This thug should be the starting quarterback of a prison gang football team. He obviously dosen't know how to act like a human being. This is why I think building these thug athletes up into God like figures only leads to their ultimate downfall. This particular one will never make it out of college based on his recent actions. Like I said before you cant the kid out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the kid.

Judging from everything I've read about how quiet and shy he is, and how the opposing crowds were cursing, slurring, and taunting him mercilessly from the minute he stepped off of the bus,I don't have a problem with anything he did at all.I like when people show a little backbone. We always encourage white athletes to stand up for themselves against verbal abuse, but then turn around and condemn a black kid when he decides he's not gonna take that sh*t? I say goodfor him.

you my freind are just plain missing the whole point of what this site is about. It's people like you who have made them the way they are. Quick to makes excuses when they act sub human. I'm sure you would'nt feel that way if he hit your kid with the basketball he threw into the stands. It's unfortunate that Terrelle Pryor has no parental upbringing to steer him on the right path of respectabilty. You Capone are the reason Ray Lewis is still allowed to play football for a living I sincerly hope your proud of yourself.

So throwing a basketball into the crowd is acceptable player and its all right to skip a s handshake from an opposing team's coach? You have got it all wrong sir. Its one thing to talk trash to people who are riding your back but the other childish antics by Pryor are inexcusable!

Pryor came out acting horrible that night, according to this witness (the writer). The crowd did nothing to him but serve as the subject of his slurs and profanities.

Anyone elsestarting to smell something around here?

Seriously, I just can't think of anybody among my former teammates and kids I coach who could shout death threats like that, and they were/are not all nice kids. It's inconceivable in my mind. Back in the days when we played in rimouski in front of a 3,500 people crowd(that's REAL big for our class of football) shouting profanities at us, coaches were keeping us minded on the game, one of our guys flipped the bird at the crowd and was taken out of the game. I just can't beleive people watched him do all that stuff and NOBODY did anything.

But Pryor can't completely avoid the spotlight. South Fayette fans jeered him so lustily Saturday night that two were escorted from the stands by police officers. After the game, Pryor approached the stands and responded to the crowd before teammates pulled him away.

Pryor's actions drew criticism from one local newspaper. That criticism annoyed Nesser, who said South Fayette fans were extremely abusive.

"I know fans pay their money, you've got to remember, Terrelle Pryor is a senior in high school," Nesser said. "He's a kid. He's not a professional. He's not getting paid to play. I know fans have the right to say what they want, but the kid still has feelings."

Athletes aren't robots. They're human beings. Fans are no better than they are, and have no right to spew all that venom at them for no reason.I respect people who defend themselves, and don't take crap from a bunch of nerds who've never worn a jockstrap in their lives.

How many threads have there been on this board about the vitriolic abuse Danny Ferry, Christian Laettner, Bobby Hurley, and JJ Redick took from the drunk white fans across the ACC?I wouldLOVED to have seen them threaten to shove a basketball right down a Tarheel fan'sf'ing throat rather than simplywhining about it onSportscenter every 2 weeks.

When Philip Rivers was twisting those Indy fans taunts right back up their *sses, wasn't that a good thing? Didn't we support him when the media came down on him?We supported him because hedefended himself, and didn't take their crap.

More power to any athlete who mans up,and tells people where to stick it. I don't support people who choose to be other people's punching bags.

Do you really believe the small group of students from the opposing team were actually yelling racial slurs at Pryor? If so I've got a couple of used cars and a bridge I'd like to sell you. Do you really think that would have been ignored by the media in this day and age?

I believe the writer of the article; sadly it takes some courage to write honestly about the behavior of many affletes even when race isn't mentioned. This kid's beingportrayedas something he isn't as a person and most likely as an athlete too, because the systemis compelledto keep offering up black athletes for whites to worship.

I don't care, when he plays for OSU he'll get some more pressure from everywhere he'll go, how will he behave then? He gotta know with all the spotlight he has that he has some responsibility to act like an adult. When he will face the student section in michigan, will he shout "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU MOTHERf**kER!! COME SEE ME IN THE PARKING LOT AFTER THE GAME!!!" each and everytime?

And this isn't all about Pryor's behavior, it's also about all those enablers who let him respond as bad as he wish.

<H1 =line>Fight erupts after Jeannette-NC playoff game</H1>
By George Guido
FOR THE TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Sunday, March 9, 2008

<DIV id=story>The WPIAL could discipline the Jeannette and North Catholic boys basketball teams in the aftermath of a fight among players Saturday following the teams' PIAA Class AA quarterfinal game at the Hempfield High School Field House.

WPIAL executive director Tim O'Malley said his office will conduct a hearing at 4 p.m. Tuesday at an undisclosed location. Both schools are expected to file written reports Monday about the incident.

Jeannette won the game, 86-60, to advance to the semifinals of the tournament Wednesday, but penalties could include suspensions that may affect the playing status of the Jeannette players. Jeannette is scheduled to play the winner of today's Farrell/North East game.

