Thanks to Draft Daddy for making it known that the Bengals, depleted at receiver, have moved rookie Ethan Kilmer from safety to WR. Marvin Lewis certainly doesn't have a great track record in this department as he cut Danny Farmer and under-utilized Kevin Walter, but who knows, with Chris Henry a candidate for prison and other receivers constantly getting injured maybe Kilmer will eventually get some substantial playing time. He's a blazer who could be really good.

Here's Draft Daddy's comment on Kilmer: Great move by the Bengals, as we always felt the speedy Kilmer belonged at wide receiver in the N.F.L. As we noted after the last draft, we think the Bengals would be wise to steadily increase Kilmer's reps on offense during his career. He's very inexperienced -- because he didn't play high school football and only played one full season at receiver at Penn State -- but he's way too physically gifted (Sub 4.4 speed; 44" vertical leap) to be relegated to special teams only during his pro career.

Where oh where is tailback Roger "Rabbit" Robinson?

Roger%20Robinson.jpg

the Rabbit at Northern Arizona

from the NFLEurope website: The Arizona Cardinals-allocated running back has been amazing as he has seared through defenses and caused coordinators fits throughout the season. Robinson's total of 1,087 yards rushing smashed the previous league record of 1,057 set by Mike Green in Barcelona in 2001, and the Galaxy back did it in only nine games after sitting out Week Six with a concussion. Robinson also set a new record with seven 100-yard rushing days this season, breaking the old mark of six set by Joe Smith of the 2005 Rhein Fire.

"This season has been a blessing," says Robinson after arriving in Düsseldorf to prepare for Saturday's World Bowl. "I am thankful for the opportunity I have had and the experience I have had. I am just enjoying myself, and breaking this record feels great."

With hindsight, Robinson's season in NFL Europe looks like a great move by the undrafted running back out of Northern Arizona. Cut by the Cardinals in training camp last season, he wanted to prove himself, but Robinson admits that coming to Europe was not the way he had intended it.

"To be honest, I was really wrestling with the idea of coming to Europe or not," he says. "I was pretty set on the idea of not coming, and then I made the decision that it would be for the best and I ended up coming. I did not know what to expect - I had confidence in my ability and I knew that if I came I would be able to make an impact, but everything that has happened has been more than I could have asked for."
(emphasis added by yours truly)

sadly, but not shockingly under the caste system, the season did nothing for Robinson's chances in the NFL.

here are his NFLE stats: 214 carries, 1,087 yards, 5.1 yard average, a long run of 66 yards (he scored a touchdown on the play) 4 TDs. he also added 113 yards receiving, and led the League in total yards from scrimmage.

i have talked to a teammate of his from NFLE, and he was arguably the fastest player in the league and definitely its fastest running back. that backs up what another Caste Football poster said a while back:

Some info that some guys have on this board are incorrect. Robinsons' official fourty time is 4.36 his vert was 40.5" and he did 23 reps of 225. He came out on "The Sporting News " as the fastest RB in college football in 2005.

Roger was cut almost before training camp got started with a mysterious injury of some sort that was never clarified...

He is on their injured reserve right now. This is somewhat good news, if only because it means that he'll be on the roster the whole year and is guaranteed a paycheck. he's not out of the organization, and if anything, he'll get another chance to make the team next year.

He hasn't fallen off the face of the earth, though, don't worry.

I hope this a joke. The last thing the NFL needs is a homosexual scandal laced with drugs.

good info on roger robinson. i thought for sure he'd been cut from the team. it's understandable after a full nfl europe season that he was a bit banged up. the galaxy was a definite run-first offense. he's fast as hell, doesn't break many tackles however. i'd like to see what he could do as a return man at least. i don't really forsee him moving the pile behind that awful az run blocking.

The Steelers signed John Kuhn from their practice squad after third down RB Verron Haynes was placed on IR.

According to this morning's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, "Kuhn could compete with Najeh Davenport and Duce Staley to become the third-down back."

The key word in that sentence is "could." Staley looks washed up and has mostly been inactive for games this season even though he isn't injured. Davenport has talent but is also prone to stupid mistakes. Of course his moron mentality was revealed by his infamous "pooping incident" while he was a "student" at Miami.

Kuhn was a star runner at small college Shippensburg and spent last year on Pittsburgh's practice squad. He weighs around 250 so it's not clear that if he plays he would even be used as a third down back as he is usually listed as a fullback on depth charts though he did get to run in the fourth quarter of some preseason games.

Kuhn broke all sorts of PSAC records at Shippensburg. He is a big back who might be able to fill the Bettis void as long as he can hold onto the ball. Hopefully he makes a good impression this season. Davenport is trash and Duce is to old.

Kuhn certainly looked good when given the chance in the pre-season. maybe Cowher thinks he's a light-skinned brutha with a name like Kuhn, so he'll give him a shot.

i'd hate to have to come up and tackle him if i was a DB. look at the devastation he leaves in his wake! ha!

Kuhn is a german name, why would he think it's not a white last name?

This update from a FF site:

New Orleans released WR Chase Lyman, a 2005 fourth-round draft choice, from its practice roster on Wednesday. The team re-signed wide receiver Lance Moore, who had been released last week when wide receiver Michael Lewis was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list, to replace Lyman on the practice roster.

Lance Moore is 5'9" out of the football powerhouse of Toledo. How could Chase possibly compete with that?

that is good news... looks like Furrey does a good enough job for them to actually get some white guys on the field!

With Martz being there, he may eventually even see the field a little bit. Kasper's had just 1 catch since '02while beingwith at least five different organizations. What a veryunfunny joke the way this record-setting college receiver and tremendous athlete has been treated.Edited by: Don Wassall

One of the fantasy sites had a nasty comment, in reference to the Kasper signing. Something along the lines of "he now will battle with teammate Mike Furrey for the role of whitest receiver." Ha ha.

Sorry Don if you got the wrong idea, I was not making a joke about Kasper. As indicated in my previous posts, I hold a deep disgust for anything that is biased to pro-white practices or beliefs....and therefore would not poke fun at a serious matter such as the obvious cast system treatment of white atheletes!

Castefootballer, I wasn't referring to anything you wrote, just the same disgust we feel for the way white football players are treated.

Mike Furrey and now Kevin Kasper? I would not be surpised if we see Kasper used as a third receiver. This will definitly be seen as a "threatening" move amongst many players on the Lions. I also won't be surprised if we soon see complaints from the players in coming weeks about the coaches in Detroit, along with their talking heads in the booth piling on. Meanwhile not a peep will be said about Denny Green.
