At BEST Wilder won 4 rounds including the 2 10-8 rounds. Fury won at worst 8 of the 12. That should have been at least a 2 point victory on all scorecards for Fury.

That 12th round, man. Almost pulled defeat from the jaws of victory. Which it should have been but for some lousy judging.

Good thing the ref gave Fury a chance to get up. A lot of refs would have waved the fight over with that last knockdown.

Hock you hit on the main point, I have seen a lot of refs waved off a fight after a knockdown like Fury's. I know I couldn't believe he got up, so I have to give the ref a lot of credit for doing his job the right way.

The only other time I have seen a guy get up like this was Ruddock against Morrison after a similar sweeping hook. People theorized that Ruddock was shocked awake by the force of the blow. The difference was Fury was slightly stunned when he rose, while Ruddock was a dead man walking but Ruddock did this 20 years ago so we had less Mago, Superman Stevenson type incidents that have changed the way referees make this borderline judgement calls.

I don't care much about sports anymore, even though I consider them HEAVILY white dominated on a global scale and in America as well. Summer and Winter Olympics, X-Games, Auto and Motor Sports, the majority of popular sports (excluding basketball) and so on are very white dominated either in total numbers or high-paid/elite/popular players (American Football). I really do not see why some white brothers feel so alarmed about sports, but anyway sticking to the main topic of this thread, as a former semi-professional fighter myself and an avid-tennis player, Boxing, MMA and Tennis are the three sports I will still watch (when time allows it) and practice.

Fury became a cult-hero on Saturday night. The way he came back after a self-destructing 3-year lay-off and stood up on his legs on the 12th round are now part of history. I was extremely angry moments after the end of the fight, but I can now clearly see that the blatant robbery (once again against a white boxer from Europe, Kovalev vs Ward I&II, GGG vs Canelo (who I consider white genetically) and Loma vs Salido being the others) makes good not only to Fury's legacy, but the way boxing fans begin to see the DISCRIMINATION AND RACISM white boxers have to face, especially in the US. In every boxing forum I have checked, if you exclude these very few (they were the vast majority 10-15 years ago) African puppets with the very low IQ and severe inferiority complexes that can't accept defeat (even though they constantly feel defeated inside) and their typical white worshipers (what a disgusting group of people). I would say a good 90% of boxing fans and observers, including many blacks as Lennox Lewis, Badou Jacks, half of Mayweather's gym, Stephen Smith, Berto, give the victory to Fury. Adding to Fury's unusual style (way too quick for a 6'9 almost 260lbs giant), colorful personality and historic comeback, we are witnessing the birth of a boxing legend :)

When it comes strictly to boxing., I would like to mention something that I haven't seen someone mentioning yet. I don't know about Joshua and Fury, but
Usyk would totally embarrass Wilder and eventually KO or TKO him. Wilder was hurt a couple of times by Fury who couldn't hurt Wlad (who didn't have the best chin). I have heard that Usyk had hurted during sparring sessions not only Wlad but even the iron-chinned Vitaly (he confessed that himself and we all know Vitaly is way too proud to lie over something like this) when he was an amateur heavyweight.

I actually feel that "the feel" doesn't get the credit he deserves for his chin or power. You don't KO someone as Bellew as viciously as Usyk did if you have zero power like some boxing fans suggest. Wilder will miss all night long vs Usyk and will eventually be KO'd. If someone as Fury (throwing 7-8 punches per round and his usual 1-2 every now and then) can OBVIOUSLY hurt Wilder, imagine what Usyk's mad punching rate, unusual angles and crazy combos will do to him. At this point I am convinced that the 212lbs Wilder is literally easy money for Usyk (who may have the best chin of the current three heavyweight "kings" for all we know).

We may have more bewildering actions to come from Fury, I wasn't sure if Frank Warren was cashing him out before he went off the rails mentally in his comeback. At the moment he is on the verge of giving away his end of his 10 million US purse....ttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6453217/Tyson-Fury-pledges-donate-8million-help-homeless.html

3 things. 1. How about Buster Douglas recovering from a knockout vs Mike Tyson? The only reason I bring that up is because of this motivational video that speaks about Douglas's resiliency during that match. Who knows if what is said is actually close to factual at all and not just the case of M Tyson being overconfident in his preparation.

2. I recall hearing this recent Fury fight was the first US boxing match to be shown via pay-per-view since 2003 Mike Tyson vs LLewis. I found that interesting and just wrote it off to the rise of the superior MMA fights. However, before I clicked on this thread, I saw this stat.
Whites currently hold 17 of the 20 title belts from middleweight through heavyweight
This made me wonder if there was an ulterior motive to the lack of promotion of boxing outside of Manny P and Floyd M. I mean, why didn't the Klitschko brothers get the notoriety or had the sports media slob over them the way they did with a young Tyson, Holyfield, or Lewis? To be honest, I just wanted the Fury fight to go the way the highly promoted Fedor / Rogers fight as seen below. Nevertheless, it's great to see Fury come back and overcome adversity the way he has. Good luck, God bless, and Godspeed to him moving forward.

3. In all honesty, I know very little about the current landscape of professional boxing. The overall lack of marketing/promotion of boxing in the US, along with the Klitschko issue I stated above, the rumors of fights being fixed, coupled with miscreant promoters / fighters ruining the purity of the sport, etc., has led me to lose great interest in boxing.

