Im hoping bell can stay healthy his last 2 years of college and maybe get a shot at playing on sundays

With 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter game vs Colorado, Bell has about 90 yards rushing.

(On a side note the CSU defense is loaded with white players)

wow, Bell sure got his share of carries

40 carries for 137 yards (3.4 ypc, real good average considering o-line), 1 TD and 2 catches for 16 yards.

If he cranks up the ypc he could get labeled a workhorse back and get the most retarded of scouts to give him a look as running fullback. I hope he has a big year.....

I was happy to see Bell get so many carries, he needed the actual real time football contact. I think he will improve as the season goes on but than again 137 yds is a nice start and a welcome back from a year off. It will only help him get into football shape.

Kyle is such a plodding runner. I wish he'd cut more and use the defenders' momentum as weapon more.

From what I saw in the first three quarters, Kyle showed tremendous vision and solid agility/cutting ability. His break-away speed is nothing to write home about but he is a big boy after all. Defenders seemed to do a good job of taking out his legs (funny how defenders seem to make form-perfect tackles against white RB's). If anything, he seemed to be lacking in the stamina department and was really breathing heavy early on. I thought he did real well considering the suspect run blocking he received.

I think Kyle looks really good for someone who was playing in a real game for the first time in over a year and a half. He will get back to his 2005 form soon, and he might even get more than 1200 yards this year. Go Kyle Go!

Kyle Bell should be fine once he gets used to being hit and gets into football shape. He did pretty well in his first game back in over a year.

You'd think that with a mostly white team his OL would be better. Too bad he can't have Wisconsin's or Ohio States.

Bell is gonna need a good 40 yards dash to have a chance to be drafted..

i wonder what he runs in 40.

and yeah, Rams o-line is not a top-notch talent...

His 40 time is estimated by NFLdraftscout.com at 4.56 (certainly not blazing) which is the same as Larry Johnson's combine time and faster than lots of other starting HB's in the NFL currently. I looked up his scout.com profile and he ran a 4.48 at the Nike H.S combine I believe. For a big RB who's as powerful as him it should be good enough, but he's white remember, so he will be treated unfairly.

Sorry but 4.5 is good enough to play in the NFL. Frankly, I'm dubious about these 4.2 40 times.

Yeah 4.5 is certainly fast enough to be an NFL tailback. By my research your average starting NFL tailback runs in the low 4.5's. All those drunken fans who think these guys are all running 4.2's are out of their mind.

Leonard was listed out of H.S as running a 4.47 so Bell is close to him, but Bell is more powerful. Bell may need to do the Leonard thing and drop weight to run his 4.5 (combine times are slightly slower) at the combine so he won't be moved to FB. Being that he is from Colorado St. which doesn't get much exposure, he will probably have to win the Doak award to be a first day pick and he still might get screwed if that. And the Doak award seems very unlikely behind that offensive line.

also you haveto factor in the fact that he is also 6'1 and 220. that should play an important role as far as third downs go. I think in the next couple of years you are going to see a rise in backs with size such as leonard, peterson, and reggie bush just to name a few.

lol, reggie bush.... just because he stand 6 feet tall doesnt make him a "back with size". He plays like a back 5'8 180. He's a glorified scatback.

Go Bell!

Colorado State comes to Houston to play the UH Cougars on Sept. 22. I'm going to go out to Robertson and root for Kyle.

The game is on CSTV fer the rest of you.

Bell is going to have to step it up to have a shot of even getting drafted. Two seasons ago after his brilliant '05 campaign he was listed by nfldraftscout.com as the 10th best RB in the nation. Now returning from injury he has dropped down to 35th.

To make things worse his yards per carry this year is 3.6 so far. That is a big step down from his 4.8 YPC in 2005. I know his O-line is horrible, but I could see him becoming a day one pick if he can get his YPC up to the mid 5's w/ the way he is being featured. He's going to have to to get noticed for inconspicuous Colorado State.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

They have had a tough schedule. The Rivalry Game is always hard and then last week they played #8 Ranked California. He is doing just fine for this early in the year. I'm just mainly glad for two things. Number one he seems to be healthy since he has been getting alot of touches and shows no ill affects from the surgery. Number two is that he has another year of college ball left.

Kyle Bell needs to go over a thousand yards this year and next. Then he would have three seasons of high quality production for the NFL to see that he is a very durable back. Getting his yards per carry average will also help him like Tough J. Riggins said as well. Can Kyle be another Larry Csonka or John Riggins?I sure hope so.

Would Larry Csonka and John Riggins be good enough to actually run with the ball in today's NFL with it's superior athletes, or would they be blocking fullbacks? (LOL) Sounds ridiculous, but who knows, given the beliefs of the times? What white running back has gotten many carries since the '80s?
