The offseason is always filled with media fluff and puff pieces and lots of coachspeak, so take this with a lot of grains of salt even though Quinn has everything it takes to succeed, especially coming from the mouth of a Gruden:

After Jamison Crowder left for the Jets as a free agent, Gruden mentioned Quinn as an option in the slot. But it sounds like he's more than just an "option"; Quinn sounds like the heavy favorite with the job his to lose. Quinn suffered a high-ankle sprain in September as a rookie and missed a large chunk of the season on I.R. before returning in November only to get injured again. The issue seems to be behind him. Quinn has elite short-area quicks and had the lowest drop rate among all receivers in last year's draft class. He should mesh well with Case Keenum.

I was surprised that Quinn lasted until the end of the 7th round last year. I thought he'd go in the 4th or 5th round. Shadowlight mentioned that Gruden wanted to take him earlier but was overruled.

Every team passed on him repeatedly. I thought then and think now he can be a quality NFL starter in the slot. I think a lot of people on CF agree with me.

We'll see who's right, us or the NFL scouts.

Trey Quinn is the prototypical “steal”. He’s one of those players that I never doubted would make the roster despite his draft spot. Hell, most people forget he played at LSU originally and they always recruit and put out top receivers. If he can stay healthy and record at least 600 yards I’d be very satisfied.

Absolutely correct Extra Point. Gruden wanted to draft Quinn much earlier but their front office led by Doug Williams shot him down. Makes you wonder how they snuck in Troy Apke in the 4th round? The Redskins have been extremely caste over time so I don't have a lot of faith in their front office.

They are one of the teams, if rumors are right, in the QB Daniel Jones sweepstakes. That would be a nice landing spot for him.

The Raiders just signed seldom used speedster TE Luke Wilson but it is only a one year deal. Wilson seemingly has all the skills to become a down field TE threat but neither the Lions this past season or the Seahawks utilized him properly. Actually he never played a hell of a lot. He is still young enough at 29 to make some noise.

Will the Raiders do him right?

I wouldn't hold your breath but again we can't make a complete proper assessment of teams and their caste levels until after the draft. That should clarify things with all the teams. In this draft look mostly on the defensive side of the ball where there are plenty of white standouts. If a team avoids them then chances are we are looking at a team hell bent on having a caste look.

And the WR Chris Hogan watch continues. Not a good sign. At the very least he needs to be signed by the draft. Otherwise he would be a late slip in and they would treat him as a practice squad type. That time might have already arrived. He needs to sign and soon.

The NFL network has a one hour show called the "Football Life" and it goes over former player's careers. I have seen the Dwight Clark, Wes Welker and Steve Largent episodes and they are very interesting although the Clark story ends in tragedy. All three had to enter the league in unusual ways ( the honky hard way) but they overcame the obstacles and became big time stars. They also bonded with their QBs on and off the field. It is fascinating to see how these underdog players became such great wide receivers. Largent got cut by Bum Phillips. Bum was as stupid as he looked.

I have not seen the Chris Collinsworth story, it has aired before, but I might try and catch at least some of it tonight. It will be on this evening on the NFL network. Unlike the three players above, Chris C went the more conventional route in becoming a star WR. He didn't have to do the honky hard way.

This signing effectively once again buries Zach Zenner on the Lions' depth chart. I still can't believe he didn't sign with the Vikings, where he had an opportunity to be the main running back. He's a smart kid but oblivious to the Caste System and racial dynamics in general. Showing great loyalty to an organization that has consistently screwed him over is not admirable to put it mildly.

Lions signed RB C.J. Anderson, formerly of the Rams, to a one-year contract.
The Lions have their LeGarrette Blount replacement to pair with sophomore Kerryon Johnson. Detroit has talked all offseason how it wants to limit Johnson's touches and not rely on him as a workhorse. Anderson obviously had a huge Weeks 16-21 with the Rams to end last season, compiling an 89-488-4 rushing line in five contests, including three 100-yard games. Anderson, however, was running behind arguably the league's best run-blocking offensive line in a very favorable offense. That won't be the case in Detroit, as the Lions were 19th in adjusted line yards in the run game. Anderson turned 28 in February. Consider him an RB3 for the time being. Theo Riddick will still have a role on pass downs as well.

The Packers' fan base would love to have Jordy back, but the new managerial regime seems committed to constructing a hard-core Caste team.

