Ertz signing for 1 year up to 5 million for Commander. Good signing for Howell or maybe even Drake Maye soldi safety valve and slot option. Not much in the way of tight ends there either so good place to go.

Has two big-time messed up feet, which caused him to fall all the way from the first round to early second. Now if he had "boring feet" like so many White linemen have to go with the tiny little arms, Newton would be a FA. Does anyone wanna bet that this guy won't be a bust?

Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz reports Commanders rookie DT Johnny Newton had successful surgery on his foot.
Newton needed surgery for a Jones fracture after needing surgery on his opposite foot earlier this year. Once projected as a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Newton fell to the No. 36 pick with teams exercising some concerns on his feet. He was scooped up by Washington, who hope to add him to a healthy defensive line. Schultz reports the Commanders are optimistic that Newton will make a full recovery before the regular season.

I've said it before: Only far-left white virtue signalers have a problem with the Redskins name. Indians don't care.

As often is the case, woke whites getting offended for others. Reminds me of all the outcries of cultural appropriaton when kids get dressed as Natives or Mexicans for Halloween...

Winner No. 3

Luke McCaffrey - Commanders WR

Luke McCaffrey might be relatively new to the wide receiver position, but he's not showing it. The No. 100 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft is growing in confidence with each week that goes by this offseason. His latest showing at the Dolphins in Preseason Week 2 only whet the appetite further about what he could potentially bring to Kliff Kingsbury's offense.

McCaffrey is an explosive route-runner who knows the importance of body control and manipulation. He comes from an exceptional NFL bloodline and it shows. Bringing in both of his targets for 30 receiving yards represents another big step in a positive direction.

The former Rice star also made his presence felt as a gunner on special teams. This was somewhat surprising and added another string to his bow. Just how much time he'll see in this discipline if given prominent reps on the offensive rotation is anyone's guess. However, it's not a bad trick to have up your sleeve.

There's a growing belief the Commanders can get some immediate output from McCaffrey while he develops all areas of his game as a rookie. Dependability is everything in the NFL, he's got that in abundance.

Luke McCaffrey may be another White rookie this season who doesn't have to serve a racial apprenticeship. The trading away of Jahan Dotson helps Luke's chances as besides Terry McLaurin the Commanders have a bunch of nondescript mediocrities at WR:

McCaffrey has less competition for playing time after the Commanders traded Jahan Dotson to the Eagles on Thursday. McCaffrey strictly worked with Washington's second- and third-string offenses in the first two preseason games, but a lack of talent at WR behind Terry McLaurin suggests it may not be long before the rookie third-round pick gets regular playing time. Dyami Brown and Olamide Zaccheaus have been splitting perimeter snaps opposite McLaurin on the first-team offense, with Dotson getting most of the slot work pre-trade. McCaffrey has worked both outside and inside this summer, and at 6-foot-2 with 4.46 speed he isn't necessarily limited to the slot.

I like how they have to point this out to the DWF's. White receiver = slot, in a DWF mind, just like white RB = FB. He should be able to crack the starting lineup, after all Zaccheaus was a little man......

McCaffrey continues to get positive reviews, including this one: https://riggosrag.com/posts/luke-mc...ially-leaving-station-washington-01j5zwtckc1y

But then a single BSPN hack writes something negative about Luke and Weenieworld immediately piles on, and I've seen other media outlets subsequently echo it. So we won't know for sure how he's being used until the season starts:

ESPN’s John Keim writes Luke McCaffrey “has not emerged as an obvious top-four wideout [for the Commanders] to open the season.” This shouldn’t come as a surprise. McCaffrey was a consensus Day 3 pick by draft experts and wound up being taken No. 100 overall. The five-year prospect has only been playing receiver for two seasons, and didn’t face the stiffest of competition at Rice. McCaffrey’s elite family bloodlines and athleticism have made him an interesting name to monitor for fantasy managers, but it doesn’t sound like he’s anywhere close to earning a starting gig. Olamide Zaccheaus and Dyami Brown seem to be the No. 2 and No. 3 receivers in Washington for the time being.

Both the Commanders' official website and OurLads list Luke McCaffrey as one of the team's three starting WRs. Let's hope so and that the rookie QB Daniels is able to throw capably. Looking forward to watching Luke, Ladd McConkey, and Ricky Pearsall when he's able to go this season. Three highly drafted White receivers taken in the same year, hasn't happened in a long time. Brock Bowers too of course, and the four White rookie RBs, another event that hasn't happened in ages even if only two of them were drafted.

The things Men say to get into a woman’s pants. Enteen turns out to be the mouth breather in this one.

The good news: Luke McCaffrey played 61% of the snaps in his first NFL game, behind only Terry McLaurin among Washington receivers. He also led the team in receiving yards. The bad news: It only took 19 yards to lead the team, indicating that the Commanders' passing game may stink big-time this season.

Nonsense! They have an electrifying new QB who is revolutionizing the game! Meanwhile I figure the over/under on this phenom getting injured to be around 6 games.
