Oleg Maskaev vs Samuel Peter

If Peter beats Oleg look for shady ass N. Don King to scream for a rematch with Wlad with no real intention of fighting Him. This will likely spark off another feeding fenzy by the wiggers in Boxing forums that Wlad is ducking Peter when the opposite is true. King will also do everything in his power to avoid Vitali.Edited by: ironfist

Anybody know of a link where we can watch the fight this Sunday?
The fight will start at apx 10:30 on Saturday. TSN will pick up the fight at midnight on Sunday about half an hour after the HBO broadcast ends.

Thanks for getting me straight on that, white is right. I will provide a link, or directions to wherever I watch it, if I can get it to work for me.

These are two bull heavyweights, and Peter is the younger bull. I can see him rushing out to test Oleg's chin early. Likely Oleg expects that, and has a well placed counter right ready. I'm hoping.Edited by: Hockaday

Download TVU player and go to channel 66563 to watch the heavyweight fight. They are still prepping the ring for the main event. You have time to download it if you want.

Peter just stepped into the ring. Now Maskaev.

Maskaev is wearing a sombrero, but looks focused.

Now the introductions are going on.

Fight instructions now, and they will start. Here we go!

Round 1 is probably for Peter, both are apprehensive as usual in the first round. Peter landed a couple more. Maskaev is looking for one good opening.

Round 2 for Peter. Maskaev more active, but Peter landed more. Maskaev is looking for a weakness to exploit, and is trying to set him up with the left jab.

Thanks for the link, Colonel Reb! I'll watch it now on the computer, and the delayed broadcast later on TV.

Peter hit Maskaev 3 times in the back of the head. Maskaev came back from a flurry of punches to rock Peter with a couple of hard ones. I call it even in the 3rd.

4th round: Maskaev. Peter is starting to look tired and his punches are straying.

They announced the scores at ringside, some new system called 'open scoring.' All three judges have Peter ahead by 2 points.

5th round, Even. Both landed quite a few hard ones. Peter is somewhat flat footed, hopefully that will continue and he'll catch Peter sleeping.

The scoring is screwed up, and I'm no professional, but I think Maskaev needs a KO to win.

Ref stopped it, Peter wins by TKO.

I still think Peter should have had points taken for all those back of the head punches. He landed at least 10 of them.

One thing is for sure, Peter is no Wlad. Wlad will show him what real boxing is if they ever meet each other.

Not to make excuses, but Peter has got to be penalized for that stuff. He was clearly, deliberately hitting Maskaev in the back of the head while he was stunned.

I don't think I'm going to watch anymore of these fights online. Everytime I do, our guy loses. I watched Wlad beat Byrd on HBO in the Universal City Hilton in Hollywood, so maybe I just won't watch the next ones unless I can see it on TV.

The ref stopped the fight with 4 seconds left in the round and Maskaev still on his feet. Peter also hit Maskaev on the head of the head 4 time in this exchange. This one was in the books before the bell ever rung.

I agree Shogun, the scorers were for Peter and the ref wasn't paying any real attention to Maskaev's protests.

Disappointing to be sure, but a future Wladimir Klitschko KO of Sam Peter will help him prove without a doubt his greatness. It seems he can`t get any respect unless hefights and wins over blacks, so bring it on again, Sam Peter. I expect Wlad to be extremely confident when he has a chance to beat the Nigerian one more time. Unfortunately, we`ll have to wait a while for their rematch. Wladhas a couple of more wins and another belt to get first.
