I suspect there is some truth to Dirrell's claim. If you look back at the "illegal blow" it was quite devastating. I said then on this forum and now, he will never be the same. I suspect he will continue with another fight against a club fighter, and struggle. His management, himself and family will obviously see a deterioration of his skills as boxer, let alone basic motor skills.

No. He was faking it after the Abraham fight, and he's faking it now.

The reason for this is, Ward has been insisting Dirrell fight him in Oakland, but Dirrell knows that Ward's home referee and judges will likely be the difference since they are otherwise evenly matched. Dirrell's career would be damaged by another loss on his record right now.

Remember this prediction: early in 2011 Dirrell's promoter will announce Dirrell has been cleared to fight again.

Afflete Sakio Bika will be fighting Ward in Oakland on the 27th of November. The fight will not be part of the tournament however, and Ward will receive an additional 2 points because of Dirrell's withdrawal.

Favourtism? No, never.

I haven't seen Bika fight, but I have heard that he's supposed to be another filthy fighter who headbutts a lot? Hopefully Ward gets some of his own medicine in this fight.
