The reports are that the Steelers got Schobert for a 6th round draft pick. If so this is a steal for one of the top inside linebackers in the league. Schobert is good against the run and the pass.

This trade reflects badly on both the Jaguars but on other teams in the league who had an opportunity to trade for Schobert. Some teams may not have been able to acquire him because of cap issues but other teams could have.

Whites have been so devalued so much in the NFL and by the MSM, that even pro bowl caliber white players now have little value.

Great post. I totally agree with everything said. Even with undeniable productivity on the field the Jaguars deemed Schobert expendable. Meanwhile the perennially overrated Miles Jack remains entrenched as a starting LB for Jacksonville.

This article on the Schobert trade makes it obvious what Meyer is doing without saying it explicitly. Damien Wilson has played six seasons in the NFL, mostly as a backup and isn't anywhere close to being as productive as Joe when he does start. But he has the "locker room vibe" that Meyer wants. Most fans are clueless about how important the "locker room vibe" is when it comes to the Caste System:

The football X-and-O theories about why the Jacksonville Jaguars were willing to give former Pro Bowl linebacker Joe Schobert to the Steelers for a meager sixth-round draft choice have been well-discussed. The premise is that new Jags general manager Trent Baalke and head coach Urban Meyer didn’t see Schobert as fit for defensive coordinator Joe Cullen’s scheme.

The reasoning advanced in some publications that I’ve read is that the organization didn’t feel as if Schobert was a good enough run support player next to fellow Jaguars inside linebacker Myles Jack and that there was too much roster redundancy there. Essentially, Meyer and Cullen want former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Damien Wilson to be a run-stuffing hammer, while Jack patrols sideline-to-sideline. And they are more intrigued about the futures (and cost efficiency) of second-year linebacker Shaquille Quarterman and Alabama rookie Dylan Moses.

So, as a rebuilding franchise, Jacksonville deemed Schobert’s $7.35 million salary cap hit to be expendable. Hence, the willingness to part with him for so little after ousted Jags general manager Dave Caldwell signed the former Cleveland Browns standout to a $53.75 million contract just one year ago. As Jamal St. Cyr of News4Jax pointed out on Tuesday’s “Breakfast With Benz” podcast, since the previous regime of Caldwell and ex-head coach Doug Marrone brought Schobert to Jacksonville, new management didn’t have any attachment to that investment.

“Joe Schobert wasn’t one of their guys,” St. Cyr said of Meyer and Baalke. “They didn’t bring him in. And they made it very clear that they wanted a very particular type of person. … They felt like Damien Wilson fit the defense and the locker room vibe a little bit better. So they figured while they could get something back, to go ahead and make that move.” https://triblive.com/sports/joe-schoberts-personality-may-have-factored-into-to-trade-to-steelers/

Urban wanted somebody a "little more urban". I hope the Jaguars suck, too bad Lawrence ended up there..

Helluva steal for The Steelers though!

Thanks for that article and breakdown Don. It explicitly lays out the caste system and proves its existence. “Lurkers take note”.

Starters to open the season for the 2021 Pittsburgh Steelers:

QB: Ben Roethlisberger
FB: Derek Watt (rarely used is primarily a star WSTD)
TE: Pat Freiermuth (is listed as a co-starter along with Eric Ebron on the Steelers official site)

LOLB: T. J. Watt (finally signed for the big bucks he was seeking)
RILB: Joe Schobert

Total number of White starters: 4.5, more like 3.5 given how little Derek Watt is utilized

There are only 7 other White players on the 53 man roster: QB Mason Rudolph, Center J. C. Hassenauer, utility o-lineman B. J. Finney, tackle Joe Haeg, TE Zach Gentry, ILB Robert Spillane, and K Chris Boswell. The punter is a Black rookie, Pressley Harvin.

Grade: F+ (debated whether to give the + or not, but decided to since the Steelers have two starting White LBs)

Still can’t believe Haskins made the team and Sexton is a street free agent.

The Steelers DWFs will clamor for Haskins if Big Ben retires at the end of the season. In fact, they'd clamor for Josh Dobbs over Rudolph if he was still on the team. I've been following the Caste NFL for a looooooong time and I don't think there's another city where White quarterbacks have been treated as poorly as in Pittsburgh, starting with the Terry Bradshaw era in the 1970s all the way through to Big Ben.

Considering Ben’s age and the all-ebony line in front of him, I doubt he makes it through a full 17 game season. If he has to miss a game or three, would they go to Randolph or would Tomlin call on his “soul brotha” to take the reigns? Time will tell…

Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! Big Ben was hit 10 times against the Raiders and he is banged up already. Even BSPN is criticizing this piss poor excuse of an OL!

