I just had the opportunity to watch the game closely last night, as during the actual game I had other emergencies come up.
Interestingly, I don't remember seeing an offensive holding call the entire game on either team. The Chiefs all-white offensive line is one of the best in the league at avoiding penalties, so that didn't really surprise me all that much.
Shadowlight is dead on with his defensive observations. The only player on the 49ers defense that was making a consistent impact was Nick Bosa. I don't care what color you are, blocking him is a near impossibility. The other 3 "all world" D-lineman only made plays after Bosa had already blown things up. Daniel Sorensen was all over the field for the Chiefs. Sorensen and Tyrann Mathieu make a deadly combo at safety. Ben Niemann was out on the field a LOT, especially in the 4th quarter as he is the primary coverage LB for the Chiefs. I watched his hit on Garoppolo in slo-mo and it was a perfect form tackle, facemask planted firmly at shoulder-pad level. Jimmy G was wincing not because he was hit "helmet to helmet" like many were whining about, but because his head slammed into the ground after being leveled.
But yeah, seeing the two palefaces on the field was hard to miss because they were blowing things up. I don't think Jimmy G even threw a ball toward whoever was being covered by Niemann. Well, back to my bowl of Mahomes Magic Crunch cereal........
