Professional sports leagues should have a mechanism whereby terrible owners can be forced to sell if enough other owners agree. Marge Schott was forced to sell the Reds because of her political views, Rush Limbaugh was denied the right to buy a team because of his political views, why shouldn't the way an owner runs his team come under fair scrutiny for something besides his political views for the betterment of the league.

The Pirates have an owner, Bob Nutting, who deliberately keeps payroll low and trades away young talent for prospects right before they're eligible to become free agents, so they're in a permanent rebuilding mode as the process repeats over and over. He maximizes his profit while the team and its fans suffer. The Pirates have had four winning seasons in the last 30 years. They'll never be competitive other than for occasional fluke years as long as the Nutting family owns the team, similar to the Dolphins and Jaguars with their current owners. It's even worse when it happens in football because at least the NFL has a salary cap which is designed to create as much parity as possible, yet certain teams still suck just about every year. The Lions are another annual sadsack team in the NFL, so are the Cardinals most of the time with this year being an exception. The Jets and Bears can also be included.

As usual the 1% are untouchable and unaccountable -- unless they don't toe the party line politically.

You might as well tag the Pirates as a gateway team from AAA baseball to the majors. Tampa Bay is something similar but they have had success recently with the prospects gelling and they have won 2 pennants and won the American League East this year.

In football the Bengals have been run like a gateway team and as you stated the Cardinals historically have been the same way. I remember when the NFL shifted towards Black prospects being viewed as better prospects less qb and O-linemen the Cardinals were always with a top pick and they would have among the blackest rosters and cellar dwelling at the same time.

'Ol Uncle Bob should have been forced out years ago, but the other owners love him. Plus he makes money for the league. He'll be there until the day he dies unfortunately. As for Stephen Ross, you are correct that he's even worse because the NFL has a salary cap. I think if this Watson deal goes through, Dolphin fans need to be vocal about their disdain for the product, this owner, and having a sex offender as the face of the franchise. Emails, phone calls, and protests at the stadium are all a good idea. Let the anti-white NFL know what a blemish Ross has been to a once proud franchise.

That is my hope. Although the whole Eagles roster is pretty much trash. They haven't addressed any of the issues that plagued the team when Wentz was deemed to be the problem. Hurts was a really good college QB, he is terrible inaccurate, skittish in the pocket and does not go through his progressions - scripted plays he can execute but he does not have the ability to run an offense. The exact same situation is unfolding in Chicago - last year it was Mitch Trubisky's fault - the Rodent destroyed his confidence, the fans piled on him, the media attacked him with a rabid fervor etc. But now the Bears fans want Nagy and Pace gone and are recognizing that the Bears WRs and OL are awful. These were things we have been discussing for two to three years on this site. I think we should all give each other some credit for being absolutely correct about these two organizations.

Houston/Miami/Watson all have agreed to a deal for the trade but the legal situation apparently needs to be clarified for Dolphins owner Stephen Ross. This news is a distraction to an already struggling team with a young QB. Supposedly Miami is willing to part with three first round draft picks plus more for Watson - this may be one of those trades that really sets an organization back for years if all goes through.

There are rumors Packers are interested in trading for Hayden Hurst and Jacob Hollister. That would be awesome for either of those guys to come to GB and play with Rodgers! Unfortunately I've also heard Evan "Drop" Engram as another possibility.

I've mentioned OBJ in Browns thread, and it's mentioned Isabella might be able to escape in Cardinals thread. We'll see how how this trade deadline shakes out.

Social media is abuzz with Raiders rookie WR Henry Ruggs III was involved in a serious car accident in Vegas on the overnight. It appears there was at least one fatality. Ruggs is said to be injured. Accident reportedly happened at 0340hrs which is a red flag. I saw a separate report listing 0120hrs. Either way nothing good happens after midnight. It is not fair to assume its a DUI on his part yet; for all we know he was sober & the other driver was not; but when I was a firefighter/emt virtually all post midnight accidents I responded to involved impaired drivers. Picture shows a head on hit to his vette; the other vehicle resembles an suv that was on fire

The preliminary investigation indicates that the front of Ruggs' Chevrolet collided with the rear of the departed's Toyota. The 22-year-old reportedly remained on the scene and showed signs of impairment following the collision, eventually being transported to UMC hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries and charged with DUI resulting in death, a Category B felony offense in Nevada with a minimum of two years in state prison and a maximum of 20 years. This is an ongoing investigation that could result in the end of Ruggs' career.

It would also be great if some team took a chance on David Sills. He has really gotten the worst treatment. Not even close to a fair chance to make the couple of teams
he has been on. You have to play guys to see what they have. Because he is a tall & fast white guy, they don't like that. They prefer to hide our guys in the slot and even

Even though he's not one of our guys, you can't help but feel bad for Tua. To have your career jerked around like this (getting crushed behind a line due to incompetent sumos, an affirmative action coaching staff and GM, and a clueless old Jew owner who's been dying to have his black quarterback savior since the team coveted Lamar Jackson a few years ago) is something you simply don't do to a player, especially one who has been nothing but classy and hard working such as Tua. I hope he gets out of this dumpster fire of an organization and flourishes elsewhere like Tannehill did.

I've had my theories that the Marxist powers that be who run the NFL have been gunning for Tua due to his strong Christian beliefs. Same what they did to Tebow. Let's hope he doesn't get "Tebowed" out of the league like Tim unfairly did.

Tua may not be white, but neither was George Zimmerman. We all saw how the media treated him.

Perhaps the best thing that could happen is that he fails in Miami before he gets killed behind an atrocious O-line the usual inept coaching and Jewish owner who smoked too much of the Tikkun Olam stash. Tua like most QB prospects taken at that level are serviceable backups, nothing wrong with that, pays well, you keep clean and the ladies still find you attractive.
