the new season's champions league started, with the qualifying play-offs

some things worth noticing from these play-offs is that the very non-white udinese won't play champions league, the south american team braga beat them
also bate borisov qualified
i didn't watch any of these matches, so if somebody know how bate borisov is doing right now, and what we can expect from them at this champions league, please tell it (i think that it was giles' favorite team)
they have the whitest team in the champions league and they also have many local players

not all the play offs have been played
lille (very black like all french teams, althought white for a french team) might lose against copenhagen
not too exciting because all the middlefielders and strikers of copenhagen were brazilians, costa ricans, or other south americans

the major factor for trying to guess what club will win this very prestigious competition are usually:
-which team has enough time to prepare the matches - it implies that they have either a very large squad so they almost play champions league and the national league with 2 diferent teams, or they don't take the national league seriously (because they are very dominant, like barcelona possibly this season, or because they have no chance to win it anymore - like chelsea last year - so they focus on champions league)

-which team has a solid (white) defense, like chelsea last year
last year barcelona's defence was too weak, they had fitness problems and some players might be too old
this year i can see busquets playing as a central defender in the big matches, and song as defensive middlefielder

There weren’t too many surprises in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League and the Eastern European teams (with the exception of Dinamo Zagreb and Dynamo Kyiv) weren’t at their best, so we won’t see any clubs making their debuts in the group stages. F 91 Dudelange from Luxembourg (their star player is Aurelian Joachim) eliminated the Austrian champions Red Bull Salzbourg and Aris Limassol (very few Cypriots) won 2:0 on aggregate against Serbian club Partizan, but the former are now out of the competition while the latter have secured qualification for the group phase of the UEFA Europa League.

Udinese vs. Braga was an interesting encounter, it took a failed Panenka chip to decide the tie (I like watching penalty shootouts :)).

We can expect great things from BATE in this year’s edition of the Champions League…the Belarusians were not very convincing in the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] preliminary rounds (they were close to being eliminated by a Macedonian club), but thery have now hit top gear. Yesterday they were quite tidy from a defensive standpoint and managed to hold on against a strong Israeli team (Ironi Kiryat Schmona). Their starting line-up featured 10 Belarusians and 1 Serbian (3 Belarusians came on as subs, Bressan remained an unused substitute). Aliaksandr Hleb (who made a name for himself with "Stuttgart" and "Arsenal") and Mikhail Sivakov (former captain of the Belarus U-21 team) are currently playing for the team from Barysaw. BATE are now capable of dictating the tempo of games and no longer need to rely on their defense and goalkeeper to bail them out.

If they are lucky with the draw and manage to avoid teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid, it’s not out of the question that they could reach the 1/16 finals (by finishing in second place in their group). At the very least I hope that they could get their first win in the group stages of the Champions League. BATE may still sign two or three new players (Vitali Kutuzov who is currently a free agent is a good option for them).

here are the pots for the draw:

you have to pick 1 team of each pot to have a group

bate borisov are in the worst pot, the will play against 1 team from the 1st pot, 1 from the 2nd, and one from the 3rd
in the 3rd pot there are many "easy" teams like the french teams (except PSG) and ajax is not outstanding

they'll need to beat a team from the pot 2: i hope that they will avoid the south american teams like braga, benfica
ofcourse if they could play against manchester city it would be hard but interesting, and not impossible

Milan in the first pot is only because of historic reasons. This year's Milan will not go very far, I'm afraid.
To se Nordsjaelland, a team from a city of 18000 people in this competition stage is heartwarming, together with Bate Borisov.
Welcome back to Celtic.
By the way, I was watching Lille yesterday and are relatively White team for a French team. I was surprised.

milan will most likely struggle in serie A and they don't have enough quality players to do well in both chamions league + serie A at the same time
they are the weakiest team in the pot 1

don't get too excited about the danish club :icon_mrgreen:
like most scandinavian clubs they get the african players that are not good enough to play in our very weak ligue 1
then there are the scandinavian blacks, i see that this club has quite a few of them
then the iranians and other muslims

and yes, lille is quite white for a french club, and they didn't even have debuchy (injuried) and hazard (gone to chelsea)
but they are still a frecnh club, so they have 4-5 black starters

I'm watching the draw at the UEFA website. Milan and Zenit St Petersburg are in the same group. I disagree with historic accomplishments being considered for a draw like this. As if players like Robinho have any connections to Milan players of the past. Manchester City and Real Madrid are paired. I would love to see Man City flop in this tournament. Arsenal look like they will get a relatively easy group - Schalke, Olympiakos, and Montpellier. Giroud gets to go back to Montpellier.

