Boston Globe writer looks at 6 Recent N.F.L. Draft Busts who are now on 2d (or 3d) chances. (The irony these bums still sticking around in the league!!!)
Four years ago the draft "experts" and scouts all described Jason Smith as fast, impenetrable and super-strong. This is how Weenieworld describes the second overall pick of the 2009 draft today:
The New York Post is "hearing" the Jets could bring back free agent OT Jason Smith. Smith was cut by the Saints on Wednesday. He signed with New Orleans after being released by the Jets earlier in the offseason. The Saints tried Smith at left tackle, but he's a slow-footed, turnstile right tackle-only lineman. He'd compete for the swing tackle role again with Gang Green.
and future failures Cam Newton, RGIII and Geno Smith were/are not only not called busts, but are given chance after chance to succeed.
Curry announced on Twitter today that he's "retiring". What a loser.Another epic bust. Never let it be forgotten that Curry was universally hailed as "the most NFL ready player" in the 2009 draft by the media and draft "experts," the same draft in which super-bust Brian Robiskie was proclaimed "the most NFL ready wide receiver." You can't make this stuff up.
Giants released LB Aaron Curry. The former No. 4 overall pick in the draft continues to prove himself a total bust. The most telling sign for Curry's roster chances was that he was a bubble player who didn't even earn significant preseason snaps.

Loser? He received a 60 million dollar contract with a huge signing bonus(possibly 34 million). He is 27 years old, without injury to his body nor brain. Sounds like he gamed the corrupt league. I believe the NFL is no longer bestowing these huge rookie contracts any longer. Man, how could a team give that money to a unproven player?? Oh, I forgot "he has "dat eternal upside."
It's glaringly obvious to those with objective eyes to see that the media and public are more forgiving of Black failure than White failure.

The irony is that he was viewed as the safest pick in the 2009 draft...lol
