Minnesota booked the first visits of in-conference transfer departees Cole Cabana (RB, Michigan) and Gabe Powers (LB, Ohio State).

The Golden Gophers were picked to finish right around *dead last* in the fancy new Big Ten conference. Instead, they belted out a 7-5 record (with 4 one-score losses and 2 one-score wins), good for 7th place out of 16.

There's a great vibe for Gophers coach PJ Fleck, who is one of the very few coaches who has stuck to his "bread and butter" and built a Big Ten roster in the mold of his successful MAC roster.

"The night is young," as they say, but I have a really positive vibe about this brand.

Those would be great gets for Minnesota and Fleck!

I noticed Wisconsin is linked to 6’7 Northwest Missouri State DE Langden Kitchen. He had 40 tackles and 5.5 sacks as a Sophomore at D2 level. Looks like just about everyone is after him now. Amazing how a 6’7 White DE can just fall through the cracks like that.. Kansas, Iowa, Iowa St., Missouri and Wisconsin all vying for his services.

Who’s going to pay this bum Malachi next ?

These 5 star quotas aren’t have the best success rates. 3rd school in 2 years.

Do you fellows who follow this closely notice any trends yet of White players transferring to more relatively White friendly programs or does it still seem mostly random? One would think Whites who are being screwed and who have at least some awareness of the racial dynamics of recruiting and the giving out of scholarships and how blacks are favored when it comes to playing opportunities would take a closer look at the demographics of various programs, esp. if they play any of the most black dominated positions, which anymore is all of them except TE and OL.

It seems it's more at random as far as I can tell. I have to think many are probably just following the money. For example Jackson Arnold just committed to Auburn which makes no sense. They have a 5 star quota coming in, brought in a quota from Stanford and he just committed as well. On top of that Hugh Freeze is a bad coach/caste clown. Money is certainly a consideration.

I think many are getting blinded by SEC $.

Also seeing others making wise decisions. Like Hank Brown from Auburn to Iowa.

All good spots imo. Oregon is another school with an unlimited budget guessing Thieneman landed 1mil if not more.

QB Hank Brown commits to Iowa
Yes Thanks! had him on the list above...On 3 site has been pretty good; Will try keep list up to date

Added EDGE/OLB Jack Pyburn
Some of his NIL demands be over the top at first glance ; but then you look at his production and maybe he is kind of on to something ?
Or maybe it's all #$# now?
Pyburn demanded a $45,000 monthly stipend, a guaranteed starting position as an outside linebacker, an assurance of playing on third downs and increased snaps in the rotation.

The Gators declined these requests by Pyburn which resulted in his entry into the transfer portal.

These demands, particularly the hefty financial request and the guaranteed playing time, are not typical in college athletics, where competition and performance are supposed to dictate playing time and roles.

This situation raises several crucial questions about the future of college sports. Are we entering an era where player demands become increasingly bold and universities are forced to weigh the potential benefits of acquiescing against the risks of unmanageable precedents?

“Despite Pyburn’s productivity, he finished the year with less snaps played (334) than fellow outside linebackers T.J. Searcy (362) and George Gumbs Jr. (403) but nearly doubled the number of tackles made by Searcy (34 tackles) and Gumbs (32). Pyburn’s play in 2024 has made him one of most coveted EDGE players in the portal, and his camp told Gators Online on Thursday that three SEC teams are making a strong push for him.”

Good question; Leonardfan pretty much nailed it.

Sometimes you have a bad azz D Tackle like Braden Fiske playing at Western Michigan of the Mid-Major MAC ; transfer to a Florida State where you could count on one hand the amount of White Defensive players the past 15 years....you never know.