zenith has a nice group, hopefully they can beat ac milan

then dortmund, one of the whitest teams in europe, will face manchester city (real madrid is also in the group and should finish first)
the problem is that dortmund might not take the champions league seriously (like last year) because they want to win the german league and they don't have enough depth in the team

I would love to see Man City flop in this tournament

they already flopped really badly last year, if they do the same this year it would be fantastic

Even the officials and the coach said that this year the team will have to perform way better than last year. Last year’s performance was, considering that they played against “mediocreâ€￾ Olympique Marseille/Olympiacos and not really world-class Arsenal, just awful. Just keep in mind that in the 11/12 season Bayern beat Real, Manchester City and Marseille, while Dortmund thrashed Bayern 3 times (1:0, 1:0 and 5:2).

marseille is a typical example
they are not a very talented team
but last year they were horrible in the french league, and they soon lost all hopes of qualifying to next year's champions league so they focused on the current champions league
this while top clubs like dortmund didn't take champions league seriously because they wanted to win their domestical league
the result was marseille thrashing dortmund 3-0, an impossible result under normal conditions
then the same goes for marseille's succes against internazionale, which was way superior but was in trouble in their domestical league and still wanted to qualify for next year's champions league so they weren't focused when they faced marseille

another example: chelsea was hopeless in premier league so they soon focused entirely on champions league, while they faced teams like benfica who had to play this champions league match at the same time than a very important match for the title in the portuguese league (they played the very big match in the portuguese league against fc porto, then in the same month they faced chelsea in champions league - and there was another match against fc porto in the same month, in the portuguese cup)

a big champions league match takes more than 1 month of trainig entirely focused only on this match

Zenit St. Petersburg just signed two black players for 40 millon euros apiece. Hulk from Porto and Axel Witsel, from Benfica. In total 80M Euros.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19471132

This is a team that used to be all-White and whose fans opensly opposed signing any Blacks. Only a few weeks ago they "scared away" the black "French international" Yann M'Vila http://rt.com/sport/football/mvila-zenit-racism-arsenal-340/ and are recognized as the most "racist" fans in Russia. The former CSKA black Brazilian star Vagner Love, who recalls his voyages to the Zenit Petrovsky Stadium as a nightmare http://rt.com/sport/football/zenit-racist-team-russia-628/ . However, now the Zenit management shells out 80 million euros for 2 black players.
There is no religion anymore. I'm curious if there will be any fan reaction or if Zenit will became yet another "rainbow" team.

hulk's transfert can be explained by reasons realted to sports, but witsel is the only "european" in a club full of south-american players, if they want to buy someone from benfica it should be cardozo
witsel is over-rated because his team has good results, but the only reasons why benfica does well in champions league is because they have so many south american players

here is chelsea's roster for the champions league:

Cech, Turnbull - Ivanovic, Cole, Luiz, Ferreira, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Bertrand - Romeu, Ramires, Lampard, Oscar, Obi Mikel, Hazard, Marin, Piazon - Torres, Mata, Moses, Sturridge.

6 blacks and 16 whites
the blacks are wingers/fullbacks/defensive middlefielders, except ramires

I don't understand. For that kind of money they could have gotten some top White players. As a striker they could have bought Llorente or Soldado from Spain, Giroud from France, even Higuain from Argentina, not this clown "Hulk"... Same story in the middlefield... Take a look how top many White middlefielders they could have bought instead of this Axel Witsel (I never heard of this player, by the way)... Megaflop potential in my opinion.

hulk? he's going there for the money, and i bet that he will have trouble with the weather
witsel is one of these over-hyped belgian players
witsel doesn't even have the ability to play as a titular in a top european club but i'm pretty sure that he will play no matter how bad he is, since they paid so much for him

you mention that they could have bought so many great white foreign players, but i was very surprised that after their victory in the europa league they sold both pogrebnyak and arshavin
typical modern football
these 2 players qualified zenith for the champions league but were transfered in clubs where they didn't even play champions league

they are only 3 non-whites in the team, but they are high profile players
the funny thing is that they will still be one of the whitest teams in europe
i will still root for them both in champions league and in the russian league but....

