Black linemen dieing at 40 or younger is an unspoken epidemic in the NFL. It might be because it seems that Blacks at 300+ are much fatter at the weight and many refuse to/can't shed the weight after their careers are over. :rip:

Looks like a guard, rather than a tackle.

Remember when he assaulted a referee when he was with Cleveland after the ref inadvertently tossed a penalty marker that hit him in the eye?

I'm confident that I was watching an NFL game with my father via the television, and they cut into it (in "game-break" fashion) and showed the incident. I don't remember everything, but I saw it. I remember my father taking Brown's side in this ugly incident.. because the idea that a ref could blind someone, inadvertent as it may be, is foreign to many people. After the incident, many people had shocked reactions -- "WHAT? The refs are using flags that can hurt the players? The NFL needs to change this ASAP."

Many of these people would say that Brown was probably thinking of his livelihood being in jeopardy when he assaulted the referee. And that this incident took Brown by surprise, just like it did everybody else.

"I do not blame Brown for hitting the ref. It is not out of the realm of possiblity that ultimately the flag in the eye killed him. It would not be the first time that a preexisting injury caused the death of someone. Lets not forget that the mans career was basically over after that incident."

DWF comment from the thread linked by Don above. There are many cluesless people sharing the plane with the rest of us.

The Carolina Panthers have placed starting right tackle Otah on injured reserve for the third time in four seasons.
(Updated 10/19/11) STATS LLC
Advice Otah has been struggling with back and knee issues stemming from two prior knee surgeries. The Panthers decided to shut him down for the season to give him time to rest and fully recover, sensing he wasn't getting any better. He missed last week's game against Atlanta because of back problems. Panthers general manager Marty Hurney said Otah will not need surgery.

He's done, his knees' are shot... his career will be over.

I don't think that anyone whose obesity and lack of cardiovascular fitness (and probably even anaerobic fitness, too) should make his living as a professional "athlete".

These "athletes" — whether they're Black or White, though I'm assuming most of these incompetents are Black — are a disgrace to organized sports and a poor role model for everyone, especially kids.

It's such a shame that young guns coming out of college, young guys who actually bother to stay in shape and dedicate themselves to their craft, are locked out of playing on the offensive line because some fat little midget homosexual White coach thinks only obese Black sloths can "protect" the QB, even though they couldn't cover him even if he had a cheeseburger strapped to his chest.

Linemen can get injured, certainly, but these two should not have been 1st rounders.

Nov. 17, 2011 4:11 p.m. - by John Boyle - RT Carpenter out for season
RT James Carpenter, who went down with a knee injury in practice Wednesday, has a torn ACL and is out for the season, the team announced. Carpenter, Seattle's first-round pick, had started all nine games this season. Seahawks RapidReports

Williams is done for the season with a wrist injury suffered versus Detroit.
(Updated 11/14/11) STATS LLC
Advice A bust at tackle, Williams has played well at guard and will be missed on Chicago's improved offensive line.

Dan Williams -- who has suddenly grown to 6-3 -- is out for the season.. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/1125522/dan-williams

DL Williams done for the season: Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt confirmed Monday that NT Dan Williams has a broken arm and is out for the season. Whisenhunt has not decided whether rookie David Carter or veteran Nick Eason will replace him in the starting lineup, but both will see significant reps.
(Updated 11/21/2011)

Fantasy Analysis

Williams managed just 20 tackles through 10 games and was far more important to his real team's cause. He had no Fantasy appeal before the injury, so continue to ignore him.

Another Bust

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/1621669/torell-troup

Troup placed on IR: Bills NT Torell Troup (lower back) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. DL Lionel Dotson was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster to take Troup's spot.
(Updated 11/30/2011)

Fantasy Analysis

Troup, Buffalo's second-round pick in 2010, was bothered by the lower back injury all season and has been a disappointment thus far due to injuries. He had no Fantasy appeal to begin with, so continue to ignore him.

Seattle loses another sumo as Russel Okung goes down. However the Seahawks will likely stay at 4 whites on starting O-line as Mcquistan will move over from guard to tackle to replace him and the new guard will likely be black. It would be ironic if the Blackhawks actually had an all white starting O-line.

It was nice to see both Seattle and Philly with 4 Whites starting on the o-line last night. In Seattle's case it was only because of injuries, but it's no coincidence that Marshawn Lynch now has holes to run through and has gone from being considered one of the league's worst starting running backs to its most productive over the past 5 weeks. On the Eagles, both Michael Vick and Vince Young have time to throw the ball, and Brent Celek has been relieved from being primarily a blocker to being a key cog in the passing offense again.

I suffered through a portion of this game, and, apparently according to the announcers, the sole reason for this is because of sumo Jason Peters. From listening to them, he was blocking the entire Seahawks front four and picking up the blitz at the same time.

Dec. 02, 2011 4:09 p.m. - by John Boyle - Carroll wants investigation of play that hurt Okung
Pete Carroll said he fully expects the NFL to look into the play that injured LT Russell Okung. Okung hurt his pectoral muscle late in Thursday night's game when Eagles DE Trent Cole threw Okung to the ground after the whistle. “It’s worth their efforts," Carroll said. "It was really late, and it was really out of line.â€￾

Dec. 02, 2011 7:59 p.m. - by John Boyle - Seahawks confirm LT Okung's injury
The Seahawks have confirmed that LT Russell Okung has a torn pectoral muscle. While he has not yet been placed on injured reserve, that is an injury that will presumably end his season.

To go along with backup sumo Stacy Andrews of the G men going down for the season, Rams have put Jacob Bell on IR. Weenieworld predicts that he's seen his last days with the Rams.

Yep if the line is 4 White starters the Black left tackle is inevitably the glue that binds the line. Even if he has all of the movement of the proverbial cigar store Indian......

Sherrod broke his right leg when Kansas City linebacker Tamba Hali rolled into in the fourth quarter of the Chiefs' 19-14 victory Sunday.
(Updated 12/18/11) STATS LLC
Advice Sherrod took over in the first half when starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga went down with what a strained knee, though it wasn't clear which knee he hurt. Sherrod was the Packers' first-round draft pick out of Mississippi State.

Another "great athlete with limitless upside" who has been a colossal bust. The Rams could have been a much improved team in recent years if not for their love affair with sumos.

A league source tells NFL.com Rams RT Jason Smith "won't be back" at his current 2012 base salary of $10 million, and is a candidate for release. This seconds a recent Profootballtalk.com report, which said Smith has been issued an ultimatum to take a pay-cut or be released. Only $1 million of his 2012 salary is guaranteed. Limited by concussions to just 29 of a possible 48 games since being the No. 2 overall pick of the 2009 draft, Smith has been abysmal in pass protection and only marginally better against the run. He's on the verge of washing out of the league.
