Seeing Tom Brady retire reminds me of when the Klitschko's retired. We are seeing the end of the greatest quarterback to ever play the game of pro football. To
think that he was barely drafted and was not taken as a legitimate talent just shows how many times the scouts are wrong. Heart, desire and leadership cannot
be measured with any athletic test. Brady has lived up the Legend Status. It will be very sad to not see him out there. Thanks to the greatest we have all ever
seen Tom Brady. I'm sure they will make movies about him someday.

Sounds like Brady's retirement may be #fakenews as it stands right now. My guess is little schefty wanted to try and pounce on breaking the news because he doesn't need to have credibility if it turns out to not be true - same can be said of all sports journalists, journalists in general, MSM talking heads etc.

Supposedly his website/twitter account leaked a retirement notification but that was hastily pulled, his father talked to a San Francisco area media outlet and denied the rumors too. Let the man speak after 21+years he at least deserves that...https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/football/nfl/teams/tb/tampa-bay-buccaneers

Agreed. Vultures looking for more free press and trying to break a story they have no interest in besides gaining notoriety for being the first to do so.

He should not retire, just to spite the media...

At his age Brady's skills have to be nearing the edge of the table. But maybe he has a year or two left? A super competitive guy like him would have a hard time walking away with another possible ring out there. Stay tuned.

I think Brady will honor his contract and play one more season. And why not? He was the best QB in football this year and will have another strong team that could win a championship next year.

Damn I’m going to miss Tom Brady!! I wish he would have came back for one more run as he led the league in 5 statistical categories at 44 years old. Greatest football player of all time.

As I posted 3 days ago, we've been privileged to witness the greatest of all time and I don't think anyone will ever come close to the records, titles and outright greatness of Brady. In a class by himself.

I have a strong feeling Tom Brady is coming back for one more year. He just played some of the best football of his career last year. Leading the NFL in multiple caterories. I can't
see him walking away when he still has the talent. The guy has not lost that much. It's crazy but he still plays like a 30 year old qb.

No if he was 35 instead of 45 I could see it but once you sit on the couch at that age working your way into shape physically and mentally is very hard to get back your edge.

I remember when Landry, Noll and Shula were forced out and seemed like they were around for a generation but they weren't taking blows to all parts of their bodies like Brady was. Brady might have been like Rocky Balboa at the start of Rocky 5 after a few brutal games this season and he decided to make it a wrap.

I have a feeling of happiness for him and sadness for the viewing public...

This is a very good documentary on Brady’s earlier years and exposes the many downfalls of recruiting. To much caste B.S. happened to a lot of those quarterbacks.

What I find interesting is that Tom Brady is considered the greatest QB of all-time by everybody - media, coaches, owners, analysts....everyone.
He is a classic drop back QB, who doesn't run, isn't fast or even mobile.
Yet these same people - the media, coaches, etc., are not looking for the next Tom Brady!
Instead they are always looking for, and hyping, the next Michael Vick.
Even though Tom Brady has shown over the course of 22 years, that a great classic QB can be more successful than anyone else; these folks are still looking for a 'super athletic' QB, who can beat you with his legs.
Makes no sense.

Makes no sense for those that understand the tactics of winning a football game: the ball moves faster than anyone can run, the faster the ball is released the less time the defending team has to try to stop or intercept the throw, and the faster the ball is released the sooner most of the defending team becomes out of position and redundant.

Makes perfect sense when the purpose of the NFL and the glorication of black athletes is understood, however.

The most exciting quarterback was not a Michael Vick type. Dan Marino holds that position. I say that often to rub it in the face of DWF's I know. Drop back passer with a super quick release. Each and every pass play was a thrill show.

Great point! They’ve changed the rules and neutered the defenses but the drop back passer still lead the league in most categories!

The only thing I can think of is lineman now aren't as good as they were a generation ago. We have nearly half the linemen being obese sumos who lack technique and bull strength so quarterbacks literally need to scramble more to get passes down field.

We also have less blocking tight ends and fullbacks in for pass protection. John Kuhn hung around well past his best before date because he could chip block among the best in the league, one thing about an empty backfield is there is nothing protecting the quarterback if the D linemen overwhelm the O linemen.

Yeah, good for him. Why retire when he had such a great year and was so close to going to another Super Bowl? Seemed like he was giving in to the MSM who love to usher great White athletes out the door.

Fantastic News. I agree as last season was one of the best seasons of his whole career. Amazing how his body has held up!
