NFL Playoffs Divisional Week

I caught the tail end of the Saints Game. Very exciting.

Home now and I just saw Wes Welker score a td. This game is going to be great. I hope it stays close. I'm rooting for a Pats win but for Tebow and the Broncos to keep it close.

Dan Marino just said that he thinks Broncos will seriously miss Decker which diminishes their chances of success (that was his number 1 reason why this game will be hard to win for Tebow and Broncos)

I was watching one of the endless Tebow segments on NFL Network today, and they were talking about Josh McDaniels and his 2010 draft picks while with Denver that have done well -- Tebow, Thomas, Beadles, and Walton were shown -- but for some reason Decker was omitted.

Right now Brady and company are shredding the Broncos defense. If this keeps up it will be a blowout and Tebow will have no chances to even keep the game close.

They are coming after Tebow, he needs to run and slow that rush off. Ninovich again. About the only guy worth a nickel on the defense. It doesn't look like the Denver D can stop New England. Too many mismatches. TEs are dominating in all the games today - a natural consequence of the trend of smurf-sized defensive backs.

what a catch by Gronk (regardless of the decision, great hands and concentration!)

What a great story Gronkowski is. Most teams were very leery of drafting him because of the back injury he had in college. Now he's the best tight end in the game and maybe the best ever. The Patriots got an absolute steal with the 42nd pick.

Gronkowski is a monster and that was one of the best catches of the year. Brady and Welker are in fine form.

Ninkovich is a one man wrecking crew. He is causing havoc. Why don't the Pats get more guys on defense just like him. Ninkovich is not the reason that the Pats are rated 31st in defense. He is one of their best players. Wake up New England and get more whites on the defensive side of the ball.

I hope the Denver Offensive Line can make a few minor adjustments to buy Tebow a little time.

Earlier today on New England sports shows talking about the game they said "Jerod Mayo was the only reliable linebacker on New England, all the others are suspect" - well Ninkovich is chewing up the Broncos right now.

Brady just threw a pick but before that we were again reminded of just how valuable and reliable Welker is as he cannot drop a 3rd down pass for a 1st down conversion - it just doesn't happen.

I think Tebow has 2 passing yards right now - I really hope that changes because I don't want to hear the ridicule of him for the entire off season.

And Good Lord they are going to show this Red Tails ad every break, I can tell.

Hopefully it'll flop as badly as that Ernie Davis movie that was getting saturation advertising a couple of years ago, but since it's about airplanes and dropping bombs on evil Nazis there will likely be a DWF audience for it.

Even in DWF ameriafrica, I don't see many people wanting to see that movie. Not even blacks.

Have the Denver coaches ever watched a college football game?
Do they realize that you can do different things with the option? That's not against the rules. I don't think they know that.

thats what ive been screaming. If spread option teams like Oregon stuck to this game plan theyd lose pretty much every game. Option teams are constantly having to tweak stuff and add new wrinkles. I would like to see the inverted zone read with Eddie Royal coming on a sweep. I think that wrinkle would make things hard on the Patriots

the only thing different ive seen this game is running the same exact option play out of pistol

What's "pistol" is that like a short shotgun?

Alex Smith's success this year is also a reflection of Singletary's complete ineptness as a head coach and how the "Rooney Rule" affects (or infects) the NFL and White players very negatively.

Some credit should be given to Harbaugh for having confidence in him and allowing him show why he was the #1 pick overall in the draft. Harbaugh may have been the first positive experience Smith has had since being in the NFL and after Alex's performance today, Troy Smiff won't get a sniff.

yeah the qb is closer to the line of scrimmage, usually around 4 with the back 3 yards directly behind him, you get the benefits of shotgun and i formation downhill running. I don't understand why more teams don't use the formation, considering most nfl teams line their qb only around 5 yards behind the los in shotgun, I know its hard to get the timing right for certain plays but it makes it easier for the back running downhill when he gets the handoff.

Same for Colin Kapernick, who was drafted in the second round last April to replace Alex as the starter in '12.

Brady and the Pats offense no longer ****ing around. Considering the atrocious play calling by Denver, that 48-10 prediction I saw earlier is looking like money.

Big difference between the hands of the Patriots catching the ball and the Broncos attempting to catch the ball.

The Patriots can name the score. Belichick will probably run it up in the second half as he likes to do.

And with that, the Broncos have been Gronked and this game is now over.