My question is, I noticed with Lennox Lewis to the Klitschko brothers to now Fury vs Wilder, the heavyweight fighters have all been extremely tall, much unlike Mike Tyson. Was Mike Tyson just an anomaly that could do well against taller competitors or maybe one of the last of his kind when it comes to succeeding in the HW division in boxing regardless of height. Fury moving the way he does at 6'9" is truly remarkable and are fighters akin to his physical mold the foreseen future in boxing? If so, that's another reason for focusing on MMA for me; just look at the varying sizes of Fedor defeats in this highlight clip. Despite my thoughts on that, it's great to know the reality of the boxing title holders and I will have to keep my eye on many mentioned here. Thanks!

Douglas was dropped but wasn't knocked out, like the Fury 12th round count Douglas might have been on the deck longer than 10 but it's the referee's count that is the final say not a stop watch.

Vitali had one PPV against Danny Williams that bombed out at about 150K buys and then was written off as PPV force, the media wrote a tale of Klitschko domination of a paper thin division but after Wlad's reign was near historic length and he had a record of title fights the narrative changed to he was too dominant and boring.

Yes I can't see a true lineal champion ever being 5'11" to 6'1" again as these big men are too long and skilled for a short heavyweight getting inside and going to work. Keep it mind when Marciano, Frazier and even Tyson was in his prime a 220 pound heavyweight was a huge man. Now he would be viewed as undersized.

The Wilder rematch looks to be dead in the water as Fury announced a ESPN deal for a reported 100 million US, it's for 5 fights and he will be promoted by "Bub" Arum, so the chances of the Wilder rematch happening are slim and none for the foreseeable future. It looked the Wilder camp had too many clauses and wanted the lions share of the purse for the rematch, even though the world saw that he should have lost the fight. If there is to be a rematch it will be on more even terms because of this contract. https://fightnews.com/tyson-fury-inks-deal-with-espn/39871

Fury in tonight against some German guy. Youtubed the German. He's big and has a sneaky right hand that has worked against average opposition.

Thought I might get to catch the fight but that would require some app looks like to something called ESPN Plus. Kiss my ass.

My once avid interest in boxing is still alive, but at this rate....

Fury will toy with the German fighter. Saw the weigh-in. Fury has to have the biggest love handles ever. It is not a good look. Hopefully, after this, he can train them off.

The extra weight seems to have helped with Fury's power. He wants to drop Wilder.

I always felt Fury could have tried to knock Wilder's block off if he sat down on his punches, I'm guessing he was worried about being stationary in front of Wilder and getting in coming so he threw arm punches. Against the German no hoper he planted his feet and punched through the target.

PS, you know nobody knows who you are when every commentator from Uncle Teddy to the ESPN crew kept on calling Schwarz, Schwartz, It brought me back to high school with a few Jewish guys that had that last name.

Yes, Fury looked unbeatable against a no hoper. I do wish he dropped another 20 lbs, he would even be more fleet-footed. The big fights at Heavyweight will be Fury-Wilder II and Ruiz-Joshua II. I see both Fury and Ruiz as the winners. Their fight could be more than a year away if they kept winning.

Pulev is the IBF mandatory for fall. Yes, he is a lot tougher than Schulz, but still essentially another tomato can. I hope the fans stop buying this stuff.

I can see a similar scenario to when Fury lost his IBF belt because he was contracted to give Wlad an immediate rematch. Ruiz is contracted to give Joshua a rematch or will be sued by Hearn and the Gypsy Rose routine will be repeated 4 years later. This is the reason why it's impossible to hold all four major belts for long.

PS, Golovkin was stripped of the IBF belt prior to the PEDnelo rematch in a similar fashion. I'm guessing the IBF does this rules are rules BS because in the past they were raided by the FBI for bending their rules with under the table payments from Don King(who was never convicted) to get his fighters positioned to fight for vacant belts.

Could you imagine the field day various talk show hosts would have in the all couch potato/ dad bod brawl for it all with Fury vs Ruiz, the jokes would be endless......

Fury might as well say I'm BAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCK! Supposedly he and Warren hashing out a plan for a series of fights and are leaving open the possibility of a unification bout with the Usyk vs Joshua rematch winner. In other words Fury will only fight the winner for or a record purse guarantee.

As I stated before he would never leave that much money on the table plus a chance at boxing history...https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/18881324/tyson-fury-retirement-fight-anthony-joshua-oleksandr-usyk/

Fury had one of his traditional blowouts after his Wembley win — and was caught on video kicking out at a taxi in Cannes while staggering about drunk with his dad John and pals.

Last night he admitted acting like a “proper idiot abroad” but says he likes a drink and is not a “robot”.

He said: “I also have a few beers now and then, kick a couple of taxis like we have all seen! I have enjoyed myself, been abroad and acted like a proper idiot — like we all do.

“Every idiot Brit abroad, with a few beers in them, has done that. Who has never been on holiday, got p***ed up and acted a real mug? Everyone I know has done it. I am not some programmed robot who gets told what to say and do.

“I am as real as waking up in the morning and having breakfast and putting your shoes on. There is no script here.”
