How about this crock of ******** revisionist history by Marvin X that's regurgitated by The Boston Globe without the reporter questioning it or doing any of his own research. More fake news, reminds me of how Mike Mayock single-handedly labeled Ryan Swope as "concussion prone" as it was instantly parroted by the rest of the hive media as gospel. Just watch how this will become the new party line -- Burkhead didn't get opportunities in Cincinnati because he was injured all the time, even though he somehow managed to be an indispensable special teams ace:
New Patriot Rex Burkhead struggled with injuries in Cincinnati
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said injuries played a factor in why new Patriots running back Rex Burkhead didn’t get as many opportunities as he would have liked in Cincinnati.
Burkhead, who signed a one-year, $3.15 million free agent deal with New England, has been a standout special teamer and showed flashes at running back last season, including a 119-yard game in Week 17.
“A lot of the times when Rex got opportunities to play, he wasn’t quite 100 percent, so that kind of limited him some,’’ said Lewis, acknowledging that Burkhead also was behind Jeremy Hill and Gio Bernard on Cincinnati’s depth chart.
“Even in preseason opportunities and so forth where he’d go into the games and it would be Rex’s ballgame to carry the ball in the first and second quarter and he wasn’t able to suit up, and that’s one of the things he’s battled over the years is being 100 percent completely healthy.’’
