Good points. For example, last decade (2010's) only two white DB's were totally immune from the scorn of fans and the media: Eric Weedle and Harrison Smith. It's quite possible both are heading to the Hall of Fame. So, does Riley Moss have to play at a Hall of Fame level to be accepted as a quality NFL cornerback?
I'd say, last decade, Jim Leonhard and (possibly) Andrew Sendjo were the only two "other" starting DB's that didn't face really brutal, weekly attacks from fans and media. But both were constantly seen as "hold the fort" players. Bill Parcells term -- meaning players that were seen as short term starters, until a more "suitable" (or black) replacement was found.
