I wish Loma would have stayed at 130. At that weight, he is the best of all time. At 135, he is fighting people who are physically bigger than he is. I admire his integrity and greatness doing this, but I don't think it is fair. Duran absolutely dominated the lightweights. Yes the size gulf was enormous it allowed the ethnic PR fighter to take more blows in the early rounds. Admittedly I had two screens on when this fight happened as saw the Paul vs Silva circus too but Loma was in a dogfight until about the midpoint of the fight and then he won 5 or 6 of the last 6 rounds and won fairly comfortably after that but if that was Haney he wouldn't have let Loma walk in and score with shots without getting by a string of jabs and dealing with movement.

The Loma that destroyed the Japanese national and paper champion Commey beats Haney but the Loma of last night at best is a coin flip with Haney for a decision victory.

I just logged in to post the same thing. It's been frustrating me for a years as a Loma fan, I just don't understand it. He looked unbeatable at super featherweight and featherweight, his prime weight.. he just dominated guys. He's always at a disadvantage giving up height, weight and reach, and losing punch power by fighting at lightweight. Which is why he's had plenty of close fights at lightweight. Wish he'd have just won a title and moved back down again and whooped everyone at super featherweight.
