Wlad looked great tonight. He uses his skill set to make the third ranked Heavyweight quit on his stool. He was relaxed and appeared to be in excellent condition to go 12 rounds.

When you watch Wlad fight it appears he could do more, but that punishing left jab and after every ten jabs, that crushing right hand just breaks world class fighters, such as today. Bottom line, he wins, either KO's his opponent or makes them quit. Pretty impressive to me.

In the words of Wlad, "f..k Haye, I am moving on, let him earn the right to fight for the Championship." In regards to his supposed injury. Yeah, let him fight Povekin first. Congrats Wlad!

Did Klitscko really say "F--k Haye?"

WA 33, yes! According to Dan Raphael's boxing scorecard on ESPN.Com. Wlad was interviewed regarding Haye's mystery injury and let his feelings be known. If I am Wlad, I would tell Haye, you want fight me, great, here are the conditions, 1st beat Potvenkin, then fight my brother. I am pretty sure Haye will fake another injury.

The jigs and wiggers are up in arms on various boxing sites disparging Wlad. I feel great and look forward to the rest of my weekend.

Wow. I only asked because that is not the way Wladimir acts. He must have been really pissed off!!! Klitschko came in excellent shape to todays fight expecting it to be Haye until several weeks ago. Haye would have lost within 6 rounds today.

Chagaev is a good fighter but he looked like a bum today. I thought he would be able to get inside on Wladimir. After all he got inside on Valuev who is 7 feet tall. I know Valuev isn't half the fighter Klitschko is but still. Haye should really consider fighting some more bums like Monte Barrett and just talking alot of trash. That is all he is good at.

Wlad is definitely angry at Haye, and for good reason. Here's the post-fight interview on the ESPN website from Sky Sports:

In other news I believe Clinton Woods may be fighting Tavoris Cloud for the IBF lightheavyweight title that Chad Dawson vacated. It would be great for Woods to regain his title.

Very impressive win by Wlad. He should be top 10 p4p in all the ratings now but his skin color is not quite right for some people.

Clinton Woods is past prime, so to be honest there's little chance he'll defeat Tavoris Cloud. It's a bad style matchup for Woods, he'll likely get KOed because he's too slow to evade Cloud's big punches.

Young Nathan Cleverly might defeat Cloud in the future though. And we have another good one at light heavyweight in Igor Michalkin.

Klitschko proves his prowess again and again and again. Other than his brother there is not a boxer on the planet that is as dangerous. Chagaev was everyone's number 1 contender and he was punched back into the ropes all night and landed not nearly a punch in 9 rounds. His jab is so fast and heavy no one can get past it. He's too big, too powerfull, too skilled, and too clever to let anyone near him. He's 6'7" and fights tall. What else can we say about him?

On many sites from here in North America I would say the support for him is 50/50. If he was from the United States I doubt support for him would be much higher. Lesnar and Couture are Americans and they do alright but are not household names. But I believe with absolute certainty that if the Klitschkos were black the media in North America, Britain, and in a good part of Western Europe would fawn over them and tell us daily how incredible they are.

Wladimir is only 33 and may be champion for as much as 6 years yet. Get used to it.

What is scary is that as good as Wladimir is Vitali is even better. Wladimir had trouble with Sam Peter as he was knocked down three times. He was dominating in punches though. We all saw what happened when Vitali fought Peter. If Wladimir fought Juan Carlos Gomez, I think Gomez would steal a few rounds. Against Vitali Gomez looked like an amateur. The only type of fighter that would have a chance of beating Wladimir would be a very tall and athletic fighter. The thing is there never will be that type of fighter.

I think if they were from AmeriKa, the support for them would be even less. At least they have the unyielding support of countries like germany.

Vitali is better than Wlad in nearly every way. He has more of the intangibles...like killer instinct and certainly the best ability to take a punch in HW history. For god's sake, Vitali's never even been knocked down! It's so sickening that these guys arent household names....other than to "mock" them and the "pathetic" HW division they fight in.Edited by: Thrashen

You are right on that Thrashen. The difference between Wlad and Vitali is that Wlad sometimes struggles a bit with guys his size. Vitali never struggles at all. Tony Thompson stole some rounds from Wladimir when they fought back in July. Vitali would probably have knocked Thompson out much earlier than the 11th round.

