Parrot I believe the better question in this Amerika is WHY big White guys do not pursue the route of Heavyweight boxing? That is the question. Most CFers know the answer. A clue; the DWF mentality.

West, you know the answer to this. There are simply not enough gyms with good trainers around. And where there are gyms with competent trainers the guys just aren't coming in and trying to learn the craft. In the East they have extensive amateur programs and the culture of boxing/fight sport is favourable. More men there love the sport and are dedicated. In the USA the culture and programs are not there.

It takes a long time to make a champion or, at least a good pro. I'm a part time trainer (I can't make a living doing it). And it is next to impossible to find anyone who is willing to take 5 years to learn the ropes. Typically a guy will train for a few months to a year and then be satisfied that he has some skills. A lot of the men that make it to the top had a father or relative that could train them. Look at Cleverly, Garcia, Fury, Ward, and even Mayweather Jr. They have fathers or uncles that know what they are doing. I don't see things changing anytime soon. On the other hand, the USA has the very best skateboarders anywhere!

With all the big white guys in the USA I can't believe that they can't produce more heavyweight boxers such as Tommy Morrison!

Copied my post from the the Pulev thread:

Aside from the fact that white kids have been fattened up and dumbed down and bisexualized and put on ritalin and zombified here in the USSA, there are no boxing training programs for them. Boxing gyms and boxing programs are almost entirely in the non-white neighborhoods. There are none in high schools, and - correct me if I'm wrong - only one college, West Point, has a boxing program. On the other hand almost every elementary school and high school and college has football, basketball, and baseball, not to mention Gay Studies and Holocaust Studies and White Racism 101.

Good point.

I tried a skateboard once. I l stayed on it for a fraction of a second and then suddenly I was horizontal and six feet off the ground. It was very exciting and dramatic. I probably might have won a prize if I it got filmed and put on one of those Funny Fail shows.

There was a guy who was on the old original Golota Forum - the best boxing forum ever -who knew Morrison personally - went to school with him. I'll ask him if he wants to come on here.

no sorrow from me and i'm glad he finally died. a disgraceful White man during his life and his degeneration earned him no sympathy from my platoon. i'd rather he was any other race other than a disgrace.

congrats to tommy gunn for escaping the stigma of ******-AIDS from some of you. needle use is the alternative, and even then, most ******* don't really care for heroin because it renders your dick unconscious. most IV drug users who are transmitting AIDS are still shooting **** into their veins, but it is actually mostly still coke and they are mostly still *******. REAL TALK, IV-use for new diseases is from intra-venous cocaine... the rest is from secret *******.

Phall think about this logically if he was an ass muncher, wouldn't some fruit loops partner have come out of the shadows and tried to get his five minutes of fame back 15+ years ago when Morrison was a national celebrity? On this board the relatively obscure Kerry Rhodes has had one of these types "out" him. Morrison was a much higher profile than him. I recall a few closeted pillow biters in Hollywood have the National Enquirer out them over the years.

You can get it from the ladies too. Not as easy but not impossible. The guy was in a blood sport so there is always that too.

Regarding pro boxing, it is correct that there are virtually no boxing gyms in the country and none that you would take a White kid too. I know, I tried with my son.

BTW Gerry Cooney's dad personally trained the hell out of his kids to be boxers, another example of the need to have a father or close male relative in the game to be successful. Did Morrison train any of his boys to be boxers?? :undecided:

For all his athletic gifts, Tommy still resorted to PEDs at times in his career. One article raised the possibility that a dirty needle found Tommy during a group shoot-up. Less unmanly than other scenarios. Then again, maybe something else found Tommy during some group sex. Who knows. But when you're living the reckless life, with money, and can get everything you want, eventually more than you want will get you.

If it hadn't been AIDS it would have a car wreck, a bar shooting, or a piano falling on his head. Tommy's star crossed life had no help from the crossed wires in his brain.

At least he had that left hook though. Otherwise he'd have just been another trailer park tragedy.

