Sounds like the Texans are going to hire the black WRs coach from the Ravens...will this appease Deshaun - probably not.

I thought they passed him over for an Irish American, I didn't know he was High Yella...https://www.wmar2news.com/sports/fo...hire-david-culley-as-new-assistant-head-coach

PS in a more serious note is this appeasement or what this guy wasn't a head coach anywhere and not even a coordinator for half season or so.

The Texans are going to be longing for the stability of O'brien's 10 and 6 level of coaching....

The admittedly Black and Jewish writer clears Carter of all racism charges. He's just being honest. LOL. Well shoot if just being honest is what we're calling it these days. I have a few things to say, but I'm neither Black nor Jewish and my daddy wasn't a ball player. Such is life.

FTR the Monday morning ESPN Mike & Mike show with Carter was always interesting to me, but then Greenberg went to type and ruined it. "Racism" is a bunch of idiot rhetoric that gives the mentally and morally disabled moral power over the nice smart people conservatives, but no one gets a free shot at me on the moral level, (I grew up under the thumb of women I know the feminine way of control).

Anyway Carter would probably be an ok dude to talk football and the racial politics of football with once you slapped aside the idiot evil rhetoric and started talking like men. And the Randy Moss phenomenon ruined his chance at a ring in MN.

Well, in that all these years nobody ever thought of the guy as head coaching material, I think he won't measure up to the HCing job. But you never know. But most likely the overall responsibilities of a HC are too much for him.

I actually wonder if Houston with their turmoil and perception of being tone deaf to a racist ownership decided to punk the media by hiring the Whitest Black coach they could find without the credentials, basically setting him up to fail.

I think even if he moderately successful like Obrien was he can't be the long term answer as he already an AARP card holder, granted he is a young looking 65 but the wheels can fall off with your health at any time with the stress of being a head coach.

Not everyone can be boy wonder like Pete Carroll.

The poster boy for #blackfragility Watson officially requested a trade. He is being looked upon like some sort of hero - he was signed to a contract extension in 2020 and less than a year later he wants out.

We here at CF can predict that if any short bus team trades for Watson and gives up multiple high level picks, that franchise will fail for years.....I wish there were Vegas odds on that......

If per say the Jets trade for the malcontent Watson you can bet the win total on the year, the playoff odds, SB winning odds, etc...

A team would be crazy to trade for Watson. He'll bring the same bad attitude with him wherever he goes. He'll demand to run the team and purge the team of whites.

I just want you'll to know by no means I think a man should hit a woman. What I don't understand is the double standard when it comes to a white player crossing the line and when a black player crosses it. All of a sudden black players are mad and upset when a player hits a woman. How many times in the last few years have we seen that this black player knocks his girlfriend out or rapes her, pulled her across the floor by her hair, and points a gun at them. The only reason, in this case, is it was a white player who beat a black woman and they are so morally outrage and crying crocodile tears. A black man can't believe a black woman would want to be with an inferior white man than with a brother. That's what all this fake rage is about.

The NFL rookie contracts are so team favorable that very few players are worth multiple first round picks. Watson is not one of these people.

The espn people are practically swallowing DWataon.....
They are convinced trading him would be like a Hershel Walker trade....
Their analogy is off though.....They have it backwards....The Vikings lost out getting Hershel. The new team Watson goes to will lose out and Houston if they can steal multiple high picks, should prevail.....

The Texans won their division four out of five seasons before everything fell apart in 2020. They were perhaps the most successful overwhelmingly black team in NFL history during the end of that run, but then again they ended up lacking up a steady presence which is what caused the organization to self-destruct. Watson may end up being a great example of "the grass is always greener" metaphor.

Well we know somebody had to be the fall guy for the "Beam me up Scotty" touchdown late in the first half of the NFC championship game and Mike Pettine was forced to walk the plank as his contract wasn't renewed by the Packers, no rumours about potential suitors but he could always get work as semi famous porn actor Rod Fontana's body double....https://www.rotoworld.com/football/nfl/player/7744/mike-pettine

I wonder if the "Smith Brothers" will be getting any criticism thrown there way. The media ranted and raved about them in 2019 - they played in the same scheme under the same coordinator and yet in 2020 they had a minimal impact. Same with Rashan Gary who Crissy still talked up like he was some burgeoning superstar.

Now Goff is back under the spotlight for some reason. Rumors of Stafford getting sent to the Rams, Goff starting his last game for the Rams and McVay's belief in John Wolford. Hey I am happy Wolford went in and played well, he provided a spark for sure but I don't think he is more than a spot starter. Goff came in injured and led the Rams to the win over Pete's plantation and this is the thanks he gets. The NFL caught up to McVay's offensive scheme, McVay handicapped Goff by not making Kupp the focal point of the offense and it's somehow Goff's fault. McVay is slowly becoming another typical coach. He isn't going to do better than Goff who when healthy is a very good QB.

I certainly agree about Kupp as I've been writing that ever since McVay suddenly demoted him mid-season 2019 just as he was taking the league by storm, which speaks volumes about McVay for all the hope we had for him when he took over the Rams. But Goff was very inconsistent last year, just couldn't deal with pressure at all and that's a career killer in today's NFL when even most of the White quarterbacks now move around very well, the exception being masters of the pocket like Brady, Rivers and the Manning brothers. Maybe Goff will bounce back as I've always liked him and was very happy when he put the "bust" label to rest after his rookie year under clueless Jeff Fisher. But there's no question he took a step backwards in '20.

I don't disagree but as to why he took a step back isn't all on Goff. I watched enough of the Rams to see him forcing the ball to Reynolds and Woods - the offense seemed to be based alot more on getting the ball to the first read as quickly as possible rather than allowing plays to develop. I have no issue laying a majority of the blame on McVay. He needs to be careful because the next QB he has won't get him 42 wins in 4 seasons. We saw that Pederson soured on Wentz and went to his quota Hurts which helped get him fired and we may see McVay get a quota of his own. Franchise QBs do not fall out of trees and for the Rams to treat Goff with such little respect publicly after this season is a poor look for McVay and the GM Les Snead.

It's blame shifting for sure. Goff needs an excellent o-line to flourish and he didn't have that this past season. That's not on him. The diminishing of Kupp's role is pure Caste cowardice. Goff did indeed win a lot of games and when he's on he's a top-flight QB who throws a beautiful ball. But he has limitations when it comes to reacting to pressure and giving him more time to read and react is how to get him back on top of his game.

Lions acquired QB Jared Goff, a 2021 third-round pick, 2022 first-round pick and 2023 first-round pick from the Rams in exchange for QB Matthew Stafford.

A rare big blockbuster trade. My initial feeling is the Rams gave up far too much. If Goff can bounce back, the trade could be totally one sided with all those picks.
