What a result for Dortmund! I'm all-in for this team. They are a very likeable mix of young budding German and Polish talent. I hope Robert Lewandowski is finally recognized as one of the premier strikers in the world. What a talent.

Only complaint is that Mario Götze is chasing the big bucks and transferring to Bayern München, of all teams, this summer. If Dortmund beats Bayern, how can any "star" player justify transferring to an inferior squad if their goal is "to win championships"?

I understand what you're saying and the Gotze transfer is one of the worst timed ever. However, Bale is the best British player in the world at the moment so if Spurs don't make the Champions League he won't get to show his talents on the sport's biggest stage. Needless to say he's unlikely to play in a World Cup or Euro nations as the Welsh aren't good enough.

Dortmund go through, though only just. I'll be curious to see if Bender who went down from a tackle for well over two minutes - which I doubt were added on to stoppage time - plays on the weekend. His "injury" took the wind out of Real's sails. I don't know if a free kick was called for Modric's challenge as Ronaldo was running with the ball so it seemed late but Dortmund certainly did not give the ball back to Real. Our commentator never mentioned it so maybe a free kick was given rather than a play stoppage due to injury.

Higuain was terrible. He missed a great chance, then another due to a lazy offside. In fact he was hopeless the whole match getting caught offside again later on - not that it mattered as he was too clumsy to control the pass. To make matters worse Benzema played well when he replaced him. I can't help but think Real only have a couple of world class players such as Ronaldo and Alonso. Modric shows potential and played well tonight. Di Maria and Ozil are too inconsistent - tonight Ozil had a terrible miss. Kaka has been a complete waste of money. Pepe's fine as is Marcelo but Varane, Essien, and the astonishingly overrated Khedira don't belong on a team of Real Madrid's stature. As for Mourinho, he's gone at the end of the season.

Atrocious defending by Brazilian Adriano to allow Arjen Robben to cut in and score on his left foot. Everyone in world football knows Robben has only one foot. He can't even pass the ball a couple of yards with his right so why worry about him getting a very sharp angle shot with his right foot? No wonder Brazilians have a reputation for not being able to defend. (Dani Alves has also outlived his usefulness in defence - Ribery had the better of him a number of times in the first leg).

Barca have struggled throughout this year's Champions League even losing to Celtic. Perhaps they are no longer used to real competition week in week out in La Liga? They definitely need to do something to shore up their defence for next year.

The events of the last tweek were momentous. Barca's cycle is finished and the tika-taka era also seems to be drawing to a close.
However, I think Barca with a couple of targetted signings could re-emerge next year as strong as ever. Barca needs a bit of muscle, as illustrated by the third goal scored by Bayern where Muller scored an overpowering header by brushing aside 2 smallish Barca defenders and their haples goalkeeper. I am certainly not an admirer of the English "physical" game and their teams packed with African bodybuilders. However Barca went to the other extreme, fielding a team of technically perfect ball juggling midgets.
If Barca buys (for example) Mats Hummels (who offered another "presidential" performance against Real, especially in the home game) and Giorgio Chiellini from Juventus, a decent goalkeeper (Hart from Man City would be ideal) and a muscular "number 9" forward who could score headers (Bayern's Mandzukic, for example, would be a good fit) they will be back pretty soon. Also, their playing style has to be more direct. Even Celtic already knows how to play against them. Their game cannot continue to be a "Messi support system", aimed at letting Leo reach yet another scoring record and yet another golden boot. Football is a team sport.
A word about the re-emergence of Germany in the football world. Already twice in this century the re-emergence of Germany on the political/economic scene has been heralded by footballing events. Their surprising victory on the 1954 World cup ("Nothing can stop these ulovable people" titled the Daily Mirror) has marked the re-emergence of Germany as the economic/industrial (but not yet political) powerhouse of Europe after the ruins of WWII. Their victory on the 1990 World Cup coincided with re-unification and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Given the current situation in Europe, can this (and their possible success during next year World Cup in Brazil) be a signal for another rebirth for this nation around which European history hinges so much? And I'm not talking about the re-emergence of the uberpoliticallycorrect Germany of Angela Merkel which is totally subservient to the globalist elites, and neither about the re-emergence of the narrowly German-centric Third Reich, but a new Germany that could be a leader (but not a dominator) of a new, better Europe, euro-centric Europe? If the Germans can't pull this off, nobody can. Maybe I'm making too much out of this, but... Anyway, go Dortmund!