You nailed it jax. The only boxing gym around here was owned by former welterweight champ Jamie Lerma (pronounced Hi-me Ler-i-ma). My brother took my nephew down there to see what was up, and it was like going into Mexico. Everybody in there was mexican, and they basically told him whites werent welcome. Not in those exact words, but they got the point across. Of course Himee is broke, and out of business now, so there are zero boxing gyms in Waco TX.

About 15 years ago ESPN the magazine launched and in their first issue they had a piece on Morrison and they had his idiotic father recounting procuring prostitutes for his junior high aged son and he talked about his 3 sons who were half brothers of Morrison where they would be championship level boxers like Morrison. Ps most boxing gyms are in the ghetto areas where very few Whites live anymore. Also in many cities that are experiencing gentrification ie Toronto or NYC in the late 80's+ many of these gyms have become too expensive for ghetto to lower middle class kids to learn boxing. In the past many trainers let kids train for free or pay what they could, now in cities like Toronto or NYC they want 100 a month, which to a poor kid might as well be 1K a month....

Boxing in the US seems to favor low lifes. It's the one sport that never came out of the shadows as far as respectability on a large scale. I think the advantage of the Eastern Euros is that the government used their boxing programs as a propaganda tool for Olympic success and that gave the idea to kids in those countries that boxing was a respectable thing, since it was run by the government.

Years ago I remember rec boxing at the YMCA, it was a pretty big thing and if the Catholic church was doing it, then it had to be respectable. But that didn't seem to catch on. The real boxing always seemed to be done in ghetto gyms. And in golden era America you had a lot better options for a successful life then getting pounded in a ring.

I think Morrison's popularity, aside from being White, was helped by the media wanting a White celebrity boxer that had all of the same dysfunctional qualities of the many black boxers, so they could say, see White people are low life's too. I'm surprised the MSM media has not latched onto the Morrison saga more aggressively as they really like to point it out when White celebs go bad.

I thought he went to school with him. Anyway, he met him. Here's what he wrote:

Me: "I can't get my head around the chest implant he had, and, at least according to him, that was what ultimately did him in. A guy who has a chest implant can't be normal."

"not normal at any level...

I'd met him by accident and had beers with him one evening in Tulsa. The girl I was dating knew someone in his entourage so we all sat down together. I guess it would have been 1994. He was very cordial, articulate...his Oklahoma drawl minimal. He could have easily done color commentary for HBO or Showtime and been as successful at it as George Forman was. At the time there was discussion of him fighting Larry Holmes...he was just trying to get another title shot which he eventually did against Lennox Lewis.

The guy I met that evening in Tulsa sounded nothing like the punchy, crazy homeless dude we saw in recent years. His speech slurred, incoherent ramblings, chest implants...WTF man? He just fell off the bat-****-crazy-cliff and never returned. Sad, sad, sad."

The son rises. Granted Tommy's son is greener than freshly minted twenty dollar bills, but he has some of his pops raw athleticism as he played college football. At the moment his skills resemble his uncles rather than his dads but in a few years who knows....http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/i...-lippe-following-father-footsteps-boxing-ring

Trey is now 10-0, all knockouts. Apparently punching power is inherited.

Would be great if the kid can pick up his old man's legacy.

His technique needs a little work, however he is working with Freddie Roach now so that will definitely improve. He has that natural punching power though which is the main thing for a heavyweight.

Morrison's son has natural punching power and reasonable hand speed. He needs rounds and experience with all types of fighters(especially larger tall types who seem to be the elite fighters in this era).

If he follows the blue print that Wilder took to his paper title he may be able to become a legitimate contender for a paper title or the lineal belt. I just hope that hype surrounding him never threatens to go supernova and his management team try and cash him out before he has realistic chance of winning a title or a major crossroads bout.

A much better video lol.
He only started boxing in 2014. It takes at least 5 years to reach your potential in boxing. So I hope they don't put him in any big title fights until 2019 because he has no amateur record.
