This is another example of the naivete that white athletes seem to have. Some of them insist on signing with teams that won't use them. Others don't realize that they can't misbehave and get away with it. I believe Roethlisberger admited to consensual sex with the accuser, not realizing that a big-name white pro football player with deep pockets is a big fat target. If a well-known white pro football player is going to consort with women he doesn't know, he had better put aside money for the attorney's fees. He's going to need it.

well looks like some arent as delusional as we think, at least when it comes to money some dwf's will wake up a little bit. Crabtree is threatening to sit out THE ENTIRE 2009 season and enter next years draft if he doesnt get paid what he wants. Because the team that drafted him said he was the best wide receiver in the draft, he wants to be paid higher than the guy the Raiders drafted at number 7, even thoug he himself was picked at number 10.

From what I have read on message boards fans are pissed and think the money situation has gone to far and the athletes are getting ridiculous. (I suspect this has something to do with the economy being bad). Hopefully some will wake up entirely and realize the NFL is a joke and the best players are not on the field, and out of shape guys are getting paid millions to be mediocre.

Crabtree is stupid, next years draft quite a few talented wide receivers coming out, several of them White. I would love for him to do this and hopefully hear Decker and Shipley's name ahead of his. So I hope he doesn't budge on his threat and the organization calls his bluff. He will drop in next year's draft and get even less money.

Of course the dwf's only solution is a rookie salary cap, which is needed, but teams should start drafting people who actually care more about playing football than a huge pay day. I mean heyward bey got like what a 38 million dollar contract? Crabtree is not satisfied with getting a little less than that, he has to get more? Most NFL players are extremely overpaid. I think it is getting ridiculous. You have these king sized children like Crabtree ranting and raving. Can Crabtree give a guarentee to his team and the NFL that he will not be involved in any criminal activity like most of the players in the league? He can't so he needs to keep his mouth shut. I agree with you completely about Decker. He has virtually the same measurables and size combination as Crabtree and has a very similar playing style. Both these guys are physical WRs with solid (not spectacular) speed for their size. Their best feats are that they run spectacular routes and simply will not be denied the ball. Both are fearless and adjust to the ball very well while in the air and can juke guys nicely before and after the catch. They both probably compare to Larry Fitzgerald (Fitz ran a very respectable 4.5 flat at his Pro Day, but ran a 4.62 at the combine) as well, in the two aforementioned ways.

The thing is, Decker doesn't have an enormous ego and therefore is more a team player than Crabtree. If things were fair, Decker would be off the board by the mid point of the 1st round, even if "ALL" the top underclassmen declare.

There was a big write up on him in the local newspaper. He was quoted as saying "I guess I had to be cut a few times to learn about humbleness" and talk about how he just got fat and refused to become a fullback. A White rb doesn't even get that first chance unless injuries occur. Imagine Jacob Hester saying he didn't want to play fullback. Mike Bell might actually be in the mix for the number 2 spot, behind Bush. Thomas is injured and it was speculated he would compete with Thomas anyway. Must be nice to do whatever you want and still get a chance to play. Matt Jones is still waiting for a call.

And what should be good news is, White LB Scott Shanle won the Saints Defensive MVP for last year, which is voted by the coaches and players, yet most fans on message boards still think he sucks and Vilma is the best player no matter what and that we should pick up Derrick Brooks to replace him. Shanle has been bashed constantly for the past few years. Now that a small minority are on his side and realize that he is good, they are trying to call for Scott Fujita's head, saying he needs to get upgraded, which really means "blacken the position"

Charles Grant 2006 season, didnt get a ton of sacks but is a LDE and was good at "playing the run" and he got some pressure. Before 2007 season he demanded a raise because he has to "feed his kids" is what he said. So they signed him to a 7 year contract with 20 million guaranteed. His performance wasn't even that great, but it dropped off severely, but his weight ballooned.

The crowds at the preseason games have been noticeably smaller this year. Since they're usually includedasa mandatorycost of buying season tickets, it shows that the DWFs aren't so starved for the NFL that they'll even pack stadiums for meaningless exhibition games (not to mention savingthe money for parking, hot dogs, beer, etc.).

Of course if there is a drop in regular season attendance the media will attribute it to the "recession" and not the product itself. The power structure considers the NFL as vital to the status quo as it does the U.S.'s farce of a two-party system.

From what I understand there are about 13 NFL teams who are in danger this year of not having sellouts every game. I have even heard some crying on Sports Talk Radio that the NFL needs to change it's blackout rule for these tough economic times. This is a good trend and I hope it continues and gets worse. In reality I believe it absolutely will because despite the media and Fed insistence, the economy is not getting better. They have even had to resort to spin to call the period we are in as a jobless recovery and base their hopes on more speculative bubbles. There are certainly no large quantities of jobs being created that do not revolve around government pork barreling and manufacturing and higher wage jobs continue to be outsourced or insourced to foreign visa laborers. jobless recovery is more Marxist speak for normalization of the economic hardship we are experiencing. This in my opinion, is the one thing that will have the most positive effect at bringing down the caste system combined with the increasing bad behavior of the predominantly black players in the league.
