Carcharias, how do you like this kids chances? Is this Russell any good? It's surprising a white fighter gets two title shots in only his third pro fight.
Lomachenko had probably the best amateur record of all-time.

LOMACHENKO IS CHAMPION!!! Wow, spectacular win for Vasyl, and he has just made history as tying world record for becoming a world champion with the fewest fights (3). Lomachenko boxed expertly and outclassed Russell, hurting him numerous times. Lomachenko's defense was masterful and Russell was unable to land anything cleanly all night. I scored the fight 117-111, and I found the judges' cards to be too close but at least the right man won.
Russell hardly landed a clean, effective punch during the entire fight.

I scored it 118-110 for Lomachenko, giving Russell two rounds when he simply outworked Vasyl.

One corrupt judge had it a draw(Lisa Giampa)! Luckily the other 2 were not on the take. Great performance by Lomo. Man, the lower weight boxing world could be his with in the 2 years.
I hope his team realizes that nobody is going to do him a favour when it comes to judging or officiating. He should have won this fight going away and the decision was relatively tight with the judge related to Chuck Giampa showing nepotism is alive and well in boxing. Ps the Ghost while looking rusty and a tad soft around the middle showed why he ground out wins against all of his opponents less Gayfeather as his eye was closed from the 6th round and he had his aggressive Japanese opponent on egg shells down the stretch of the fight.

I was amazed that they didn't award the fight to Russell. I always expect the worst from the crooked a-hole judges and I'm usually not disappointed. At least the female a-hole judgette from Las Vegas (naturally) didn't let me down. Lisa Giampa is a negress married to another crooked Las Vegas judge ("crooked las vegas judge" - that's redundant), Chuck Giampa, white. All in the family.

Russell has a strong chin and body. Lom. would have knocked almost everyone else out with those hard punches he was landing.

People above were saying that the ref for this fight, Jack Reis, was crooked too, but he did an excellent job and stayed out of the picture like a good ref should. They weren't clinching so that made his job easier.

Lisa is Chuck Giampa's mulatto daughter.

Her dad works for The Ring magazine, owned by Golden Boy, Russell's promoter.

Russell isn't talented, but he does have an amazingly good chin. He's like an mini Oliver McCall.

The Jewish judge Jack Reiss was fair last night, but he was the worst I've ever seen in Kessler-Ward.

Perhaps Reiss didn't want to upset Bob Arum by being unfair to one of his cash cows. :kev:

Ah so, the plot thickens!

BoxRec gives the wrong info. It says that she's his wife:

"Lisa Giampa is the wife of fellow-judge and official Chuck Giampa."

Some people are saying she's his wife, but she looks young and he's old, probably in his 60s. I'm not sure. Some people in the boxing forums say she's his daughter.

No doubt, being a person of color and hence rooting for Russell had an effect on her scorecard. She gave rounds one and two to Russell, even though Loma landed ALL the clean, effective punches in those rounds.

There were no clinches or dirty fighting from either boxer for the whole fight, so there wasn't really an opportunity for Reiss to get involved. I agree with werewolf that Reiss did a good job last night, but just keep in mind it was a very easy fight to ref. As for the judging, Lisa Giampa's score was horrible. It may be due to bias or incompetence, she looks young and this is the first time I've seen her judge. Probably is new to judging. But her scorecard was horrible.

Also, I noticed last night that Showtime was being a lot fairer to Lomachenko (non-Golden Boy, non-black) in their commentary. Al Bernstein who is is typically anti-white was honest in admitting Lomachenko dominated the fight. Keep in mind Golden Boy has just lost Richard Schaefer, and Oscar has pledged to renew business with Top Rank (Lomo's promoter). Oscar seems to be taking a more white-friendly direction with the company. It seemed like after Maidana was robbed to Mayweather Oscar was angry and sought to change his company.

I scored the fight 117-111, and the 3 rounds I gave to Russell were only because Lomo took them off and seemed to be resting himself. Russell was unable to land a good punch for the whole fight. Lomo's defense was outstanding. Quite literally, it seemed like Russell just couldn't land a single, clean shot. Paulie Malignaggi stated that during the broadcast saying that he never saw Lomo's head snap back all fight. On the contrary, Lomachenko was landing right hooks, jabs, and lefts at will. I'm surprised Russell wasn't KO'd because hetook some brutal punches. This fight was a domination start to end.

According to BoxRec she has (mis)judged A LOT of fights.

I didn't see the Kessler fight, but Reiss was fine last night. He warned Russell about low blows at the end. Even the announcers were good and fair. Very unusual, Only the mulatto judgette behaved as expected, and even tho she's from from Las Vegas, the world's most crooked city, the fight wasn't. If it had been in her home town she'd probably have scored it a shutout for Russell, and maybe they could have put Joe Cortez in the ring
to lend a hand.

Al Bernstein did his usual "the white boxer is much bigger" at the beginning of the fight. Saying the white boxer has some kind of an advantage is a trick they always use. Sometimes he'll say the white fighter has the advantage of being "more experienced" if the white fighter is older, or "has the advantage of being younger" if the white fighter is younger.

Max Kellerman and Teddy Atlas always do that when they think a white fighter is going to win, so to discredit the win: they'll say the white boxer has an advantage in youth, size, experience, the black fighter came in on shorter notice, etc. Kellerman was going on about Kovalev being "huge" and "much bigger" when he fought Agnew, but also "bigger" (thicker and more muscular) when he fought the taller, longer Sillakh.

The truth is, Russell and Lomachenko were the same weight at the weigh-in, and weighed virtually the same on fight night.

If a stocky white fighter fought a taller slimmer black fighter, Bernstein would say something like "(the white boxer) is the bigger man, he has a thicker frame and bone structure".

Guess I was just not paying attention. I try to ignore those blithering idiots, and in fact I much prefer fights with announcers talking in a foreign language that I don't understand. Used to be announcers would announce the fight, like, "it's a left and a right..." instead of teams of idiots chit chatting with each other

Masterful performance from Lomo. He didn't fade away and pout for a year or two, the way some boxers do after a disappointing loss. He came right back and boxed like a fifty fight veteran in only his third pro fight.

Gotta respect how Russell hung in there, but he was ready to go in that last round. Another minute and he would have been stopped.

With this fight Lomo put himself near the top of his profession, in contrast to that Gaimpa beehatch, who showed the world she resides at the bottom of her already suspect profession. She should be banned from boxing for that scorecard but instead she'll get more gigs because she's juiced in.

Lomo and Lisa. The best and worst boxing has to offer.

Fighters who are elite such Lomo, should during negotiations for future marquee fights ban crooked judges such as Giampa. I am surprised more elite fighters do not do it more.

Thats right, Lomo will be fighting on the Pacquiao vs Algieri undercard tomorrow night. I have to work during the day, but look forward to watching it on a stream, which are always provided by CF HOFer Carcharias.
Sorry, I can't post a link to a PPV stream because of potential legal action that might be taken against this site.