Retired free agent Jordy Nelson admitted "it would probably be hard to say no" if the Packers asked him to come out of retirement.
The soon-to-be 34-year-old (next month) announced his retirement last week after his release from the Raiders. The Packers always made sense as a potential fit due to his long history with the team and relationship with Aaron Rodgers. But Green Bay appears content for now with Davante Adams and Geronimo Allison atop the depth chart with youngsters Equanimeous St. Brown, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Jake Kumerow, and J'Mon Moore behind them. Nelson will likely be on the Packers' phone list if an injury occurs.

This only reinforces the idea that Jordy didn't retire but was retired.

It would be life affirming and something the fans would love if they brought back Jordy for a couple of years. Essentially a risk free harmless move since he still can contribute and it would surely calm down Aaron Rodgers.

But I think most of us realize this new Packer front office appears to want to caste up the team like they did last season on offense. Where did that get them? Nowhere fast.

I dunno, I think Jordy has made his team choices/non-choices based on what he deems best for him and his family (shock!). He probably saw the Bay Area as a better domestic fit than the Big Easy and so chose the Raiders based on that. Same with this year. He would rather retire than move his family to another location, but would play at home in Green Bay if needed.

Only Jake that's why the rest were in ARod's doghouse. J'Mon was ridiculed 1st day he was in camp by Rodgers for loafing on routes.

Adams is a good possession receiver. Rest are overrated upsiders.

Freethinker, about 12 ex-AAF players have signed contracts at this time, and I believe 3 are white: QB Garrett Gilbert, Cleveland; OG Kitt O'Brien, Carolina and OG J.C. Hassenauer, Pittsburgh

O'Brien will soon turn 29, so I don't think he has much upside. Hassenauer, a backup lineman at U of Alabama, is only 24 so he might have a chance with the Steelers, who suddenly like blue-collar white OL's?

At quarterback, I was very impressed with Brandon Silvers, who only got to start a few games before the league folded. He definitely deserves a long look. Wolford, from the Arizona Hotshots, was very good, but is short. Prototypical CFL quarterback. with great wheels? CFL teams should be all over him ASAP.

At wide receiver, Reece Horn has the best shot. Was a true deep threat in the league. Had he not missed time due to injury and started the season with super-bust Christian Hackenberg, he should've led the league in receiving. With his size and speed, he'd be a slam dunk signee if he were black. Probably have multiple teams competing for him. White outside receiver (not slot) could be tough. He spent a little time with the Colts, working in the front office in college and got a brief look as a player after college. He played in Italy last season, so if he does make it, it would be an almost Chris Hogan like meteoric-rise.

Nelson Spruce really excelled in the slot at the end of the season, but he's had three cracks at the NFL already. Made it with the Rams as a rookie, but was injured. Then floated around aimlessly for two seasons. Will he get another chance? Better yet, will he be given a legit chance, thanks to his AAF showing? I say probably not, but sincerely hope I'm wrong.

Ryan Moeller, topped the league's safeties with 4 picks. The former Colorado star was a true ball-hawk for Mike Martz. Hopefully he follows Kevin Kaesviharn (XFL) and Andrew Sendejo (UFL), who parlayed fringe league success into NFL starting jobs.


Karter Schult led the league in sacks from week 1 to week 7. He was a true star in the AAF, but is considered a "tweener" and is "white". Not a ideal mix. He's a tweener in the sense that he was considered too slow for OLB and too small for DE in the NFL. I'd say you'll likely see him next in the XFL.

LB's Austin Larkin and Greer Martini, as well as DE Casey Sayles should be signed, based on their athletic ability and success they had in the AAF. Also, all three are young.

DT Winston Craig got off to a smoking start in the league, but cooled off a bit after week 4. My guess is his best chance to make it in the NFL would be a team like Seattle, which would move him to guard.

A.J. Tarpley came out of NFL retirement to play and excelled. Nonetheless, I don't think he will get a great chance due to his age and the fact that he retired on the NFL after just one season. His backup, named Ginda, played okay in spurts. Adam Gase supposedly loved him with the Dolphins, but the front office disagreed and he was cut. Don't be surprised if he lands with the Jets.

Former Jets draft pick and special teams LB Dylan Donahue did a real nice job racking up sacks when healthy, but is probably a long shot in the anti-white NFL. He also left the NFL due to a substance abuse (drinking) suspension. No biggie for blacks; lethal for whites?

The XFL will fail again too. From what I read the AAF was upset that the NFL/NFLPA were making it difficult to get players on the periphery of the NFL into their league. Instead of thinking outside the box all the AAF did was feed off the caste crumbs of the NFL. They neglected a huge number of talented white athletes that were written off. They could of almost fielded that whole league with white players screwed over by the caste system over the past 5-6 years.
