot of potential in him. if he can do more plyometrics he will jump higher and go farther. He looks like hes got the speed down.

The kid is a beast and yes he still has alot of upside. He is built like a football player. Imagine if you need a first down how easily he could jump over the pyle of bodies. Good luck to him and I hope he continues track after high school. Too many of our guys never compete in college because the stupid system doesn't recruit them. Maybe more of them need to walk on to the track team like our guys do in football.

Zach jumped 24ft, 1-1/2inches this wkend in Washington.
Great jumping for a HSer. He and Sutter are both in the Top 10 HS LJers in the country.
I think there are also 2 other whites in the top 10.

This is an event that whites will begin winning more medals at again! I think it will be easier for our people to defeat the "can't jump horizontally" than "can't run the 100 meters" label.

We have already proven to be the best vertical jumpers with 8 of 11 guys to clear 2.40 meters being white. The record holder Sotomayor is a drug cheat and should have his record disqualified. Plus Javier Sotomayor was 6'4 and jumped 2.45 meters. Stefan Holm is only 5'10 and jumped 2.40 meters!

U.K's Tomlinson, the Greek guy (one of those names I can't spell lol) and Germany's Bayer will all have a shot to win gold next Olympics in the LJ if they bring their A game.

Ben Pressley from Texas is also over 24 ft, with a best jump of 24ft 2inches.
I haven't really kept track close track of high school LJing in the past, but 3 HSers over 24ft seems pretty good.

Check this out - Ryan Grinnell of Boise State made history this wkend at the WAC Championships winning the Long Jump, the Triple Jump, and the High Jump!
His long jump was 25' - 9 1/4". His triple was 51' - 9-3/4. His high jump 6' - 10-3/4".

What a great athlete she is. Not to mention that she is very beautiful. She looks like she is built almost perfect for the long jump. I love how competetive the Russian Women are in Athletics. It's too bad that the men don't live up to the skill levels of the women. My guess is that most go into the military, and sports like boxing, soccer, and a few others. It's a shame because I know there is a huge number of men that would make good sprinters if they would take to it in numbers like they have in boxing.

Today in the Italian National Champs, Donato jumped to a world lead in the triple jump. Very nice to see him healthy and dominating again.