Both of you guys make very good points. However, I don't think Vitali betters Wladimir in every way. Wladimir is more purely skilled and his jab is sharper, crisper. Vitali's jab is like a blunt club. Both are impossible jabs to face without a jab of equal abitlity.

Good point of Wladimir's foreign celebrity status, they probably wouldn't get that either if they were white Americans.

Wladimir is older now and much more seasoned. I think if he fought Peter again he would stop him like he did Chagaev. Remember when he fought Peter he was just coming off a confidence loss.

But, in the end, it has to be Vitali who takes the crown as the slightly better fighter. Either way, they are untouchable.

I know Chagaev was getting his ass handed to him and was close to being knocked down a second time and had no chance of winning this fight, but i wonder if him having hepatitis b had anything to do with him quitting on the stool, because he doesnt seem to be the type of guy who would quit, even if hes getting demolished and taking devastating hits. He had a cut on his eye that was bleeding and Hepatitis B is transmitted through blood and bodily fluids. I wonder if he was worried about transmitting it, that would be a very disrespectful thing to do.

It would suck if Wlad had contracted the disease, then it would be harder for him to fight and people scared of him would duck him saying that as an excuse. So not saying this would have changed the outcome of the fight, just saying he doesnt seem to be the type of person to quit on his stool.

"That bout was called off after the weigh-in when doctors found Hepatitis-B antigens in Chagaev's blood.

Because the rules are different in Germany, Chagaev managed to pass a medical exam and was allowed to fight Klitschko, even though several organizations protested, including the American Association of Professional Ringside Physicians."Edited by: dwid

I just looked at a site called eastsideboxing.com. There it is said that Wladimir Klitschko is destined to remain an under-appreciated champion like Larry Holmes. Funny thing, I mentioned in another thread recently that every story written about Holmes when he was champion had this theme. The writer would complain that Holmes didn't get his "due credit" in one paragraph, while in the next he would call Holmes one of the greatest champions ever.

Are any boxing writers calling Klitschko a great champion?

All I know is that Wladimir Klitschko and Vitali Klitschko are the most talented heavyweight champions in recent memory, and their career achievements should not be considered any less simply because the competition can't match up to them.

It is not that there is a lack of competition. If you check boxrec you can see there are hundreds of black heavyweights out of the 1000 or so professionals. Everyone on this site knows well that if the Klitschko's were black they would get credit for being "the world's most dominant fighters." There wouldn't be any talk about a lack of competition. They would be considered great fighters like Tyson or Lewis. F--k Teddy Atlas and all his media racists.

What makes Vitali the overall better fighter are his whiskers. Vitali has an iron jaw. He can withstand hard shots better. Wlad the other day admitted to having a glass jaw and fights to protect it. No shame it that. As a matter of fact, it takes more courage and skill to win, with a glass jaw.

But as far as raw atheletic skills, Wlad is better that Vitali. His movement is more fluid and precise. When watching him fight in real time, it is hard to appreciate him. His movement for a man of his size is unreal. You only get an understanding of his skills when his punches are played in slow motion. During the fight those jabs don't look like they are cuasing much damage. Slow motion you see the devastation. Over the course of 4 or 5 rounds the damage adds up and a fighter is broken down, such as last night.

Vitali and Wlad are indeed the best fighters since Lennox Lewis. I believe they will be afforded their respect if they keep beating down all comers. If they beat decisively and spectacularly Haye and Arreola this year, that respect will come sooner rather than later.

Its funny, the president of the United States is a narcassitic black who deep down is a socilist and is directing our country towards a european dependence style of government. The Heavyweight Champions of the World are white men who rejected the Soviet Union and yearned to create their own opportunities through skill and desire. The latter has succeeded. The former, I hope has less that 3 1/2 left in office.

Good read West. Good to hear from you too. I think -though I cannot confirm- that Wlad's right is a harder hit than Vitali's. As for Haye and Arreola, I view those fights as mere formalities.
