Of the six teams with black head coaches, only the Steelers are looking good right now. Cleveland and Cincinnati are disaster areas, Kansas City is rebuilding from scratch after collapsing under Herm Edwards, the Bears are a shell of their Super Bowl team from two seasons ago, and the Colts are struggling. Only Tony Dungy and Mike Tomlin should have completely safe jobs right now.
Although it's still early, the Browns have the look and feel of a team going nowhere. They had poor clock management for the second game in a row, and the decision to kick a field goal so late in the game on their only sustained drive of the game instead of going for it on fourth down was obviously the wrong one to make. Crennel seems to just stand there with a permanently befuddled look on his face. You have to wonder if he's really in charge or if he's a Ray Rhodes/Art Shell symbol of "equality" more than a real head coach.
