The first preseason game is not very important. They use a lot of players who'll be cut next week.

I don't think Woodhead's not playing means much one way or another. The Chargers may have wanted to look at other players this week, Woodhead next week.

Wigger Pete is quite possibly the most loathsome coach in the NFL
Ain't that the truth.

Unmentioned so far was a few positive things from the 49ers, of all teams. A.J. Jenkins, whom coaching and management "badly" want to step into the #2 receiver roll, is looking like a bust. Jenkins only had 1 catch in 3 targets, in which him promptly fumbled the ball away. Austin Collie and Chad Hall on the other hand had 2 catches for 20 yards each. Modest but hopefully they can move up the depth chart. Also, special teams ace Dan Skuta, had 3 tackles and 2 sacks. I wonder how he would fair if he ever got a chance to play at linebacker? I'd wager he'd be Chase Blackburn 2.0 (I say this as a compliment).

P.S. - Vance McDonald looks very good. If Vernon Davis is used as a receiver this year, Vance could get alot of playing time as a rookie.

Not a fan of NASCAR...but the caramel-colored sideline announcer interviewed Brad Keselowski last night asking him "if he was a fan of the NFL"? He said he was "glad to see guys like Dane Sanzenbacher getting the opportunity"....then looked into the camera and said "Chicago Bears HOW could you cut him"??

PROPS to HIM!!

Was concerned for Hillis...hoping it was not as bad as it first seemed...he should be a lock to make the squad....esp if Blount was there last year; surely Hillis is more capable. Should be able to sit the rest of meaningless Pre-season??

Woodhead did not need to play last night...he is much too valuable! The Chargers know this!

They were supposed to alternate 1st team drives between Vick and Foles. Vick threw a pretty pass (I won't lie) on the first drive for a TD and suddenly the alternating QB plan went out the window. Load of BS, Foles doesn't even get a chance to prove himself.

If Cooper is starting, then I doubt Foles has any chance. In fact, i think it might be better this way, for Cooper. I think Foles would ignore Cooper in the passing game more, afraid of appearing "racist". Cooper might not be the primary read, and VIck isn't good at making progressions, but Cooper is great working with a scrambling qb knowing where to go when the qb is under pressure, and he can catch some ugly passes.

DavidHolly, Foles will get plenty of work and when vick gets hurt, as he always gets hurt. Foles will take over the team. This is Foles' year.

Zach Line for a 61 yard reception, so much for his lack of "speed"

edit: you beat me to it? did you see the play? my cmputer is acting up and only heard about the play after it happened'

I really don't think his 40 yard time is accurate, Ive seen his play, he isn't in the high 4.7 range imo. His 20 yard burst is amazing, as well as his agility, he is so light on his feet, has a good understanding of angles in the open field. I would say he is closer to a high 4.6, which is what is what he posted at his pro day.

It was a short 10 yard pass where he had descent blocking but his speed and cuts were the key to him going all the way. Yes I agree that Zach Line is alot faster than the number say. He is similar to Burkhead who showed his skills last night.

Glad to see Tebow time in NE. Timmy led the Pats to a score on their first drive off the 2nd half. Depite little time, he made a few good throws and also had a nice 14 yard run. He now has 31 yards rushing already! Tebow is back. I hope he plays the whole second half. I'm pretty sure he will as Mallet got shaken up
on a sack in the first half. The 2nd and 3rd string offensive lines of NE need alot of work.

I'm amazed watching the Eagles-Patriots game. Philly is even Whiter on offense than New England, lots of White tight ends and receivers, an all-White or almost all-White o-line and the backup linemen are all White or close to it. Even with Vick starting they had 7 White starters on offense, and both predominantly White offenses have moved the ball well in this game.

Foles looked very good and Barkley has been good for his first playing time. Philly may be the team to root for in the NFC this season even if Vick starts, especially if Riley Cooper puts up nice numbers.

Never thought I'd see the day where I root for the Eagles, but I'm not totally against the idea. The NFC really needs some root-worthy teams.

Hopefully Vick isn't the quarterback for long, however that comes about, since we all know that the narrative for their success will be the amazing Vick carrying the squad of bumbling stumbling honkeys into the playoffs. And if they end up sucking it's going to be that he was held back by the collective weight of their lunch pails.

didn't see the game, but noticed Greg Salas had 3 catches for 54 yds for the Eagles.

I think that Nick Foles has the makings of a franchise quarterback. He played well under difficult circumstances last year as a rookie.

I think it is Foles's year and he will establish himself after Vick's inevitable injuries. I think Foles is the future of the Eagles.

I agree with everyone. After dealing with some heavy pass rush initially, Nick Foles showed some cool and made some nice throws. Matt Barkley settled in and performed well. Also, Alex Smith looked in complete control for Kansas City.

Foles is the future of the franchise. Dog Killer Vick will get hurt again at some point. He always does but the coach may even bench him
before that happens. He has not be overly impressive the last several years. His whole career has been overrated if you ask me. He would
have been better off being a reciever in my honest opinon. He has arm strength but Vick has always lacked the accuracy and the leadership
needed to be an elite qb.

Of course we all know that vick would have been made a WR if he was white. Like Matt Jones, and Eric Crouch.

No doubt in my mind Cole Beasley could be a starter in the league. He had a nice game yesterday, will he be cut now?
No, I think he'll make the team. It's Danny Coale who really is playing for his career at this point. His stat line was not good yesterday.

Dolphins safety Jordan Kovacs has looked pretty good this preseason, especially during special teams. I think he should stick with the roster.

Foles without a doubt should be the starter for the Eagles. I thought he looked pretty damn good last year with a crap team. Vick should have been cut the moment they drafted Barkley. Of course in the NFL failure is not only tolerated, but rewarded by anointing Vick the de-facto starter

Over in Minnesota Zach Line is going to make them forget about Harvin real quick.

I like the look of the Colts backup QB Harnish

From rotoworld:
"This year's "Mr. Irrelevant" as the last player picked in the draft, Harnish had yet to appear in a game. He was more than respectable in preseason action, completing 27-of-47 passes (57.4 percent) for 406 yards (8.6 YPA) and a 91.3 passer rating. Harnish will be a practice squad candidate if he clears waivers. Tue, Oct 16, 2012 08:00:00 PM"

Chandler Harnish looking like a capable starting qb in the NFL, if only they let him run the read option. Just had a roll out pass threading the needle while on the run. Griff Whalen looking good as well.

I take it nobody watched the Giants last night? I guess no reason to, but wanted to know how Cooper Taylor was doing. He is supposed to be a nickel safety/lb hybrid.

DWFs are salivating over EJ Manuel scoring a touchdown against the second and third string Colts defense. He was playing with the Bills first string offense. Against the Colts first string defense he's struggled and aside from the touchdown drive he struggled against the third stringers.

Dat upside though, you guys seen his wrist flick?
