i don't know rebaljo, have anybody here been satisfied with what the all white teams from eastern europe, the balkans etc did?

Frederic -

I was only saying that eastern European Poland (****, I can just imagine a legion of furious Poles choking on their bile upon seeing the phrase “eastern European Poland” and instantly snarling that Poland is a central European nation… ;)) haven’t been a disappointment in this tournament. Well, at least in terms of concrete results on paper as opposed to strikers’ ratio of goals to scoring chances…

As You may recall, I embarked upon a bitterly venomous rant about the under-achievement of all-White eastern European teams in the 2014 World Cup thread:

http://castefootball.us/index.php?threads/2014-world-cup-finals-part-two.16576/page-23#post-305892

Constant disparagement of Negroes is great but - unfortunately - our arguments begin to look a bit spurious if all-White sides continue to be beaten by the likes of France and if teams featuring three or more non-Whites continue to progress to the latter stages of the major tournaments.

There is a serious lack of professionalism and fitness among the smaller(white) nations, whatever about the talent deficit due to population size, you should never lack for effort, pressing, positioning, marking, tracking back, dynamism etc, that is the bare minimum you expect from professional players, the "gritty, high motor" stereotype. Take Ireland for example, far too many slow players whose legs have gone, no way should they have lost to France, who are a poor team playing aimlessly with no heart or desire.

an example of lack of professionalism was hungary against belgium, on the first goal the free kick was well taken by debruyne and all but no hungarian player was going for the ball, they were looking and not actually playing:

last time i saw anything like that was brazil against france in 2006

hungary even has a german coach reportedly but on this free kick hungary didn't look like a german team at all

Up next for Poland is a Portuguese team that has been mostly garbage thus far. Portugal drew all their group games and trailing on three occasions against Hungary just managed to squeak into the knockout round despite a ridiculous number of teams being allowed to qualify. Their win against Croatia was extremely lucky - not a single shot or serious attack until 116 minutes! They haven't won in 90 minutes yet here they are. They or Poland or Belgium could end up in the final because "the big boys" - Spain, Italy, Germany, France, and (I suppose) England:eek: - are all loaded on the other side. In fact the English must be kicking themselves for not winning their group. It would've been their best chance to make a final since 1996, and back then they had to beat Germany.

OT but I don't want to start a new one. This could be just the emotion of the moment:

http://www.espnfc.us/copa-america/s...entina-after-copa-america-final-loss-to-chile

it's a harsh situation for messi, 3 final losses in the last 3 international competitions, 2 times on penalties and 1 time in extra time
i didn't want to create a thread about this competition because i feared for him because of how the last 2 competitions ended
i said i would create a thread only if argentina finally win, afterwards
but they did it again...
messi and argentina were excellent in this tournament though

funny how italy manages to score even without balotelli
it was only 2 years ago, maybe only 1 even, that they told us that there was no alternative, no other striker, that balotelli had to play

First off to address the issue of Eastern Europe failing again and again,it has to be noted that the footballing infrastructure(they are as Romosexual rightly noted, normally not as fit as their counterparts from Western Europe) they have is poor, and like Rebaljo said, the talent pool is ridiculously small.Croatia(Central Europe alright) being able to stitch up such a talented team with a meagre population of 4.5 million is miraculous. If Poland's misfiring strikers bring themselves up to pace, and they could make it to the final. But overall, they do disappoint to extent, for one is right to say that Russia,Ukraine should do better, much better.

And to Rebaljo, yes Fabianski has come a long way really sicne his Arsenal days and I'm very happy for him.He just fell a bit off my radar so I was a bit surprised when he came up with more than a "solid" performance, which was what I expected. But well, back then "Flappyhandsky" was truly appropriate.

Regarding Argentina, what should I say I just hope its pure emotion or its just that they're forcing an overhaul in their FA,as reports are now surfacing that Masceranho,Aguero etc. are also considering retirement. And no,I don't know anyone who is named Higuain.

Well, one great white hope had to exit today, and its Spain.

Chiellini opened the scoring : https://streamable.com/kwal

Should De Gea do better there?

Gigi Buffon made a huge save in the 89th minute : https://streamable.com/d62o

Had that gone in,it'd have been a different story for Pelle's goal came after that : https://streamable.com/n6k0

I just hope that Spain realise that "he keeps the dressing together" is no longer enough to be a great coach and just fire Luis Enrique. They can then follow that up by making Laporte sign up for the Spanish NT as France clearly aren't interested,so they have a real defense.

ThePhilosopher - You missed the best "streamable" highlight: Antonio Conte kicking the ball on the sideline!

England's crossing into the box was shocking. Just stunningly bad. They have no ideas at all going forward.

Stepped down,my ass!His contract is over, and there's no way he'll get a job as a groundsman with the FA now.Its a miracle they kept him after his 1 point in the WC.The caustic piece of anti-white **** called Greg Dyke kept him around as Hodgson was the most anti-white manager out there.Who else plays Welbeck,Sterling every game and what the hell is Rashford even doing in France?

Serves the English team and its fans who are drunk on so much money right though. They lost to a Country which has more Volcanoes than professional Footballers. Finally a White team ruins the caste equation completely in this round....Go Iceland!:clap2:

England's crossing into the box was shocking. Just stunningly bad. They have no ideas at all going forward.

Not only the crossing, but the even the simplest passes, and even set pieces going into the gutter. It was also appalling to see how easily the Icelandic players were winning the ball back. As the time passed, the English looked more and more mentally drained and just couldn't cope with the pressure. Incredible mental fragility for a team of that caliber.

I recorded the England/Iceland game to watch after work today, and boy, am I glad I ever did! What a game from Iceland!! It's awesome to see Iceland, with a population of 330,000, in the last eight!! What an achievement for Iceland!! Hopefully, the can keep it going against France.

England started 5 blacks tonight; good riddance to the 2nd most non-white team in the tournament after the hosts.

As an aside, it was hilarious listening to Ian Darke and Steve McManaman on ESPN criticizing and trashing the England team through the entire game.
