The Bears O-Line have to be among the NFL's Worst! Feel bad for Cutler!

Cutler was outstanding, and at least Gruden and Jaworski were acknowledging it. He's guilty of bad decision making at times, but if he had the kind of protection Brady and Rodgers get, he would be an elite quarterback. He has a rifle arm and great accuracy. Cutler takes a lot of heat from know-nothing DWFs who expect miracles out of quarterbacks even when they are in impossible situations.

BTW, the Bears sported an (awful) all non-White o-line tonight, with Carimi injured. It's the only one in the league right now that I'm aware of other than the Steelers (whose line, not coincidentally, is also awful), who started one with Legursky injured.

Wendling is back in the league and got a start. That's news to me. Good news. And good to see Carpenter showing some life. All they need to do is throw The Hock a bone now and then. All right!

Right on cue... Monday Musings: Is Kolb a flop?

Quarterback question of the day: Did the Arizona Cardinals give up too much and overpay Kevin Kolb? It's a legitimate question five games into the season. The Cardinals are 1-4 and Kolb hasn't come close to looking like a long-term franchise quarterback.

He has been wildly inaccurate, and he's completing 58.7-percent of his passes. He has thrown five touchdown passes and six interceptions. His passer rating is 77.2, which is down near the bottom of the league and he turned it over three times in the Cardinals loss to the Vikings Sunday.

When I evaluated Kolb last spring, I saw the inconsistency in his game. He was accurate at times, but sometimes went wild. The Cardinals are seeing that wildness now. The Cardinals could have taken a quarterback last April in the first round of the draft, but opted to make the move for Kolb. It could be a move that sets this team back in a big way if Kolb doesn't get it going.

It's not like he doesn't have anybody to throw to since Larry Fitzgerald is his top guy. I do understand the Cardinals tackles aren't very good, and the pressure has been plenty, but Kolb hasn't played like a guy who can be the foundation of this franchise for years to come.

On the halftime show, they just showed Lance Alworth running in for a TD. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention, and just saw the end of it. Why were they talking about Lance Alworth?

Some 'super hero' wide receiver did something on Sunday (record wise) that only two players in the history of the league has ever done -- Alworth is one of the three, so he was mentioned by Berman, who also went out of his way to praise some Mexican CFL QB for setting the record for most yards in pro football history.

I realize that New Orleans could OWN the NFC South if they take care of business against Tampa (1st meeting this week) and Carolina (1 win, and 1 remaining contest).

And, New Orleans is looking like they should at least come away with a split against Atlanta. However, Drew Brees knows that his team isn't capitalizing on redzone scoring-opportunities, and was frustrated about missed chances against JAX and no doubt Carolina.

Of course, this is all easier said than done.. the MSM has been building up New Orleans all season because of their "appropriate blackness," but they do have flaws, and, if they allow teams to stay close, they'll lose some of those games.

Matt Schaub threw for over 400 yards (with Andre Johnson out with an injury) and almost led the Texans to a win over Oakland. I watched a lot of the game but am just now watching it on NFL Replay on the NFL Network, and didn't see on Sunday how FB Lawrence Vickers dropped a very simple pass with about 3 minutes left that would have been a walk-in touchdown. Two plays later Schaub was sacked, forcing Houston to kick a field goal. Any White kid 6 years and older would have made the catch.

As it turned out, Schaub made some spectacular plays at the end of the game but threw a pick on the last play. Don't know if he's taking heat for it, but probably is, but Vickers was the goat of the game who handed Oakland the win.

Yes, Vickers really blew the game....real problem was talented FB/WR/TE/H-Back James Casey left the game due to a pectoral tear. I haven't checked weenie world, but I fear it could be season ending.

Matt Schaub threw to Kevin Walter six times yesterday. Walter caught five of them for 81 yards and a touchdown, and one of those receptions was as nice a catch as you'll ever see, leaping fully stretched out to snag the ball just before it hit the turf ala Jim Edmonds making one of his great catches in center field. Schaub threw to Jacoby Jones and his "unlimited upside" 11 times yesterday; Jones caught exactly one of them, for nine yards.

Jones is now in his fifth NFL season. I figure by 2016 or 2017 he'll begin to realize his immense potential. :icon_rolleyes:

In addition to Walter catching five of six targets, Owen Daniels caught seven of eleven, and Joel Dreessen caught five of nine. But according to a prominent fantasy football site, Jacoby Jones (one catch out of eleven targets) "was mostly a victim of Schaub's inconsistency." Yeah, whatever the DWFs are buying this week. . .

Well, Houston added Derrick Mason from the New York Jets. Could this be an indication that Andre Johnson will be missing more time than previously thought?

If Jones' was force-fed, how does Schaub escape blame? A few years ago, I remember Schaub receiving a lot of buzz on CF. Perhaps he wasn't nearing "elite QB status" which was the thought at the time? Maybe he was just taking away stats that a team's running backs would usually get?

Over 400-yards passing, yet only 20 points and a loss to Scampbell. Offenses' are "more explosive" these days? New Orleans only scores 30 points against a Carolina team that was minus Beason, Thomas Davis and Ron Edwards, and has no-names on the interior d-line (although rookie - Sione Fua - seems to be playing pretty well).

Aaron Rodgers throws for nearly 400-yards, and GB had only 25 points to show for it. New England played a pitifully boring game against the New York Jets. New England used the running-game more, which was effective, but they didn't win by much. I'm a realist on NFL matters.

After Atlanta's 14-2 regular season last year, plus them securing a BYE, I said that I didn't consider them to be as good as their record. This year, Green Bay and New England could have excellent records going into the postseason, even San Fran and Detroit are real possibilities to accomplish this. San Fran could absolutely "clean out" their divisional opponents. "Explosive White Football" - or EWF - still has to be proven (NFL-wise). With Jordy being jerked around in GB, dark TEs and a darkening o-line, GB may no longer be an example of EWF. Any success they have will just be attributed to Aaron Rodgers, their black wideouts and Finley.

Fantasy owners shouldn't, but the Texans are holding out hope that Jones will rebound from his one-catch, 11-target disaster against the Raiders. On the season, Jones has 15 catches for 182 yards and a touchdown. He's one of the least consistent players in real-life football and a poor WR3 option in Week 6.

What more of a prima facie example of extreme AA can there be in the NFL than with this situation? If Jones were White, he'd not only be demoted, he'd be packing his bags and trying not to let the door hit his a** on the way out of the building. Instead, they get rid of a White proven commodity in Anderson and keep Jones as a starter?

Once again, the Corporate NFL, by its very actions, proves that a team's motivation for winning will always come second to making sure they follow a prescribed quota/extreme AA/diversity policy.

I think James Casey is week to week, the injury is not as bad as initially feared. It's sad to see Anderson get yanked around like this though, he is much better than Jones. At least Logan Payne will be back in a week or two.