Of course, they do have too many blacks in the BPL, but I wouldn't call MU or Chelsea, with players like Mata, Hazard and Lampard overly physical. I like watching the BPL and Spain as well.

I like watching players like Bale, who combines speed and size, with good skill. He has more goals outside the box in the BPL than anybody.

Arsenal has a mostly white team now and still plays good football.

It will be interesting to see what Barca does next year with any signings.

I hope in happens, but I doubt Germany can pull it off. They have the weight of the holocaust on them, which they can't live down. That was probably the beginning of the end of Europe. They put people in jail in Germany
for denying the holocaust now.

saying that barcelona is finished is extremely harsh, they didn't have a good defense this season and like i always said the defense is the most important part of a team
they will have to replace puyol who seems to get older
in addition to this problem they lost many players becaus of suspensions, injuries (mascherano, alba, puyol) and they even lost messi!
i thought that he was acting like he was injuried against PSG but was just tired and tried to avoid an upcoming injury, but he was really injuried actually

yet they manage to win the spanish league and to reach the semis of the champions league
meanwhile some other rich clubs can't reach that level (manchester city, but i think that they're going in the good direction though) or have very disapointing seasons (chelsea)

they just need to keep messi healthy, get a good defense and maybe a good goalkeeper (lloris?) and they'll beat bayern munchen

now i'm rooting for dortmund, it would be awesome to have an all-white team winning the champions league and from the start of the season we all loved that team and rooted for them because they are the whitest team in the competition behind maybe clubs like bate borisov

dortmund should start 10 whites, 1 turk, it would be a dream come true to see them win the competition, but bayern munchen is way more rich and powerfull, they are the favourite to win this final

but bayern have black defenders so...everything is possible

It's going to be difficult, especially without Mario Gotze, but anything can happen. Bayern have a bad recent history in Champions League finals.

Slightly off topic but other than Dortmund I can't recall (off the top of my head) a great club team in my life that played in yellow - not counting away kits.

Kind of a shame that Dortmund had its lone non-white take the penalty. Maybe it was a ploy to sell him to Man United this summer for a billion pounds.

Dante is lucky they got away with that. He should be wearing a clown suit after that tackle. Also, the first shot on net for Dortmund, which was saved by Neuer, would have been offside if it weren't for Dante daydreaming. And then there's Boateng. The American commentator said it was ridiculous how often Boateng was lying on the ground. Arguably the ref could've sent off both Dante and Ribery. All in all though it was an entertaining match and I don't think anyone can deny that Bayern have been the best team in the world this year.

It was a good game. Dortmund dominated early then Bayern started to pick it up.

Matra is right. Bayern could have had to players sent off. Dante's could have been a yellow, although I do think he was going for the ball. That would have been his 2nd yellow. I thought back to Nani getting a straight red for his leg being up, which shouldn't have even been a yellow.



I also thought about De Rossi getting a red against the US when he elbowed Dempsey in the WC when Ribery used his elbow.

In a way I am glad that they stayed on because I like to keep all players on the field if possible.

The ref maybe figured that he gave a penalty so no need to give a yellow on Dante.

Götze is already gone I think that Lewandowski will be next (also to Bayern), at least I would sell him for 29 Mio € immediately.
There’s more than enough money to buy new players, the question is what kind of new players. Dortmund already bought a new defender (Sokratis) from Bremen, but I think that they should also buy Matthias Ginter from Freiburg or Daley Blind from Ajax. For the Midfield they should buy both De Bruyne and Eriksen (Or Isco). To replace Lewandowski will be hardest part though, and you mostly heard about Black players taking Lewandowski´s place until now (Aubameyang, Lukaku, Diouf, Benteke).
