Roy Williams might even have worse hands. I love how he is still sometimes called pro-bowl caliber receiver. Why exactly is he a pro bowl caliber receiver? If he is a pro bowl caliber receiver, it only shows how truly thin the NFL is at WR. He averages about three and half catches per game over the course of his NFL career.Edited by: Bear Backer
 
And he doesn't even make the occasional big play. But he's really good at pouting and showing up his quarterback on the field.
 
Right on Bear Backer. I remember watching ESPN in the last couple of weeks and a couple of jock sniffers were on talking about how Roy Williams is one of "Romo's best weapons."

I didn't watch much of the Grambling-Southern game on NBC last night.

Dallas Clark should have been a major star years ago and he should have been thrown to at least twice as often as he has been. It's a wonder he gets any table scraps at all. Harrison would pout and sulk when he wasn't thrown to constantly, and Wayne in the past voiced his displeasure at not getting enough touches. So, guess who gets shafted? Stokley suffered the same fate.

I checked the stats today and realized Wayne and Welker are neck and neck for the lead in receptions. Not a good situation for Clark.I'm sure Wayne will inform Manning of his duty. We'll see what happens. I would like to see Dallas and Collie get more looks, but I suspect they will get fewer.

Remember when Jason Witten was getting praise and recognition a while back? TO could not let that stand. He and the brothers put up a big stink about that. Could not allow Jason to have more than a couple tosses per game. Went so far as to claim there was collusion between them. Oh no, they had lunch together.
 
The Vince Young hype is really coming alive now. Also lets hope Brian Cushing has a monster game. He looks to be the NFLs next monster white linebacker.Edited by: green fire317

LaDainian Tomlinson scored another TD and had 73 yards on 20 carries. L.T. is still struggling to break big plays with 14 attempts going for four yards or less, but he's a strong RB2 next week. Darren Sproles had nine carries for 26 yards and continues to struggle. He was outgained by fullbacks Mike Tolbert (seven carries, 58 rushing yards, TD) and Jacob Hester (seven carries, 46 rushing yards).Most of their carries were in garbage time though, so don't expect repeat performances.

Are AMERICAN fans really this stupid? Memo: Anyone with brains knows it is normally HARDER to make yardage in garbage time. In this case, an angry Broncos defense "KNEW" that Hester was getting the ball to simply run it down their throats to run the clock out. They still couldn't stop him. Tomlinson and Sproles have sucked all year running the ball, but don't expect SD to change their options in this apartheid NFL. Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Caught some of the game while working out. Cushing had some good compliments.

I checked the box and saw the QB stats. I think the rating system needs some tweaking.

Formatting is off.

Young has a lower completion pct, has thrown for only 97 yds and tossed 1 TD. His rating 119.1

Schaub has thrown for 139 more yards, has tossed 2 Td's but his rating is only 116.5 at this point.

Schaub was sacked three times, Young once.

I think the system needs tweaking somewhere.

Truly sickening. Titans won thanks to a B.S. Horse collar penalty on John Busing. Even Jaws and Gruden were mad at the call. Of course they were all wanting to sleep with Vince "All he does is win game" Young. I'm starting to believe the Titan's games are fixed now. No other way can a truly average QB like Young win week after week. It is getting ridicolous, the league's latest attempt at making a black QB out to be a winner despite his average play. What is up with Kris Brown? His second game tieing FG miss at the end of regulation in two games in a row.Edited by: Jack Lambert
 
Young is playing better, no question about it. But he also is benefitting from a very good offensive lineyet his production is still weak. We've seen this formula before with black quarterbacks, including Young -- the team plays hard and wins games behind a QB that rarely throws for even 200 yards. But it never seems to last very long.

Texas should have blitzed a lot more. Young needs to be pressured into poor decisions and mistakes.

Kris Brown has all but ruined Houston's playoff chances with key misses.
 
Vince Young is a "game managing" QB, who throws about half as much as a typical QB running an offense for a game, but he also adds a running dimension that few can match. Vince Young was formerly a turnover machine, but if he can "manage" an offense and break big runs from time to time- the Titans will win a lot (But...comparative to a Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, Jake Looker, Dan Lefevour or Zach Collaros- the best "DUAL" threat QBs will soon be white). It helps Vince a lot, that he has Chris Johnson- as the defense doesn't know if it will be Young or Johnson getting the ball. The opposing defense has to stack the box against them, which creates room for his WRs (but if he does dump the ball off to Johnson, Johnson can often turn a 5 yard dump pass into a 10-40 yard reception). Johnson looks like he is going to break DeAngelo Williams 8- 30 yard runs in a single season record this season, so he makes Young look better than he is.

The Titans receivers are nothing special. Kenny Britt could be good, but he had butterfingers at Rutgers (Matt Jones has very similar route running ability and burst as Britt, but he is bigger, faster and has better hands).
 
BTW, too bad the Texans lost. They are "white friendly" FOR THE NFL. The Texans should draft Toby Gerhart next year, to be their main ball carrier, because Steve Slaton is starting to look like he may be better as a change of pace RB. I hope Gerhart goes to the Texans, Packers or Patriots.
 
The situation with Vince Young and the Titans is slowly starting to snowball into a bit of nightmare for those of us at CF. Now, to give credit where credit is due, Young played a very decent game tonight. Except for that one fumble, he did not make any mistakes, picked up some very crucial third downs by running the ball, and as TJR mentioned, managed the game well enough for the Titans to get the win.

