Same holds true for those in the service academies…the post grad military obligation is more or less a death blow to a pro athlete

For the White ones anyways. Over the past few years there have been a few black service academy players getting all sorts of hype - two quotas both receiving Heisman notoriety and an Army DE getting first round hype prior to the 2022 season (he went undrafted) - Andre Carter. AF DB Weston Steelhammer and RB Brad Roberts are two of recent examples of being a good White player at a service academy getting completely ignored by the NFL.

When I was younger I also wanted to sprint faster and jump higher. Through learning alot about plyometrics which is great in football or
for any sport athlete I learned that so much of your explosiveness comes from having strong abs. Think 6 pack abs. It's not just your legs
and glutes as many think. If your don't have a strong core your never gonna run super fast or jump very high. On top of that you also can
get hurt alot easier. Taysom Hill will recover as he has never had any problems with anything athletically. Can't wait to see him play again.

WL, I agree on the abs being the most important for sprinting etc but you also need strong glutes so lots of squats, lunges, burpees with a rocket jump, are essential to any training regimen for athletics.....

Why not just make him the starting QB for once? Derek Carr is nothing special and Hill can do everything. And I don't have any faith in Dennis Allen despite the happy talk about Hill's role "expanding."

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said the Saints are “leaning into the Taysom Hill experience” this season.
While the Saints continue to expand Hill’s package, Fowler said, “It could look slightly different than in previous years.” The offensive weapon could reportedly play “up to five positions” this season, as coaches “believe he has more to give” heading into his eighth season as a pro. Fantasy managers who can deploy Hill as a tight end on their roster could have a nice edge at the position if things play out well for him this season. Last year, Hill totaled 692 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns while catching 33 passes. He had career-highs in both receptions and receiving yards (291) and finished as the TE15 in fantasy points per game in PPR leagues. He’s a low-risk, high-reward player who remains an interesting stash in fantasy leagues.

Derek Carr is solid. If anything the fans will be clamoring for their orange is the new black quota to be handed the job. Hill will never get a legitimate shot at QB at this juncture in his career. Just as athletic as Lamar Jackson but the wrong color.

Derek Carr is Dennis Allen's guy. OC Klint Kubiak is on board, too. If Carr were to get hurt, maybe Taysom can get the call.

The offensive line and play calling were atrocious last year. Carr should have been hospitalized for two years. He withstood multiple injuries. He did perform as you would expect considering all of that. He did not quit or sulk, however. The last portion of the season Carr threw the ball stunningly well. I like that quality. Also, there is no doubt in my mind Taysom can play QB in this league and unfortunately the system cheated him.

Don, I agree. Carr is a fine quarterback but not elite. I have zero doubt in my mind that Taysom Hill could be every bit as good and better than Lamar Jackson.

It is infuriating how coaches will cater systems to black dual-threat quarterbacks but will shun whites (Tebow and Hill, for example) with the exception of Josh Allen in Buffalo.

Hill would instantly add excitement and also wins to a Saints team searching for answers. Saints are about four years late doing this.
