Madden and Summerall were such a good team because they were friends watching the game similar to two friends watching a game in one friends man cave. Once Summerall moved on and it was Rabbi Al it was much more clinical and lost some of the flavor of the broadcast.
I think Reeves threw a half back option pass for a td in the "Ice Bowl" to Lance Rentzel but my memory is hazy. I do know this he was a solid tweener halfback/fullback for the Cowboys and was very underrated as a head coach.

His Denver teams were majority White starters at least in the early years of the teams. He seemed to have a bunch small conference players on the team. One of the Achilles' heels of those teams were they have never had a bell cow back and had to rely on the legs of Elway too much to pull rabbits out of the hat in the playoffs. Sammy Winder was the best back that the Broncos had back then and he was really a high end journeyman, something similar to Reeves in Dallas.
I watched that when it happened. A big game, and at Mile High Stadium no less. A total classic. An epic hit for sure!
Simoneau was on the Atlanta roster in 2002, but didn't start. He went to Philadelphia after the 2002 season where he became a starter for several years. Matt Stewart and John Holecek who came from Buffalo became starters in 2002. Atlanta went to a 3-4 and 3 0f the 4 LB's were white. Brooking, Stewart , and Holecek. Holecek broke his forearm after 11 games and may have had some knee injuries too. His consistent career came to an end. Stewart suffered a shoulder injury in 2007 and for the most part ended his career. Brooking was a staple at LB for almost 15 years. He started 193 of a possible 210 games as the first string LB. It was only in his rookie season that he did not start, but played in 15 games. His career ended after the 2012 season with Denver.