The horrible all-sumo o-line is also getting a lot of flak, deservedly so.

And the defense was feeble without T. J. Watt playing, they were unable to sack Burrow even once.

Tomlin also getting lots of criticism, he's had his share of critics for a long time.

Big Ben should have retired after last season on a fairly high note, unless there's an unexpected turnaround the Steelers are going to have their worst regular season record in a long time.

I haven't written him off either, but if the team has a poor season they're not going to bring him back and he most likely won't want to anyway. He's taken a pounding for most of his Hall of Fame career, had major elbow surgery two years ago, and at 39 the Steelers aren't going to keep paying him top dollar. They hemmed and hawed a good portion of the offseason as it was over whether to bring him back or not, maybe Mason Rudolph will get a decent audition if the season goes way south.

Early on not looking good for Big Ben or Steelers. Still a lot for time to turn things around, but with that sumo OL it's going to be tough. We(CF) correctly predicted that would be a major concern heading into '21. Apparently no one else had reason for concern though!

I'm of the opinion Big Ben should have retired as well..

If Steelers tank like they are on track it will be Tomlin's 1st losing season. The MSM will be in mourning

Derrek Tuszka was playing on Sunday.....
He got in on a few snaps......
Wearing Dupree’s old 48 number.

I was thinking maybe he was a halfy, but no, he’s a white kid
I hope he does well....
The Steelers should have kept Spillane in at LB.
Bush has played at a fourth round level as a first round pick.
Spillane has played at a third round level as a non drafted kid.

Bush played 81% of the snaps against the Bengals and had the following stat line: 0 tackles, 2 assists.

Wow, if Spillane had received those snaps instead he would have certainly had anywhere from 5-10 tackles. Maybe even more if he were to play above average.

Big Ben really being hammered now as the Steelers are looking at a bottom feeding season for the first time in a very long time unless they turn it around. I guess a Hall of Fame quarterback who's won two Super Bowls isn't allowed to decline when he's 39, has taken a tremendous beating over the years, and has the league's worst offensive line "protecting" him. The DWFs refuse to give Roethlisberger any respect for his great career and all he's done for the team over the years, including carrying them on his shoulders some seasons. Not surprising in the least as he's always been a target for most of his career. The Pittsburgh DWFs are a bunch of well-indoctrinated ingrates who hate White quarterbacks and White football players in general, even after seven years of Kordell Stewart as the starter.

Kordell Stewart was and always will be very overrated. Similar to many of the media and fans magical quarterbacks. The best ones are in more of the traditional mode of a
drop back quarterback. What did Kordell do to make him so great? Steeler Fans like many other nfl fans hate their own culture. It's one reason we are in this mess. Well the
only bright side is that if we make it through this ordeal, it will be a far more awake world. Whites in general are awaking finally to see this attempt at genocide.

Big Ben is a Hall of Famer and a total team player. Many times he has taken a back seat to let other guys have the glory. The Steelers would not have been in the playoffs
year in and year out without him. He is the most important piece. The NE Pats are seeing how important Brady was. Pittsburgh and their dwf's will also see this soon.

Wasn't the 1st round Alabama Running Back the best value pick of the 2021 draft? Didn't everyone say how he was going to come in and be the long term answer at the position? So far he a 3.4 YPC avg.

I looked up Stewart's statistics. He was the starter for 5 years for Pittsburgh and he was bad for all 5 years. His last year as a starter he had an 81.7 quarterback rating. That was his best year and he undeservedly made the Pro Bowl that year. Talk about black privilege.

Kordell Stewart was a terrible quarterback who was literally given the better part of a decade to realize his "upside." He occasionally made an exciting play but overall was awful. Some of it is chronicled on this site. That's why I mentioned him above, as bad as he was, Steelers DWFs learned nothing and have always been quick to hate on Big Ben, who is the best quarterback in franchise history, yes better than Terry Bradshaw, who had a tremendous supporting cast around him on both sides of the ball.

Wow, I remember him being an overrated player from my childhood but never looked at his stats. He’s actually a terrible player. 77 career touchdown throws vs 84 career interceptions. Not one season where he averaged more than 200 yards passing per game. As a running QB, he also wasn’t that impressive. 400-500 yards at best.

I see that the team won a good amount during those years, so I’m guessing that extended his tenure. Did the media and DWFs pull the “all he do is win” routine?
