I have do disagree with this one. He is an awful politician. So is Trump.
McCain was given the offer to go home and be released from POW status ( mostly due to his father's ex rank ) and he did not go. He did over 7 years in a prison where torture was common. He may not be a war hero but I do have a lot of respect for him at least for that epsode of his life.

Are you sure about that? Seems like an awfully nice offer by his captors.

That is what I saw on some HBO special back in the day. The real cool thing was that the aircraft carrier he was serving on had some weapons malfunction and a rocket fired and hit his plane while he was just about to take off. He jumps out just as the plane explodes and runs for his life. It was caught on some black and white film by somebody. The documentary said he did 7 years and was offered to be released because his father was an admiral in the Navy ( I think in World War 2 ) and he declined saying that other US aviators were doing more time than him already and they should go first. Does this help?

McCain was a fool of a man to enlist and go to Vietnam. Smart and intelligent men didn't serve the U.S. army for the Vietnam conquest. Some of the smart ones were called "draft dodgers" and got the hell out of Dodge while they still could. Even at that time many a man knew the war was not for some false ideal called "democracy" or to protect Americans. Today, of course, only the veriest fool enlists to fight for Jewish/Cabalist/Masonic/American imperialism -only the best of morons need apply. He's no hero for invading his fellow man's lands and killing his fellow man. Anyone who thinks any American soldier who takes part in these marauding adventures needs to gives his head a shake.

So, starting as a fool, he became a crook, a pathological falsifier, and a swindler for his bosses; and, he cooked up death potions everywhere he could. The death of other men with whom he shares this world, and the destruction their lands and property, means nothing to him. McCain always was sick, but now his sick brain is rotting to the point where he may not be able to harm any more men. That is a good thing.

It helps only to the extent that HBO is considered a reliable source, and I don't consider it to be one. I recall reading a story (believe it was on counterpunch.org, a populist-lefty site), that McCain actually caused the fire to the Navy ship he was on. His entire life has been a great example of the Peter Principle, thanks to his family and business/crime connections. It may be a bit harsh to compare him to Tokyo Rose, but the fact is he repeatedly broadcast North Vietnamese propaganda to American troops to save his butt while his fellow POWs were being tortured. I don't wish him ill health but the day that John McCain is out of the Senate is a day to celebrate.

I'm not going to judge somebody that was subjected to torture. If it was me, i'd probably read whatever they put in front of me to make it stop. It's impossible to say unless you're in that situation. Yes, I've heard that he got special treatment because his father was a bigshot and that he wrecked several planes and barely graduated, and may have done some questionable things during his captivity, but he still went and he still suffered. Doesn't excuse his behavior as a deep state senator or his treason against America with his amnesty pushes, but he still suffered greatly serving his country, and I respect him for that. Yes, I agree, we will all be better off as Americans with Mccain out of the Senate.

McCain was not "a fool of a man to enlist and go to Vietnam." He was a Naval Academy graduate and a career officer, not the same as a draftee.

McCain was given the option to be released by the North Vietnamese. A few POWs took early release, but not McCain. On the other hand, McCain knew early release would mean the end of his naval career and would make him a pariah in the circles he wanted to move in.

No, McCain was NOT a hero as a prisoner.

That being said, I hate McCain's guts for his political stance. He moved to the left after being implicated in the Keating 5 Affair.

If he was tortured, he suffered himself the torture. You may not judge him, but I will, and his fellow man, the Vietnamese, did. It is known to all men that to invade another man's land, kill, plunder, and destroy property is wrong.

His rank with the U.S. International terrorist organization is a status; his decision to participate in international terror and murder made him the fool. A man cannot invade his fellow man's lands to kill his fellow man and not expect reciprocity. He's very lucky the Vietnamese didn't kill him, and they would have, but didn't in hopes of getting some of their own back.

The world was different circa 1965. The North Vietnamese (to say nothing of the Communist bloc) were not the saints from heaven you think they were.

The character of the Vietnamese at that time, or another time, or at this time, does not create any authority for the U.S. armed forces to invade foreign lands and attack the people's of those lands unless the U.S. armed forces were attacked first or war was made towards the people's of the U.S. No man may lawfully enter another man's property without his consent. This is the old doctrine of "domestic authority'. That lardass Hilary once said the armed forces couldn't just go into some country without their domestic authority -consequently they do anyway. McCain's entire career in politics has been that of a scheming despot who overtly concocts reasons to destroy other's peace for the benefit of his masters.