notice how many players from portugal they have: hulk and witsel both come from the portuguese league, and they also have danny and the portuguese alves
football looking more and more like organized crime

time to up this thread, because champions league starts tonight, all the matches will be played at 20h45 european time:

dinamo zagreb - FC porto
paris saint germain - dynamo kiev

olympiakos - shalke 04
montpellier - arsenal

malaga - zenith
ac milan - anderlecht

dortmund - ajax
real madrid - manchester city

the most interesting match will be real madrid vs manchester city, i'm rooting for real madrid
also i hope that dortmund will win against ajax but i'm not sure if they will be focused on champions league this year
the disgusting ac milan will start with an easy match
i hope that the joke that montpellier is will be thrashed by arsenal, maybe with giroud scoring his first goal for his new club

i'll also root for paris saint germain and malaga (althought maybe zenith will be whiter for this match because witsel can't play)

finally a french club i can root for

8 whites, 2 brazilian mestizos and 1 black
only 3 non-whites and 2 of them are brazilian, the only black is a defensive middlefielder

remember they are from a league where more than 50% of the starters each week are blacks, so whites are much less than 50% each week in france
but here they are more than 70%!

here is what the club looked like 2 years ago, when they were a mediocre french club: http://img0.cfstatic.com/wallpapers/f0db26948522bb2d763de15fa62095f2_large.jpeg
they had 3 non-blacks, now they have 3 non-whites and they are one of the best teams in europe

(in case you are wondering, there are 3 french players in the starting 11: jallet, chantome and menez - matuidi is french also but he's black...)

dynamo kiev is a disgrace, full of africans and brazilians
this was the club that produced shevchenko, the best striker in recent times (90's), the only one that beat the brazilian ronaldo (shevchenko was more physical and more complete althought less "gifted"), shevchenko is our pride

[video=youtube_share;gS8KA6DjUNo]http://youtu.be/gS8KA6DjUNo[/video]

now they have yarmolenko but their team is disgusting

Extremely entertaining second half between Real Madrid and Man City. In fairness the non-whites generally played well for both teams. Even Benzema scored! It's a miracle! Di Maria played some of his best football tonight.

i watched the second half, i don't think that both teams were 100%, especially real madrid with varane as a central defender, and marcelo while coentrao was suposed to play (marcelo was guilty in the defeat against sevilla)

benzema's goal is pretty beautiful too, not a tap-in, it looks like a goal that a good player would score
that's why he's better than balotelli
but he will always lack the "killer instinct" and the athletic qualities (he's way too stiff)

interesting how for a top club like real madrid or manchester city the starting 11 can change totally between premier league and champions league:

here is the breakdown in premier league according to rebajlo's posts:
Started: 2 Whites (1 Englishman), 7 blacks, 1 mestizo, 1 Arab

in this champions league match they had 4 whites (+david silva who's partly asian), 4 blacks, 1 mestizo and 1 arab

can you believe that ac milan, at home, didn't manage to score against anderlecht? 0-0
ac milan started as many blacks (3) as anderlecht
when as an italian club you start as many blacks as a belgian club it's time to give it up
check out the players anderlecht have: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R.S.C._Anderlecht#Current_squad :scared:

malaga easily won against zenith, they started the match with 2 non-whites (a brazilian and a black portuguese) - zenith had the exact same racial make-up
both teams should qualify and i hope that they kick ac milan out of the competition

Lewandowski saved the win for Borussia vs Ajax. 1:0

these are 3 very important points
i was surprised to see that ajax was pretty white
but dortmund has only 1 turk in the starting 11 which is astonishing

dortmund used the exact same players than in their latest bundesliga match (which was 3 days ago) except grosskreutz who didn't play today
that's a HUGE disadvantage compared with the very rich clubs that have many more substitutes
for example if lewandowsky is injuried, they have no other striker since they sold lucas barrios
when they will play against manchester city especially it will be a hue disadvantage - but i still hope that they will be able to kick manchester city out of the champions league early

I didn't see that match but judging by the highlights on the news the Anderlecht keeper made a couple of big saves.

Seems like some very good results for us today.

I really like the Dortmund team. Aside from being extremely White they have some top German and Polish players (my 2 main ancestries). Götze, Reus, Hummels and Lewendowski, Blaszczykowski, Piszczek are some personal favorites. Hopefully they can advance.

Arsenal winning in France was big and Giroud started. Too bad he could not score against his former club.

It might not be a "caste" win (don't know the racial break down) but I'm glad Schalke won against Olympiakos in Greece. I don't like the useless Afro-German mutt Jermaine Jones but I really enjoy watching Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. He's a goal scoring machine.

It goes without saying that whenever Man City loses it's a good thing. And as a bonus, their 2 goals were scored by Whites.

I hope for continued success for "our" teams going forward.
