After the Packers game on Fox the post game discussion group got into a conversation about Tim Tebow, and Terry Bradshaw said that although Tebow is a good player he isn't nearly as refined as other Heisman candidates -- that he's raw, rough, basically a tough bruiser.

Typical.

It seems Tebow is getting the exact reverse treatment of Vince Young. Same type of athlete yet Tebow has the mind, work ethic and stronger arm...everything needed to be a great qb at the pro level and they are slapping these spread system labels on him.

Vince Young's failures have alot to do with Tebow'S treatment (same with Alex Smith) due to the spread offense. I really do think Tebow has Steve Young like potential though and should not go pro except if he is a QB. He is not a TE or FB at all. His arm is huge and he just improves every year. He has 30 lbs on Alex Smith and twice the arm of Vince Young

I think Tebow will continue to be looked at with a defiant sneer even if he does make it to the NFL. Not so much his playing ability, but the fact that he was homeschooled (which I'm sure the powers-that-be in the NFL would look at as being blasphemous) could be looked at negatively regarding himself.

No surprise that Bradshaw would say that; I'm surprised he didn't use my favorite: "lunch pail player".

Several years back, at the height of theglorification of black QBs by the media (when Culpepper, McNabb, McNair and Vick were having varying levels of success), Bradshaw waswaxing poeticabout their "God-given gifts." I can't remember the rest of his embarrassing Caste spiel but I'll always remember that nonsense.

Anyway, for Bradshaw to say that about Tebow is doubly pathetic because Bradshaw came into the NFL very raw and kind of a bruiser himself butit didn't stop himfrom beingthe first overall pickof the draft in 1970 and subsequently a Hall of Famer.Edited by: Don Wassall

Yep, Bradshaw has a jones for tar, chocolate, ebony, you get the idea. Always did as long as I've been watching him on Fox. Not sure how he was during his days alongside Greg Gumbel on CBS' "NFL Today".

If Tebow was black, the media would be all over him like they were with Vince Young, it is completely ridiculous.

Terry Bradshaw was criticized as being all physical talent, and lacking in mental qualities in his first several years, but later in his career was considered the quarterback you didn't want to go up against in a big game.

Typically, this was when the black jock-sniffing Steeler towel-wavers started liking him as a whole.

How does Howie Long stand to be another caste clown when his son Chris had to overcome the ridiculous "overacheiver" labels which Chris was indeed annoyed by?

The media was beginning to drool over Vernon Gholston as superman b/c he ran the 40 .08 seconds faster than Chris. Gholston's perpetual habit to get frustrated and give up on plays didn't seem to matter.

At least Howie isn't as bad as Mike Ditka and Terry Bradshaw.

Oh gosh I can't tolerate Ditka. He's the aged version of Bill Cowher. Notice how ESPN has brought Cris Carter along to their "dream" (hehehe) lineup. He was brought on board to HBO's "Inside The NFL" after it had jumped the shark (think Wanda Sykes). He tries to look so studious and conscientous on "NFL Countdown" but he too is annoying.

And if Tebow was black he would be considerd the best man since Jesus Christ. Poor white guys that dare to be fast. Here is a list of QBs who got nothing but praise at college. The media raved about Quincy Carter, Byron Leftwich, Dante Culpepper, Mike Vick, Marcus Vick, Vince Young. All of them sucked pretty bad in my book.

Not to get off-topic, but I recently saw some pics of Tim Tebow's girlfriend, Lucy Pinder....

Oh -- I forgot to mention: After Terry finished his backhanded "praise" of Tim Tebow, he and the other circus peanuts waxed poetic for about three minutes on how OU quarterback Sam Bradford is a "coach's dream," and that giving Tebow another trophy would be a "political move" that would rob Bradford.

I have no doubt Bradford is a good QB, but why praise him at Tebow's expense?

You don't need to bash Satan in order to praise God.

Not that Tebow is Satan, but anyway -- yeah, all white males are villains somehow. There's got to be something wrong with a world where the Jonas "brothers" and that weird gay Fallout Boy bassist Pete Wentz are most popular white guys.

*edited to add* ^^^ by the way, as for the Pinder pics... Thank you
