The most important men other Toby for the next two weeks will be the Stanford Offensive linemen and tightend. I hope they open giant to medium holes for Toby.

Here's a news flash... Google "Monte Poole Toby Gerhart", and you'll see the the link for the article posted above regarding Toby Gerhart, but when you click the link it goes to a story about JaMarcus Russell with the Toby article nowhere to be found. Typical.

Sober, just checked it out and that is strange. I noticed the same thing happens when I click other links. It might just be an auto-update feature with each of the newspapers since he's a columnist, but if not, this is really fishy.

I vote for fishy. If you look at the Contra Costa newspaper site with the current JaMarcus article, you'll see a list of related articles from the past couple of days (why wouldn't the Gerhart article be listed there?). if you search the Contra Costa newspaper site specifically for all Monte Poole articles, the Gerhart article is not listed, despite getting Poole articles listed back into October and beyond. The article has been removed.

Toby @ #2 in ESPN Expert's Heisman Rankings

Dixie, not to razz you too hard since I don't often have an opportunity to do this, but I beat you to the punch on this one! Check on the last page of the thread. But yeah I understand it's exciting that all this news is coming out about Gerhart, so some of it will get buried under all the other news!

I thought I glanced the prior pages to see if that had been posted...must've missed it. Well, I'd rather get a "double-scoop" of good news than bad!

Ingram had 105 yards and two TDs. Toby needs around 150 yards and 3 TDs to stay in contention. The Cal v Stanford game should be starting in minutes, trying to find the station broadcasting.

Awesome 61 yard touchdown run by Toby to start the game! What an absolute animal. He also seems like and intelligent and nice guy as well as very humble in an interview. That's a breath of fresh air amongst elite tailbacks.

Toby just broke the school record for rushing TDs in a career with 38! Way to go, Toby!

Toby with his 3rd td! He has a good deal of fans in chat rooms, but quite a few haters. Some don't like the fact that a White running back is tearing it up.

I don't get some people, why do people hate players like Tebow and Gerhart? Are they jealous of their success? I just don't get the hatred. It isn't like they have a simple opinion "oh I don't think he will be good in the NFL" I would be fine with that, even though I don't agree with it. They go further and find any way possible to bash them like it is personal.Edited by: dwid

Dang! Harbaugh with the bonehead play call of the day, passing on first and second down after a 30 yard gainer by Toby. The second throw was picked off, ending the game.

Why in the WORLD would you not run Toby again? They couldn't stop him! Sickening to know what could have been.

:( Toby pretty much carried Stanford on his back this game. 4 tds, got them in the redzone on a dump off pass with less than 2 minutes left and Luck threw an interception, but its understandable, he is a young qb. It would have been nice to see Stanford win this.

This won't drop Stanford too far in the rankings will it? I hope they are ranked going into the Notre Dame game.

Edit: Colonel_Reb, yeah I agree, they should have let Toby run it, they had over a minute on the clock and were in the redzone. I dont agree with going for it on 4th and 8 earlier in the game when they had 3 timeouts and 3 mins left either.Edited by: dwid

Good lord, Luck was pretty bad through the game, complete 10-30 passes for 159 yards, with the game ending INT. Why didn't Toby get a carry there? Stanford easily had enough time left and Harbaugh let's Luck throw it.

If this game doesn't make Toby Heisman frontrunner, nothing will.Edited by: Jack Lambert

Oh man, I was begging for a handoff to Gerhardt that final play. 1 min and 40 left. They could have run three plays in a row with Gerhardt. No way Cal. was gonna stop him - they were done. I'm gonna have to go emoticon on this
