Krapernick must have a lot of White in him. He has been playing really good. And I don't mean Scam good or Gremlin good. I mean like actual QB good. He can throw it and puts it on target. It really pisses me off. His running has been good too. I'm hoping he's just on a good streak but this guy might really be good. I think he may be susceptible to injury because of his running but then last game he slid before being tackled so he might be getting a clue. I'm having nightmarish flashbacks to the Donovan McNabb/Donte Culpepper era. What if he doesn't do a McNabbish choke in the big game? The black quarterback hype goes into full gear if an afalete wins the big bowl.
his streak ended with the Atlanta Falcons game, Alex Smith could have defintely won that one as well.
Just watched the "all 22 coaches film" version of the game where you can see the entire field
can't anticipate receivers getting open. Missed a wide open crabtree going down the seem to try and get the ball to randy moss who was covered, incompletion, two receivers open and he hesitates to try and fit the ball in there and takes a sack, pressure was coming but he had time to make the throw, more worried about the pressure coming than getting the play off. Play, plenty of the time in the pocket, perfectl clean, one receiver WIDE open on the left side about 14 yards with the db 5 yards off of him, he looked that way and the dude was wide open the entire time, chooses the check down to the runningback. zone read play, the runningback would have had a wide open running lane, he pulls it and runs for a short gain, 3 yards when the rb could have gotten at least 10. Chooses the tight end on a shallow crossing route when there was guy open deeper who would have gotten more yac. Throws in the endzone to a guy who was covered pretty well, but there was a te (I think Vernon Davis) running a seam route who was wide open for an easy td, looks like he was locked onto that guy from the snap, so thats where he threw. The wide out had to adjust and jump but the db made a play on it, no td. Makes the right read on the option play and the rb scores the td. Crabtree wide open on a go route by 2 or 3 yards, tough throw but a qb should be able to make it, he chooses Davis who is running the underneath route with no defender in site. Wide open Delanie Walker who had one person to make miss and he throws to a guy triple covered who has to use his physical skillset to make the catch and get a few yards after the catch. Read option play, hands it off to the back who gets stuffed when he would have wide open space to run through. Clean pocket, open receiver to his left, for some reason he pump fakes to guy twice, then chooses to run for a 10 yard gain while all he had to do was step up in the pocket and hit another open receiver on the right for 20 yards. Vernon Davis open, he hesitates, hesitates until he is wide open and throws it for a big gain. Play action fake, wide open Vernon Davis underneath to run in for the td. Another read option play, hands off to the back when he had a wide open lane to run for himself, Guy open down the field and chooses the shorter route with the guy who is wide open. Finally makes the right read on the option play and the back gets a good chunk. Guy on the right open, beating the corner with the safety to far up to stop him from going in from the td, chooses to go underneath to number 46. Again, wr on the right open who could make the td if thrown to, chooses the guy underneath over the middle.Makes the right read on the option and the rb scores. Guy on the right running a go route, open, possibly could have gotten enough yac to go all the way, chooses to go to the guy who was more open to the left but more defenders in front of him. Designed qb run to the outside, gets tackled for a 2 yard loss, doesn't go against rushing stats. I think it goes against team rushing stats and doesn't affect the qb. 3rd and 5 in the redzone, guy open well past the sticks, he chooses a guy that is underneath but more defenders around, almost picked off. Kicker misses field goal, down 24-21. Falcons drive it down the field, bad snap from the center, 49er's recover. Two guys open on the outside, chooses the guy in the middle who is not that open, ball goes into the dirt.. next play almost identical, except the guy underneath is even closer to the los, bad throw, incompletion. good throw into tight coverage but fails to realize that Vernon Davis is not far behind Crabtree but further to the right, would have gotten a lot of yac. I mean a guy not covered, especially like Davis? you take that every time. Redzone, receiver open close to the corner of the left side of the endzone, he throws it underneath, the guy is open but a few defenders in front of him and he is short of the endzone, he fights for yards but stopped short of the goal line and its now Atlanta's ball at the 1. Lots of power running, grinding out yards, plays that look like the option but they don't leave a man unblocked, say for instance they might have the de unblocked for a split second and then have the fullback get him, straight up old school type running. Throws a pass that is a screen pass to get 1 yard, in the redzone, runs the zone read, makes the right read and runningback goes in for the touchdown.
I didn't see anything impressive. The Falcons did a good job of slowing down the pistol spread option, they took Kaepernick out of it, made the runningbacks work for every yard, regardless of it was the option or not. They didn't get any pressure on the qb for most plays, The Ravens get more pressure.
Overall I'd say Colin can't make reads, often locks onto the primary receiver or looks to the guy in the middle, he is supposed to have a cannon for an arm but hesitates or just doesn't throw to open receivers that are on the outside if they are close to 10 yards or more down the field, making throws in the middle is easier, its a straight throw. I think the Falcons had a good game plan.
It was just that the 49er's had a good running game, good defense as well, I noticed Ryan had less time to throw, receivers didn't have much separation and still made completions. The only big mistake he did was throwing to the receiver in the middle surrounded by defenders, there was a guy on the right who was a little past the sticks and had separation for the defender. If he makes that throw they get the first down and only have a few yards to get the td.

I'll look at the other games but this was the last one, they are running out of wrinkles to add to the offense and defenses are figuring it out. He looked like a game manager. The Ravens had two weeks. Plus they have Joe Flacco. I am worried about Torrey Smith, he is hot and cold, one week he will be great, another week he will not show up at all.
The only quotback I think will stand is Russel Wilson, he runs the least out of all of them and succeeds. He might be a glorified game manager but he will probably be starting longer than these other guys. The other ones are getting wide open receivers due to the read option combined with a potent runnin game in general, the dbs often peak into the backfield and hesistate for a second as what to do, there are lots zone read play action fakes.