Trump to stop CIA from arming "rebels" in Syria

McCain goes off on Trump for doing so, confirming his unbreakable commitment to Lucifer until he passes on into eternal Hell.
The warmongers at Fox News try to carry water for McCain from this clip of them interviewing (Neocon) General Jack Keane (Ret). This is Fox News' actual YouTube account. Good to see them (and McCain) get excoriated in the comments and voted down almost into oblivion.

The corporate media still pretends he was a war hero because he's always been a faithful servant of the Permanent Regime, but do a search as there's plenty of information available about it.

The little rat was a communist collaborator from day one.

My understanding is that he wasn't tortured at all. He agreed to comply without being tortured, the only one out of his group, and that's how he earned the nickname "Songbird."

I distinctly remember, back in 2008, that POS McCain was giving a speech in Iowa, and audience members were crying out "stop illegal immigration" "THEY'RE STEALING FROM US!" and Mccain could've cared less. Not soon after his *** butt buddy Linda Graham was calling people opposed to illegal immigration "bigots".

White people literally crying out for help from their elected officials and being told F U, we support the invaders that are stealing your lives, your work, your identities, and your childrens' futures. If that isn't treason, I don't know what is. The Constitution requires the feds to repel invasion, yet they are complicit in aiding and abetting the invaders. And by this point, so many have been let in that they can outvote the real Americans that objected to the invasion.

Steve Bannon, the only semi-nationalist in the White House, no longer has any influence and it's only a matter of time until he quits or is fired. Trump's cabinet and inner circle will then consist solely of banksters, neo-con madmen, corporate globalists and cucks. Drain that swamp lol!

My understanding of the Vietnam War is that the North Vietnamese communists were trying to invade South Vietnam with the help of
communists in South Vietnam.

The American forces were there at the invitation of the South Vietnamese government. The idea that America invaded the peaceful republic of Vietnam for no reason other than to kill non-white people is leftist propaganda.

Whether it was a good idea for the US to get involved in Vietnam is another question but the US didn't arbitrarily invade a peaceful communist wonderland.

I would take it with a grain of salt, as the ultimate source is "Politico" which is mostly FAKE NEWS. I'll believe it once Bannon either resigns or is fired by Trump. Although Trump unfortunately has a number of neocons, etc. surrounding him, he has been rejecting or "vetoing" a lot of their recommendations. His decision to stop arming Syrian "rebels" is just one recent example; of course, met with condemnation and derision by the entire neocon establishment press. Another example was when Gary Cohn told the media that Trump was "coming around on 'Climate Change'" only for Trump to outright reject it in a strongly-worded speech a couple of days later on the White House lawn, countering Cohn.

Here's another recent story where the Trump admin has abolished 0bama's practice of "deferred deportations":

In the first five months of the Trump presidency, there have been less than 100 illegal aliens per month being given prosecutorial discretion disclosures, according to the study. This is a sharp decline from the same first five months of 2016, under Obama, when 2,400 illegal aliens per month were given discretion.

So, it's not all bad news out there regarding Trump. Considering the alternatives, I'm very relieved he's the President right now.

I have read also that McCain caused the fire on that ship and it resulted in the deaths of over 100 of his shipmates. The truth of what happened was covered up because of his father's influence. He was shot down in part because after this incident his fellow pilots despised him and on the fateful mission those pilots left him exposed and unprotected.

Yes, it's great Hillary isn't president, but Americans didn't vote for the lesser of two evils, they thought they were getting a president who would kick ass and "drain the swamp." Instead his administration is filled with swamp creatures. And the sole alt-light figure among his advisors is totally isolated. It's Ronald Reagan all over again. Poor Ronnie supposedly wanted to launch a "revolution" but his advisors and cabinet wouldn't let him. ********! This country is way too far along in its death spiral for a few crumbs thrown at nationalists here and there to change the momentum. We're still losing the demographic war badly under Trump, that's the bottom line. Trump bought us four years, but Trump himself is going to be of almost no help the way things stand now.
