Stipe Miocic

It’s hard to believe that this great White athlete, fighter and champion is without his own thread. In this anti-White and anti-masculine society there are not a lot of positive role models for our boys to aspire to. I believe Stipe is a White man worthy of emulation and praise.

He’s a former heavyweight UFC champ and one of the best and toughest in the business. As if that’s not enough, he’s a part time fireman who works 12-24 hour shifts in between training 5 or 6 times a week. He works in this Cleveland suburb firehouse not because he’s needs to but because he wants to. He’s financially secure but still risks his life to help his community. Other positive traits are he’s confident yet humble. He also has a beautiful wife and a daughter. Hopefully he’ll regain the title and have more beautiful babies in time.

Agreed. Miocic just got caught in the first fight. I see him grinding out a decision or late KO on Saturday.

Damn - Stipe weighed in at 230. He is usually 246 or 247. He is getting KO'd early. Whenever guys weight in way less they lose by KO.

Chael Sonnen just put out a video on Stipe. Apparently a couple months ago, he had a grappling match in Cleveland against a purple belt and lost. Afterwards in an interview he said he was exhausted in the match and his conditioning needed improvement. Perhaps that's the reason for him coming down in weight. Not sure it's a good idea though and needs to be very careful not to get caught by anything this time around.

Cormier may have his number. I think Stipe beats a lot of guys that Cormier doesn't beat easily except by fluke, like Jon Jones, but Cormier matches up well with Stipe. He gets inside of his range and dirty boxes and Stipe doesn't seem to defend it well.

Cormier is such a lousy cheater. He was deliberately eye poking and shoving his fingers into the eye area of Stipe, and landed a nut shot that Stipe took 0 seconds trying to recover (Herb Dean the worst in the business wasn't going to give him any anyway), too much of a good dude for his own good. Stipe was blatantly poked in the eye and Herb just told him to fight through it, not one warning. I don't understand how Herb still has his job, doesn't seem to be any accountability for MMA refs.

Yes in a mild upset he regains his crown. Cormier seemed to fatigue as the fight went on and got physically lazier and think Stipe sensed it as he started banging him hard to the body. Usually in the UFC when a guy loses he seems to fall of a cliff, but as many posters said about the first fight, Stipe seemed to lose the fight more than Cormier won the fight. The naturally larger man should be able to wear down the smaller man if conditioning becomes a factor and with a dad bod Cormier was sucking wind bad in the fateful 4th round.

Yes the eye poke could have easily led to another ko loss as he seemed stunned for a few seconds with the follow up barrage. Terrible job by Dean.

He’s beaten the top fighters in numerous promotions, including Stipe last year. Despite fighting countless fighters with striking ability, he’s only been KO’d once before tonight...and that was via a head kick from Jon Jones. That fight was later ruled a “no contest” due to Jones being on PED’s. Cormier might retire after what Stipe did to him tonight. White pride!

White pride indeed! I couldn’t be happier for Stipe. He’s as deserving a champion as there could be and a great role model for our young men to aspire to.

Despite the slow start and eye pokes, Miocic kept his cool and adapted as the fight went on. By the fourth he had figured Cormier out and just took him apart. Sometimes a loss really helps a fighter. Stipe came in this time knowing it would take super focus and a gargantuan effort to win, and he delivered.

Jon Jones would have lost his last fight to Thiago Santos if Santos would have been injury free (go and watch it if you don't believe me). Without the juice, he is not the same. Stipe is a bigger, stronger, smarter version of Santos. I think Jones will avoid Stipe and stay at light heavy. I suspect the UFC will set up a rematch between Stipe and Francis Nganou (sp?).

Agreed. Cormier has been in the octagon with a murderer’s row of world-class strikers (many of whom had significant height/weight/reach advantages over him) and survived them all with ease. Anderson Silva, Rumble Johnson (twice), Dan Henderson, Roy Nelson, Bigfoot Silva, Volkan Oezdemir, Derrick Lewis, Alex Gustafsson, and Stipe Miocic in their first fight. The only fights that ever gave him any problems was when he was knocked down by Gustafsson, Jon Jones in their two fights, and then last night against Stipe. Beating Cormier, a former Olympic wrestler and two-weight UFC titleholder, takes a special fighter. Miocic is a beast...

Well said Thrashen! Thanks for posting video too! Everything changed at 2:44 of video; Stipe started to throw "Body Shots" that were simply too much. Post fight interview Cormier gave Stipe props for changing that up!

Agree with Limitless that Jones better get back on the roids if he wants to beat Thiagos.

I am glad Miocic won with TKO but it seemed Cormier hit him anytime he wanted and that is a bit scary. If he fights Ngannou again and gets hit that easy he will get KO'd.

Shows you how hard Gustafson hits at 205lbs to be able to drop Cormier.

Miocic showed he is made of champion material coming back from that intentional eye-poke and follow up barrage from Cormier.

Was able to watch this fight and I was very impressed with how Stipe was able to make adjustments and especially when he started going to the body in the 4th. After 3 or 4 of those body shots, Cormier was in survival mode and I figured the end was near. Stipe is world class and easily the greatest mma heavyweight of all time. It’s the all time greats that learn how to adjust during a fight to win and that’s exactly what Stipe did.

Interesting tidbit on why Stipe may have been stopped in the first fight with DC. I heard Joe Rogan talk about how maybe he didn’t have enough time off to fully recover after the long Ngannou fight. This actually makes sense as to why Cormier was able to hurt him in the first fight pretty easily but not in the second.

Hardly anyway mentions the blatant eye-pokes in the first DC-Stipe fight. I believe they played a part in his loss.