"The possibility exists that anytime you have inappropriate behavior, there are consequences," said O'Malley, who did not attend the Jeannette-North Catholic game. "It is up to the board to make a determination after it hears from both sides. We heard some things. Clearly, both sides will have an opportunity to explain to the board what took place. The board will react on Tuesday."

Jeannette coach Jim Nesser declined comment about the fight.

The incident occurred moments after an overflow crowd of more than 2,800 people was leaving the game. Players confronted each other outside the North Catholic locker room, which is located down a flight of stairs from the gymnasium.

Two Hempfield faculty members and North Catholic's coaches reportedly tried to break up the fight. Rob Stauffer, an assistant basketball coach at Hempfield, was visibly shaken after trying to serve as a peacemaker and had his eyeglasses broken. Stauffer said he was holding back Jeannette star Terrelle Pryor during the incident.

North Catholic coach Dave Long said members of his team were treated for "lacerations, bruising and swelling in and around the eyes."

"There were things that were said upstairs, and we came down and tried to get into the men's (locker) room. Obviously, when you're dealing with 18-year-olds and highly emotional at that point, it wasn't a pretty scene."

Long praised Stauffer's efforts to help keep Jeannette and North Catholic players apart.

Hempfield officials summoned state police from the Greensburg barracks to the school. Four officers investigated, and no charges were filed as of last night. State police officially described the incident as a disturbance.

Players had to stay in their locker rooms until police finished the initial investigation. Players and coaches were permitted to leave nearly an hour after the game.

There were no visible confrontations among players or fans during the game other than some chants exchanged by the student bodies.

Jeannette dominated the game, shooting 68 percent in the first half and taking a 15-5 lead with 4:34 left in the first period. The first five Jayhawks' baskets were scored by five players, including 3-pointers by Shaw Sunder and Jordan Hall.

"By now, people realize that we're more than Terrelle Pryor," Nesser said. "We've been playing like this all year."

Pryor and Sunder led Jeannette (23-4) with 21 points each. Hall added 19, and Moziah Harris 13. North Catholic's Henry Pwono led all scorers with 22, but his team never threatened to take the lead.

"The way they started the game, it was obvious that they were going to have a great night," said Long, whose team ended its season at 25-5.

Jeannette led, 46-35, at halftime, and the Jayhawks turned up the defensive pressure in the second half, increasing their lead to 18 late in the third period.

"I was really proud of how our team played defensively in the second half. I really thought that was the difference in the game," Nesser said.

Pryor is now tied for 11th place on the WPIAL's all-time scoring list, with 2,245 points. He passed Lance Jeter of Beaver Falls and tied James Hairston of Connellsville yesterday. Pryor is two points from reaching Pine-Richland's Allen McQuarrie for the No. 10 spot.

How much you wanna bet Pryor receives no punishment? This kid is looking more and more like Mike Vick Jr. in more ways than one.

Don what the heck does the WPIAL stand for and how does it break down in
terms of divisions for schools. Like I know here in Ohio we got 6 divisions
for football with 1 being the biggest schools and 6 the smallest. However, all
the other sports have just 3 divisions.

Thanks Col. Reb this does help a lot. However, the districts then make no sense. Why do some have as little as 9 schools and the biggest one has 123 schools and they're not even all in the same classification. Also then does this mean that there is an EPIAL for the eastern part of the state?

This information is from www.dyestat.com, the source for high school track & field. It will be quite difficult for anyone to legitimately say that Sam McGuffie lacks "elite speed" or "elite athleticism" or whatever. But, forget the measurables, he just may not have the "wiggle" to be a top running back (being a Caucasian, you know).

US#1 37.12 300 hurdles by Cy Fair sr Sam McGuffie, who also captured the 100 in 10.86 and long jump with 22-2.5

McGuffie long jumped 23ft 10-3/4 last season. For a HS junior, that is far!
He also high jumped 6ft 6inches.

He is definitely an athlete!Edited by: jacknyc

He is definitely and athlete and has the numbers to prove it. I am just mocking those who seem to always find a fault in a white running back, no matter what his accomplishments.

btw Pryor choosed Ohio State
I can't decide if this is good news or bad news for Sam. RichRod's fondness for black players is well documented. He was gambling his entire season on getting Pryor. He allowed his servants to leak the story that he felt Mallett should transfer in order to encourage just such an action and to convince Pryor that he would start as a freshman. Well, Component A worked as planned. Mallett left for the Razorbacks. But now Rodriguez doesn't have his 'ideal' quarterback. What will he do this season? Will he reshape his offense and try to become more like Tulsa for one season? By most accounts, there isn't a QB on campus who fits his gimmick system. So he'd need to become a spread throwing team in order use his available personnel. If that's the case, does McGuffie get redshirted? Or perhaps converted to the slot?
I have to admit, I don't follow the day to day reports from schools that I'm not terribly interested in. Does anyone know what Rodriguez's "backup" plan is? And how that might affect Sam.