However, it's the media love-fest that bothers me. Looking at the Titans schedule, it's not at all impossible to think that they can win out. In that case, I cannot imagine the levels of Vince Young worship we'll have to put up with. Another theory I have is that he's playing without much pressure right now. How much lower can you go when you step into an 0-6 situation? So, Young is playing with house money right now, but if they win a couple more and get themselves in the playoff race, we'll see how well Young performs with so much more on the line. I don't believe he has the mental toughess to handle such scenarios based on his past track record.

The Texans really hurt their chances tonight. They previously had lost to Blacksonville who are now 6-4, and effectively 2 games ahead now. I'm going to root for Miami, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh (in that order) to make the playoffs. (Texas can still pull it off, but it's an uphill battle).

I'll be heavily rooting against Denver and the Jags (and of course the Titans should they somehow sneak in)
 
I noticed that in crunch-time a lot of quarterbacks tend to finally throw to their white recievers. It happened with Peyton Manning two weeks ago vs. New England and last night Matt Schaub threw exclusively to Dane Anderson and Walter on the final drive. If it works, why not do it the whole game long?

The Vince Young fiasco this season proves without a doubt that black players are rooting with their play/effort - not trying when a white QB is at the helm and putting in their best effort when the black QB starts. No way a team, including the defense, goes from one of the best in the league - to can't come close to winning a game the next year - to can't lose a game with the unproductive magical negroe at the helm.
 
Tennessee went through this before. Young had a good run a couple of seasons ago and then his true skills showed themselves. There is no reason to believe that won't happen again.
 
Steve Slaton dropped an easy five yard pass on a key third down play in the 4th quarter. The announcers downplayed it saying he wouldn't have gotten the 1st down anyway. But we'll never know, will we?

The penalty on the horse collar to me is conclusive proof that the NFL has it's pet teams every year and they get the refs help. Funny thing is, it's not just the NFL. Every media outlet has mentioned the help from the refs that Florida and Alabama have been getting. And it's true, it's all about the dollars.

The god awful fawning and gushing over Young is truly sickening. I turned the volume down when the Titans had the ball because I honestly couldn't stomach it.
 
It's also worth noting that after the game-ending kneel-down by Young, he turned around and high-fived the ref. I found that to be a little disconcerting.
 
The love by the caste whores for Vince Young which borders on creepy and sexual is beyond sickening, but is also predictable. We all knew that at the first chance they got these queens would be practically giving oral sex to a black black quarterback, it is in the script. I am just going to ignore it and wait for the inevitable day when the talking heads are left scratching their heads as to why he either completely bombs again or fails to get it done come crunch time. Thankfully it will be easy since I can't stomach more than about 10 minutes of NFL football on any given week. Vince Young is still the same run first minded black quarterback he always was, a turnover machine waiting to happen. He has already had the potential to have 6 turnovers, 2 by picks and 4 by fumbles in the 5 games he has seen action. For any white QB who put up his anemic dink and dunk stats he would be under close scrutiny. He certainly wouldn't be getting credit for doing anything but managing the game and doing enough not to lose. However, with Vince Young they usually claim he is the catalyst for winning, which is upside down and backwards to what their usual script entails. They do it of course because he is black and they are desirous to have as many black black quarterbacks as possible seem like indispensable stars.

He survives by the short passing game and the fact that he has a running back who has rushed for over 130 yards every game since he took over under center, 228 yards in Young's first start. Gee, you don't think that guy was running just a tad bit harder for a black QB do ya? He might survive another season or two, but there will always be serious disadvantages to his style of play big games late in the season and especially the playoffs when he will be forced to throw the ball more than what he is accustomed to. As Don stated, these big bounces for black coaches and QB's rarely last. He is not an elite passer and he never will be. He hasn't really progressed at all in four years under the same system in Tennessee. To steal a theme from Dennis Green, He is who we thought he was. Even as thick headed and blindly conformist NFL coaches appear to be on a weekly basis, they too will eventually figure out the right formula to Vince Young once again. Edited by: Bear Backer

That's not saying much though is it? Jamucous is probably the worst Quarterback I have ever had the displeasure of watching with maybe the exception of Kordell Stewart or Henry Burris for the Bears.
 
Horrible loss for the Texans. A few caste football observations:
Gruden and Jaworski's homo-erotic love-fest for Vince Young was nauseating. Particularly when they drooled over Young's combine video running the 40 in spandex.

Young is effective in converting long 3rd downs with his feet. In the second half he took advantage of a fatigued Texans defense. This is not a long-term viable way to run a successful NFL offense. His wide receivers are going to want the ball at some point. Also, Young got in several negro jawing sessions instead of returning to the huddle to run the next play; indicative of his immaturity and a lack of leadership. This will be a short-lived run of success.

Lastly, Alge Crumpler is a fat sumo. Can you name a white tight end in the history of the NFL that was allowed on the field looking like that? Is Crumpler such a superior afflete that he can be 50 pounds overweight and still keep a job? Unbelievable.

Great points. I had similar thoughts watching the game. Didn't Alge used to be a pass catching TE? Now he is just an extra tackle.

I was thinking that too. But of course Gruden was insisting that Crumpler and Bo Scaife were invaluable to the team.
