Big roster moves have been happening throughout the week. Just the tip of the iceberg. With every team tight on cap, and the cap expected to rise, maybe we see more short, below market 1-year "prove it" deals than normal. Or perhaps the contracts are structured to have a lower hit year one and then spread the money across later years? Either way it'll be interesting to watch.
Alex Anzalone says he feels disrespected by the Saints, who traded for Kwon Alexander to play over him; says wants to play a bigger role elsewhere. Personally I think the Bills are a good fit. Matt Milano seems to have priced himself out of their range, Anzalone is a good coverage LB, better than Milano. Hope he plays a bigger role wherever, glad he's not a Saint anymore. Dislike their DWFs and Sean Payton.
Vikings cut Riley Reiff to save cap room. Wow. Thought they'd extend him. Despite drawing the ire of DWFs in the past he was never that bad, and this past year he put together his best season so far. Should have a good market. Fortunately, they have 2nd year T Ezra Cleveland to move over from G. Hopefully they let go of awful sumo Dakota Dozier, and get two good white guards. Already have their C and RT in Bradbury and O'Neill. Vikings have probably overtaken the Patriots as CF's favorite. I could see the Colts signing him, I'd love them to keep having a snowplow since Castonzo retired. Should have plenty of suitors.
Kevin Zeitler was also cut, Giants save $10M. Good fits include the Vikings (had terrible OG play), Bills (have a need on OL, really don't want them to go sumo-heavy, would ruin an otherwise solid roster), and Bengals (his original team; Burrow better not get killed by porous sumo dominated lines). Kyle Long also announced he is coming out of retirement. Should be a solid OL market, hope our guys can stick around and the sumo trend will be stymied. I feel like OL play has dropped lately.
